Hotel Gavina Express

Great hotel and great location! No idea whats up with the other reviews? This is a cheap hotel in the middle of the city and people are expecting a 6 star experience and then get mad when they don’t have a butler waiting for them? This hotel was like $30 a night for context.

Situated on a pedestrian street, and close to shops and restaurants. The room is comfortable. And the price is reasonable. Unfortunately left too early to have the breakfast. However we could not get the hot water to come on. We waited at least 5 mins. When we talked maintenance, he said to CC wait at least 5 mins, so we waited at least 5 mins more. I went down stairs to talk to the front desk and she said room xxx? I think that’s the room where the temperatures are reversed. Sure enough, turned it all the way to cold and hot water came out! If you know that, why are you not sharing that with the rest of your staff???? Or better yet, fix it! Also we got stuck in the elevator. The got us out fairly quickly, but when reading the reviews, the elevator was broken last December! So definitely some maintenance issues that need to be resolved. Would stay again if not for those things.

The hotel is located within Arica's main shopping district and is close to every important landmark and travel agencies. ||Out room was 214, which had two bedrooms and two independent bathrooms with tube and shower. The air conditioned in one of the bedrooms was not working but the hotel compensated us by lending towels so that we could go to the beach.||Consider this is a short-stay hotel and as such, it only offers basic services: breakfast, housekeeping, front desk and free Internet. The hotel offers the option to store your luggage if your flight leaves from Arica later than check-out time.||||Rooms are clean and comfortable but old. Everything was extremely clean but needs renovation. ||Breakfast is good and the staff, who at first might seen inapproachable, are very kind and helpful. If you want to visit neighboring Tacna, consider asking the staff about the options||Arica is a safe city and next to the hotel there is a bank, a fast-food restaurant and many ice cream parlours.||||Arica's weather is hot, but bring a sweater or shawl for evening walks as the temperature variations might be uncomfortable for those coming from Santiago or areas that are over 35°C during the day.

For the price that I paid, it was really good. Simple, clean, good breakfast, nice internet connection, staff helpful. Nothing to complain about.... Of course, if you're used to something really 5 stars, this is not the hotel, which does not mean that it be bad, it is just a fair hotel.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, it's right in the centre of town, close to everything. |I wouldn't stay here again as it's quite expensive for what it is; the rooms need updating, the beds are not very comfortable and the breakfast isn't very good. The service is quite good.

The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly and. I liked the bed, it was quite soft, but the piece is very small, the bathroom is not very nicely decorated. Excellent location in the heart of the city

Good position, many parking next to the hotel||Rooms are small and not super clean|Very basic furnitures|Breakfast mediocre||Probably too expensive considering the place||I’ve nothing to add but I have to reach the minimum :)
