Hotel Muralto Locarno

Very clean and affordable! Highly appreciate this hotel. Accommodating receptionist.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel. Room was clean with everything needed, incl. water cooker, hair dryer and minibar. The hotel is super close to the train station but due to its location being a bit higher it stays surprisingly quiet. Good breakfast served in the morning. We really appreciated the Ticino Ticket which you get for your stay and allows you to take any public transport in the area for free and get discounts on the cable car.

after baddest experience with ibis, I must admit this is a very nice hotel, just 5min walk from the train slation, just a little higher up, offering a nice view of the lake even from lateral hotel windows. modern ambiente, upgraded facilities, comfy lobby and fast WiFi, will chose this again in march.

Perfect resting place. Located right by the train and bus station, this hotel is a great place for anyone heading out to see all sites. The room was spacious and modern. The major blessing for us was the wall air conditioner. After being out in the heat and humidity all day, I’m not sure if we would have survived without this luxury. Also, very nice to have a included breakfast every morning as the food prices are extremely inflated in the area. Would highly recommend!

The hotel is in a great location for literally everything you would want to see in Locarno. The staff are friendly, and try their best to cater for guests' needs. The breakfast buffet is good. ||||You should book a room with a balcony, as the non-balcony rooms are a bit claustrophobic and not the nicest.||||The hotel is quite busy, with a number of groups staying there when we were there.||||Note that there is only a limited amount of free parking available, and the other parking is CHF 12/night.

Just a brief one-night stay here. It's a short walk up a hill from the station and only a few minutes back down to the town centre and lake. My room at the back was fine and did the job. Good WiFi. Included buffet breakfast was impressive. Staff very helpful and multi-lingual. Enjoyed it here.

Great staff, reception open at a wide time range. I was able to check in a bit earlier than usual, and the rooms are spacious and clean. About a 5 minute walk to the Locarno railway station

Good location, 5min (uphill) walk from the main train station, 10min to the old town.|The staffs were very helpful - they helped us make reservations for dinner and lunch on 2 separate occasions. Breakfast is standard.|The room was pretty standard: bed, bathroom, WiFi, shower gel, welcome biscuit on pillow on arrival. No complementary water or bar snack.|For those who drive, there can be cheaper options (with possibly better views) further away from the centre.

A modern hotel just a couple of blocks up the hill from the train station with a great view of the lake. Since we were only staying one night (just a quick day trip from Stresa Italy) I wanted something within walking distance of the train (arrival) and ferry (departure) and the main square-just a few blocks as our timing was fortunate as the town was hosting an international film festival. As for the hotel, it's pretty small with 4 floors of rooms and three larger suites on the top (5th floor). We booked one of the top floor rooms which had a large double bed, huge private patio with electric sun shade, a separate sleeping room (also with a Murphy bed) and a good-sized bathroom with both tub and separate large shower. The furnishings were modern and the hotel seemed fairly new. Breakfast is included as well and had all the typical items-fruits, cheese, meat and breads and is available beginning at 7:00 am. Wifi on the 5th floor was very spotty going in and out from the 4th floor transmitter (no separate one on 5) but that was really the only difficulty during our short stay.

Solid 3-star hotel, good value for money compared to other hotels in Locarno. Parking is 12 CHF per night, but make sure to tell them in advance to reserve a parking spot in the garage otherwise it might be full. Breakfast consisted of basics like bread, oats, corn flakes, fruit and cheese. No vegan milk available. If you can, book a room with a balcony towards the South so you can sit in the sun. The hotel is just a short but steep walk from the train station Locarno. You might need a GPS to find it by car because there are many one-way streets.
