Gaston is a nice place for a short stay — great location and easy to get around, with lots of cafes and public transport nearby. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, which made it fine for a night or two. That said, the room was a bit small and didn’t have much space to put things. There was no cabinet or proper storage, so it might not be ideal for a longer stay or if you're traveling with a lot of luggage. Overall, it's a good option if you're looking for a simple, well-located place to sleep while you explore the city.

I stayed in this hotel with my children from the 25th to the 28th of October. Our room was allocated on the ground floor which suited me just fine.|The bedroom was spacious, clean and we had a walk-in bathroom, overall the hotel was cute, clean just what I was looking for. Not far from the centre of Paris with a few restaurants nearby and a bakery with fresh daily sandwiches. Breakfast at the hotel was simple but fulfilling with fresh croissants fruit, cereals, baguettes, a selection of cheeses yoghurt etc as well as orange and apple juice. |The staff well... Leo, Chahrazed from the front desk were so friendly and professional. Also, the cleaning ladies Marina & Angela so friendly always smiling and making us feel welcomed. These are just a few of the Gems that helped our stay pleasant. Hope the managers know the gems they have working there.

We had a lovely stay at he hotel, which is in a lovely neighbourhood. It is excellent value, tastefully decorated and rooms were clean. We were slightly disappointed to be given a room at the back without a view and overlooked by flats. Previously, we have been given rooms at the front, which overlook the picturesque and leafy avenue. Breakfast items were fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was a bit small and had little space for putting things. No cabinet. However, it was quiet and clean, and the bathroom and the separate toilet had been recently renovated. The graffiti design would not have been necessary for our taste. Breakfast was simple but good enough for us. The service was very kind, too.

Excellent Stay at Hotel Gaston ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Gaston. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome right away. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made it the perfect place to relax after exploring Paris. The hotel’s location is great, in a quiet neighborhood but only a short walk from public transportation, so getting around the city was easy. Breakfast was delicious and offered a nice variety each morning. On our departure day, we asked for extra towels to freshen up before our journey home, and the staff provided them without hesitation, a small but thoughtful gesture that shows their excellent service. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others visiting Paris.

Booked this hotel and had hopes that it would be a good hotel given the majority of the reviews. The hotel is very worn down, the rooms weren’t as big as they look in the pictures, we were 2 people and we couldnt open 2 suitcases at the same time, one had to be closed to make room for the other. The bed sheets were stained the first night and they gave us bed sheets to change them ourselves. They didn’t offer a discount for the inconvenience… The hotel is far from the metro stations and a bit of walking distance to bus stations. Given the price per night isn’t cheap, I won’t recommend staying there. However the street it was on was quiet which is an advantage.

Clean room with air conditioning. There is always someone at the front desk, and they were all very kind and helpful. The street and area is very nice and quiet, and only 30 minute walk to the Arc de Triumphe.

Unfortunately, our stay didn’t live up to expectations. The photos on the website were quite different from reality — the hotel felt a bit tired, especially the carpeted floors, and the overall atmosphere lacked the charm we were hoping for. The room was small, which was fine, but not as it appeared online. Breakfast was very basic, the staff was nice though. Also, having to leave our room key at reception every time we left the hotel was unusual and a bit inconvenient. Wouldn’t stay again.

Yelp
Friendly and helpful staff who genuinely seem happy to be there. They went out of their way to assist us, which made our stay even better. The rooms are basic but stylish and trendy, with a great overall vibe. Located in a safe neighborhood, just an 8-minute walk to the metro, which made getting around easy. Prices are very reasonable. Just a heads-up: the elevator is cute but tiny--fits only two people at a time!

