Hotel Gnanam

I recently stayed at Hotel Gnanam, referred by a friend(Mr.Jonny) whose relative owns this wonderful place. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed, and the service was exceptional. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making my stay very pleasant. The authentic South Indian food was absolutely delicious and felt like a true home-cooked meal. A special mention to the Owner(CEO), who is incredibly polite, humble, and welcoming. He personally ensured that guests felt comfortable and well taken care of, which made the experience even more special. I’m grateful to my friend for recommending this hotel and would highly recommend Hotel Gnanam to anyone looking for excellent hospitality and a memorable stay.

A truly excellent hotel! We had a wonderful stay. The staff was incredibly responsive and provided great service, making us feel very welcome. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The hotel's location is perfect, being very close to the Thanjavur temple and other attractions. The food, especially the complimentary breakfast, was very good and tasty. had the worst experience with the receptionist at this hotel. From the very beginning, the attitude was unwelcoming and unhelpful, which really set a negative tone for my stay. Instead of feeling like a valued guest, I felt dismissed and ignored. Hospitality should begin at the front desk, and unfortunately, this hotel failed in that regard. I hope the management addresses this issue, as it ruins what could otherwise be a decent experience.

All great. We had a very lovely stay and excellent responsive service. Clean rooms, great location Restaurant at the hotel excellent. Hot food served with care, very tasty. Manager Mr Jinmanar and staff Ms Pushpa at the restaurant, gave very good service. We felt their care like home. Very tasty food Thank you so much. Highly appreciate the whole team

Good budget hotel.Very close to big temple.Sumptous meals. They shoukd ease up on the garlic in many of the items.A senior person should be supervising the breakfast buffet as refilling is slow

Excellent hotel, superb sevice and spacious well maintained rooms. The food was a delight. Extremely well take care by each and every person. The person helping you with Igguage, the lady picking up the vessels, the person taking order for food, everyone. The ready to give best service attitude runs in the chain. Quite delighted with the stay.

We were given a room in the first floor with a view of the city outside. I complained. Although they could not find an immediate solution they offered us to relocate us to another room. However, we politely refused since we were anyway leaving the next morning.

Hotel is very easy to locate, as it's in a prime location in Thanjavur with all historical landmarks, bus stand, hospital etc close by. Eventhough the hotel is old, rooms were clean. Seemed the price we paid was more for the location than anything else. Breakfast came with decent options. Spotted a centipede in the bathroom which was little worrying. 🚗 parking is available within the premises but at the mercy of sun and availability at the mercy of restaurant crowd volume. Wi-fi provision is very scarce and not available for every room, staff was saying only one device can be connected at a time (not per room) which was ridiculous
