Everything about this hotel is simple and fully satisfying. The floors, walls, and furniture all seem fairly new, and everything is kept spotlessly clean. The decor is simple and fitting. The food is simple, good, and filling. Best of all, the affable proprietor was ready with useful information and was happy to talk with me slowly and clearly, in simple terms, and to listen and respond cheerfully to my broken Spanish. And the setting is beyond magnificent - this is the last building before the national park.

My friend and I stayed in a twin share room, which we thought was great value for money and cosy for a stay in an unbeatable location. We loved the service of the restaurant downstairs and the proximity to Ruta del cares and canal del texu. Our second morning we both woke up to a few bug bites, both assuming they were mosquito bites. Later that day we started questioning the bites, they were predominately on our upper body and the bites formed lines resembling the biting patten of bed bugs. We lifted up both mattress and found marks that looked like bed bug excrement on both as well as a bug that looked a lot like a bed bug in the seams of one. We called for staff and he assured us it was just fleas, most likely picked up from our hike. We showed him our bites and he showed us that he was also bitten and he is bitten all the time by fleas from the cats and goats that are present in the area. We regrettably stayed one more night, and woke to so many more bites. We are covered in them, and after some time away from the accomodation and having to deep clean our belongings twice we believe they were indeed bed bugs. We understand this can occur during travelling but think that it might be beneficial to have pest control inspect the rooms thoroughly and conduct a deep clean, replacing any bedding and mattresses that have evidence of bed bugs. We really enjoyed our stay in every other way and regret having to write this but given the money we’ve had to spend on cleaning our belongings and medicine for the bites we don’t want future travellers to have their experience marred at what is otherwise a charming hotel and location.

A great location for the Ruta de Las Cares and Buines, plus other hiking trails. Free private parking available, rooms simple but comfortable, friendly service and good value menu del dia.

Serves first hotel guests from 8 and opens for others 8:30. We needed to wait outside. Waiter had difficult to understand my order of eating something in and taking additionally with us. Not good service experience. But you dont have choices. Better to buy breakfast stuff in grocery down in lowlands and have it in your lodging if you want to set early for hiking.

The good about this place is that it is very near to the start of the trail route ruta del cares. It has its own dedicated parking spot for hotel guests, so you won’t have to park along the road side. Rooms are relatively fine although the toilet can be a little cramp. Lights along the corridors and the stairs are manually switched on, so do remember to take note of where the switches are. Breakfast is lovely, but this goes well with the packed mashed ham and jam. But their standard sandwiches can be a little dry and unappetizing after a long day hike to Cain and back.

The best stay so far during all our holiday in the Picos mountains! The location couldn't be better for hiking and exploring nearby places as Sotres and Tresviso villages. The staff was super friendly and room was cleaned daily. The view from our room was stunning, straight in to the mountain! Breakfast was basic, but ok. They quickly make sandwiches to take out with you once you go for a hiking when you request this, which is brilliant. |There was nothing we couldn't like. Yes, internet is week, but you come to the mountains to forget about the internet, don't you?! ;) The only one thing we didn't like was that we've stayed there only for 2 nights as it is worth to spend much more time in there :) |Wonderful stay, would definitely come back there again! 10/10! :)|||

My husband and I stayed here one night because we wanted to start our hike in Cares gorge early. ||Our room -#1 - had twin beds, clean and it even had a small bath tub. There wasn't much storage but we just brought what we needed overnight anyway so it was fine for us. It could be a problem for those who are staying for a few days. ||We didn't have dinner or breakfast here. We wanted a full dinner, which they didn't serve; we also wanted to have breakfast before 8:00 but they didn't open until 8:30. We ate at the Mirador nearby (I reviewed that too)||We had very little interaction with the workers but the man who checked us in was friendly enough. We also paid when we arrived because we weren't going to be there during their normal check-out time. ||The pension has a parking lot and we left the car there until late the following evening after our hike||This is a very good pension for a night or two. This area is so beautiful that it is really worth visiting.