Yelp
Amenities and service are hit and miss. Yesterday two or so rooms on our floor were cleaned. We had two rooms; returning from a long day of walking and walking, room hadn't been touched. Our first morning, a Saturday, the breakfast was satisfactory. Nothing special. The best non-dairy protein were the deli meats and boiled eggs. Our second morning, oops no eggs. No apologies, no refunds. Just. No eggs. So if you're lactose intolerant you aren't going to fill up on croissants and Nutella. Just a warning. Bring your digestive enzymes. The most unnecessary part about breakfast was the lady in the hair net who crashes around clattering plates, slamming doors, and tossing silverware. If you don't appreciate your ears being assaulted in the morning, don't buy the breakfast. Just go across the street and patronize a more gracious business. This breakfast, complete with attitude, wasn't worth 13 extra euros. The shabby chic decor in the breakfast area isn't the world's most comfortable. The little metal chairs aren't padded. There's banquette seating along the walls. Be careful, that raw plywood you'll lean back on, has splinters. But look at their online description. They brag about the decor. Eh. As is typical of most hotels, the WiFi kinda sucks. I ended up paying AT&T the 12$ per day to use data on my iPhone and I tethered my iPad to it. My room, 406, faced a quiet tree-lined street. The window could open and I suggest putting a crack in it because there isn't air exchange otherwise. Soundproofing is decent, though there was a baby on our floor that cried all the time during the day. At night all was quiet. The firmness of the beds is good and the comforter is light but warm. I woke up sweaty a couple times. I think there must be an unbreathable mattress cover. The bathroom is pretty small with no bidet. The shower is in a tall tub. I had to be especially careful stepping in and out. There was no anti slip stuff in the bottom. The best part about bathing in Paris is the water. It is so nice my skin felt like I'd showered in lotion. The showers here gave a hand held thingy on a bar that is used to adjust the height. The hot water was aplenty, albeit a bit difficult to adjust the temp. A slight move can make it go from cold to steaming. The locks here are not electronic. We got a big ass key fob with a metal key attached. I just found out I was supposed to leave it at the desk when going out. I thought maybe that's why my room didn't get serviced. But no. I left the key the next day and came back to the room in the same condition. Maybe we were supposed to use the hang tag, though I've never been to a hotel that would refuse service unless I begged for it. The room lighting is pretty cool. The ceiling has a floating panel with lights behind it. It's nice, decorative indirect lighting. There also are lights behind the head board under a strip of frosted plastic. Embedded on one end of the strip are multi-voltage outlets. So if you have US electronics and forgot your adaptor, it'll work for you. The bathroom adaptor doesn't work, even though built to accommodate US plugs. So to use your stuff you'll need to take the adaptor into the bathroom or blow dry up behind the bed. We don't feel gypped but we didn't feel particularly welcomed or cared for. Maybe that's all we can expect at a budget hotel.

Yelp
Nice little hotel but very small rooms. Ok breakfast but very nice neighborhood and places to eat, near Metro!

Yelp
We stayed in Hotel Gaston last December, the hotel staff was very friendly and the room apparently clean, but the day we left I noticed a rash in the left side of my back, I thought it was an allergic reaction but after visiting my doctor in USA he told me that was bedbugs. Unfortunately i can't give them any star for that reason.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel January 24, 2018 through February 3, 2018. Long story short, my travel agency made a mistake with the booking and the first night of my stay I had no hotel. This hotel was sold out. (There was some confusion because I arrived at midnight and the travel agency got confused with the number of nights) The wonderful front desk staff called my travel agency and communicated my difficulty. The travel agency booked me at another hotel for the first night based on Hotel Gaston's recommendation. Okay, onto my hotel stay at the Hotel Gaston. They serve a beautiful daily continental breakfast. There is a wide variety of foods. I really, really enjoyed the orange juice there. It is the best I've ever had. The fruit was fresh and they had a nice variety of cereals. They also have coffee throughout the day and it is hot and fresh. My room was not huge but was not tiny either. The shower and bathroom were a pretty good size. This hotel was redone about 3 years before I stayed here, I believe I was told 2015 it was remodeled. I must say that the front desk staff was amazing for the whole time I was there. There were different people each day and they hold your key when you leave in the morning. It is pretty much required. I think that is pretty standard in Paris and maybe even in all of Europe. I definitely recommend this hotel and is pretty reasonably priced for what you get. The artwork in the room was really nice also. The location of the hotel is slightly out of the way but I enjoy walking through the streets anyhow. There was a handy little grocery store right down the street. Hotel Gaston is a charming hotel.

Yelp
Poor customer service. Charged me for hotel breakfast that I didn't eat. Tried to resolve with hotel but got nowhere.

