Hotel Ghiffa, a Design Boutique Hotel Ghiffa, Italy

"This charming property is the only lakeside hotel in Ghiffa. It has a swimming pool, private sandy beach area, and elegant restaurant; all with a breathtaking view across Lake Maggiore. Start your day with a rich breakfast. The restaurant has both à la carte and set menu options at lunch and dinner. You can choose from a diverse menu of regional, Italian and international dishes. Hotel Ghiffa is set in a 19th-century building and has an impressive, Art Nouveau design. The guest rooms and suites include all modern comforts such as Satellite TV and air conditioning and have furnished terraces with lake views. The Ghiffa Hotel has a bar where you can enjoy drinks and a lush garden where you can relax throughout the day. There is a secure, indoor car park and a private landing-stage for boats. The well-equipped meeting room can hold up to 30 delegates. Private trips around the lake can be organized at the hotel. Its central location makes it ideal as a base for hikes and bike excursions around the lake and the Val Grande Park." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

I had hoped that the negative reviews from previous years—about poorly cleaned, outdated rooms and subpar food—would no longer apply after the recent renovations. Unfortunately, not much seems to have changed.||The rooms are passable, but details disappoint: one small (warm) bottle of water for four people, and cheap plastic cups instead of proper glasses. Dinner service is Michelin-level in terms of formality and presentation—but the food is just as underwhelming as past reviews suggest.||Breakfast was, however, on another level entirely—the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had (and I’ve stayed at over 150 hotels). The selection was minimal, and the overall quality resembled something from a low-budget school cafeteria.||Dinner is included in the half-board package, but we ended up choosing a nearby restaurant just five minutes away instead. Frankly, I would rather pay extra not to eat at this hotel than the other way around—even though I’d already paid for it.||Also worth noting: lunch service ends at 12:00, and the beach restaurant only serves a toast and a very uninspired frozen pizza.

Simply a great hotel. Great staff, very friendly and welcoming. Especially the guy on the beach and in the bar. They always search for the best for the guest. Great food and beautiful views. Location is great. Hotel with a pool and a beach with plenty of space, food and drinks. Rooms are big enough and clean. Parking also available. I don’t say this very often but this hotel is just everything you’re looking for. Just good!

Family friendly hotel with spacious rooms at a great price. Private beach and pool area; its location offers the opportunity to walk along the lake or drive a few minutes to other attractions. Breakfast and dinner with an amazing view to the lake with top notch customer service ...there's nothing negative to say about this hotel and its staff. What an amazing experience we had...Arrivedeci🇮🇹🇮🇹❤🍺🍺🇮🇹🇮🇹!!!

Such a pretty and neat hotel, rooms are up to date, beds are really comfy! Private parking comes in really handy. Breakfast was great, beachbar down by the water is superb. Lovely staff! Village is small but the surrounding towns are nearby.

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ghiffa! The private beach on Lake Maggiore is the perfect place to relax, and the food at the restaurant was simply amazing. The friendly staff made the experience even better. Whether for a day or more, it’s the ideal spot to unwind. I’ll definitely be back and will recommend it to everyone! Matteo Mongini

I will never recommend this hotel. The AC doesn't work (you have to ask at the reception to turn it on...), it was 34 degrees during the day and like 26 degrees in the room st night, we could not sleep with the window open because there is traffic, the windows are poorly isolated anyway and you can hear all the traffic, so no good night sleep overall. The breakfast is standard, no fruits, nothing fancy. The furniture is old, cracked and yellowed out, doors are squeaky, and the towels are old, however, everything in good shape. Having breakfast or dinner on the terasse is a pain as there is a lot of traffic. The staff is not very friendly, besides Valeria who greeted us in the first day. Also, the hotel is facing east, meaning in the evening it won't have too much sun at the beach or pool. Additionaly, if you want to stay at the pool after you check out, they ask for 20 euro extra, because why not. Besides the location with theview at the lake and the old building there is nothing, nothing that I can recommend this place for. For 250 euro a night this is such a rip-off.

We have just got back from a ten day stay at this hotel. It was excellent. There is not a lot going on in Ghiffa itself but that is what makes it so relaxing and so in my view it is an ideal place to stay if you want to relax. It is also easy to access local busier towns via the regular boats and buses and these are very cheap. The staff in the hotel, from reception staff to the waiters, to the domestics are very professional and go out of their way to help you. Special thanks to Laura and Kienis (hope I got your name correct!) on reception. The hotel is tastefully decorated and very clean and the views are simply stunning. If you can, book a room with a terrace. We fell in love with Ghiffa and the people there. Twice, when stood at a bus stop, locals stopped their car to give us a lift into Intra! This hotel continues to promote the family feel and is somewhere that we will definitely return to.

Nothing was particularly wrong, everything was mediocre. Beach was nice and so was the pool. But the hotel is so incredibly overpriced that I would not recommend it to anyone. Facilities extremely old. Restaurant nothing special, they charge you 16€ for a salad.
