I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Ganesh Himal in Kathmandu. The hotel has a charming and peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect retreat after exploring the busy city. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to help with any request. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a lovely view of the garden. The hotel's central location made it easy to visit many of Kathmandu’s top attractions, yet it was still quiet enough for a good night's rest. I especially enjoyed the delicious food at the restaurant, which offered a great mix of local and international dishes. I highly recommend Hotel Ganesh Himal to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay in Kathmandu!

I have stayed at Hotel Ganesh Himal on multiple occasions over the years. Very convenient, calm location, close to Thamel but not really in the middle of it. It is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Always a solo traveler, I love returning there. Wonderful people run the hotel and it feels like going home to a family.

I was in Kathmandu for business with my team of four from Germany for two weeks. We decided to try this place instead of staying at a business hotel, and what a great choice we made! We were so comfortable that, instead of using the office, we hosted our work trainings with the local team in the courtyard where the hotel staff provided a whiteboard and a stand for us. We loved working there with the greenery and the excellent cappuccinos they served. I also really appreciated that they lent hairdryers, organized our laundry, cleaned the room daily upon request, and always charged extremely fair rates. The staff was both professional and friendly. They also gave fantastic recommendations for dinners and city visits. They took very serious any small issue and solved any problem right away. The only significant downside of the hotel is the current travel manager. In every interaction with him, I encountered an issue. The same happened with my team, and we observed other guests facing similar problems during our stay. He has a habit of intentionally overcharging Westerners, booking tours without agreeing on a price, or then changing the price after an agreement is made. He even lied about the agreed price, but fortunately, I had witnesses. I normally refrain from publically critisizing someones work or livelihood, but i think in this case is granted. I still give the hotel a 5 star because the travel manager is not part of the fixed staff and i did already share this with them and they were not aware of the behavior. I will be coming back, thank you so much for taking such good care of us!

Stay here! Solo female traveller and cannot express how incredible this place is. Friendly staff who help with everything (including luggage room for trekking), tasty food/drinks (I was having authentic masala chai everyday!) and wonderful location (right next to Thamel, with everything you need). Thank you to everyone here - will stay again!

Great rooms. The proprietors provided very good service. A 15 minute walk from the heart of Thamel (some tricky roads to navigate).

Worst place to visit. Water supply just got cut, the lights were not bright inside room. Doesnot provide slippers to walk around. Food is sooo bad. Worst thakali set i have ever eaten. The waiter was not flexible enough. I would not return here. A lot of better places to stay in thamel area than this hotel.

Local hotel in central Kathmandu Not far from Thalem and Durbar squareGood hotel if you are travelling on a budget while enjoying a nice Nepali deco with a patio-stupa in the center of the property.Room was pretty old but reasonable for the price!