Yelp
I stayed at the Hotel Gaston on November 28-30, 2019. Visiting from the United States, I was really impressed on the customer service we received. From when we first checked inn to the hotel when we left. Checking inn was so easy. (It was pretty funny when they gave us a big key vs the key card we're used to in the U.S. but hey it worked and did the job.) This hotel is about a good 10 min walk from the underground metro. POSITIVES -Room wasn't that big (nothing in Europe is) but very clean and very nice. -They gave us some welcome water bottles and cookie (that was a great touch) -We had a double bed and it was nice, I really enjoyed the fact you can open the windows. -Continental breakfast was good. They had bread, different chesses, coffee, juices, milk, cereal, fruits, meats and my favorite Nutella. -Front desk is open 24 hours and very helpful. -Bathroom was nice and clean. -Lock safe in room. NEGITIVES -Not much food restaurant around the area -The elevator to go to your room is VERY small TIP: They offer a shuttle to the airport and that was very helpful. (Make sure you book at least 24 hours in advance) I would recommend this to my friends and family and definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We left the morning of 4 July and the front desk lady was an absolute savior. We were frantic to get an Uber or taxi to the Gare Lyon train station; she quickly jumped to help and recommend running to the metro line 14, and we made it to our destination just in time! I wish I could thank her again.

Yelp
Friendly and nice quiet location If you're looking for a friendly little boutique hotel is the 17e Arrondisement, a very quiet neighborhood in Paris, then I recommend this place The rates are really affordable, and breakfast was great. When returning to Paris, I would certainly think about booking a room at this hotel. The rooms are on the small size, and the bathrooms are enough for 1 person. Yet, while in Paris, you spend much of the time walking and exploring, and the hotel room is for sleeping. See photos posted.

Yelp
Charming little hotel-small rooms as expected for a city as large as Paris. Very cute and styled in a classic Paris way. The staff was very nice and spoke English, great for tourists. The hotel is located outside the more populated part of Paris, however a few blocks away is a t-metro station that can take you to tourist sites, etc. A down side is the lack of parking near the hotel-we were sent to a parking garage a few blocks away by the reception desk, however walking there was a bit of a hassle and took 20 minutes. Another reminder is the age of the hotel, instead of a card key the hotel rooms have actual metal keys-meaning only one per room that would be very hard to replace as well as it being clunky. The elevator is very small, the capacity being 3 people.

Yelp
Hotel Gaston is in a fantastic area and in regards to affordability, it's pretty damn affordable. The hotel is super close to Bagnitolles and I ended up just walking to and fro nearly every night. There's also a few restaurants just downstairs from the hotel that you can easily walk to. You're in a relatively quiet and safe neighborhood. The staff was very friendly from the start. Instead of the usual cards, you get a key with a big ole' keychain that you drop off at the concierge desk whenever you leave the building. There's always a lovely receptionist at the desk 24/7 and checking in was a breeze. I even got early check-in at 9 AM right after I arrived which is usually unheard of. My room was rather small but pretty standard for a Paris hotel. A colleague of mine got a much bigger room so it was a toss up between the two of us. I didn't mind the space. The hotel was clean and the bathroom was tidied and compact. The breakfast provided is pretty standard fare and I can no longer eat any bread for at least the next few weeks because I somehow managed to get sick of it.

Yelp
If you are looking for a small, relatively inexpensive, boutique hotel - look no further. The location is in a residential neighborhood but very convenient to everything in Paris. The value cannot be beat - especially when you factor in a nice continental breakfast included in the price of the room. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Nitpickers may say the rooms and elevator are too small... but it did not affect my 5 star rating. We went with two families and got 4 rooms. Everyone was happy. I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
This hotel is very clean and very nice. The staff is super friendly. They have free breakfast every morning and complementary bottles of water. About 7 minutes from the Eiffel Tower. Excellent place to stay when visiting Paris.

Yelp
This is a great little place. Very quirky and friendly, and there is one concierge in particular who was very helpful and efficient and found me tickets for the philharmonie, which I would not have thought of on my own. Breakfast was good, too.
