Hotel Gamper

Location and breakfast are the only good things about this place. Sleeping comfort shouldn't be expected. Went on a hot summer day, with no air-conditioning in the room. But not even a fan was provided. Not really what I expected from the hotel where you pay a premium price. Beds aren't very comfortable either. It is a very simple room.

Except for the bed, which was like sleeping on a bowl, everything here was good. I recommend hotel gamper for the central location and the good views from the 7th floor. The staff was very helpful. The restaurant of the same name was pretty good.

There is no air-conditioning so I am waking up in unbelievable fits of sweat. I have the windows open, nothing on me and the bed covers off but am still forming puddles of sweat just from standing. I do sweat more than the average person which is a consideration but not by much, maybe 15% more. The price is ridiculous for what you get. Easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The only saving grace is the breakfast. But yeah for the price they’re asking, I have to write this review.

Probably the worlds tinyest Elevator in the world? Nice Hotel with tiny rooms in tiny Switzerland. Prices are also tiny - If you are used to the prices in suisse. If you are Not... I had a short stay of one night and enjoyed the really good breakfast. All was fine - but the mattresses.

The rooms were very clean the bed was very comfortable the staff remarkably pleasant especially Thea she helped us greatly The food was great, and it was close to the train station. And short walks to everything.

Hotel is very clean. Room was typical style very basic. Bed was comfortable. Ample towels. The staff was very helpful. But I had to ask for the Ticino card, which provides free town transportation. Breakfast was fine. Dinner was a disappointment. I had gnocchi with mushroom sauce. Very few mushrooms and normally the sauce is cream based this had a lot of tomato sauce gnocchi was a bit stodgy.

i came in the last train at night, april 2014 the concierge was friendly. I had a room in front of the mountain only for 82 euro. with balcony,the room is not modern but is ok and everything is in good condition, very clean bathroom. breakfast is excellent including good coffee, toasted, croissants etc... and this places is near just few blocks of the castle and medieval town.I was not much time inside the hotel. for me was the best option.

The 2-star hotel is fine for a short stay. The staff is nice and helpful. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable. My only complaint is that the Internet connection was surprisingly weak when linked to it at the restaurant...and did not work in my room on the 6th floor.
