Ended up unexpectedly staying at this hotel for a week and a half last year (long story!). I had booked in for one night, but found the place convenient and comfortable, so that I decided to stay there for the rest of the time I had to remain in the city. My room was a good size, comfortably furnished, with aircon, satellite TV, and fridge in good working order. The bathroom (large shower but no bath) was modern, in good repair, and everything worked perfectly. The hotel was also spotlessly clean with very good cleaning, and prompt room service. The food and food service was good - lovely, varied breakfasts with quite a lot of hot and cold dishes to choose from, and adequate, freshly cooked evening meals (not exactly cordon bleu, but from what I remember, good, tasty, well cooked food for example, steaks, chicken, salads, etc. maybe other things, but I didnt eat there much & can't remember). Other facilities included an elevator up to a rooftop terrance, with sea and neigbourhood views, a few sunloungers, small pool, & tiny (slightly scruffy looking) bar that was unmanned at that time. It was not the height of luxury, but as there were builders working up there (it was the holiday low season) maybe it's changed some by now. Whatever, it was clean, and nice for a cooling dip after a day indoors or walking around the hot city. There was also free internet use in the business suite. The staff were very helpful & friendly and one or two of the reception staff could helpfully speak some English. So it was easy to arrange day trips, taxis, get information about buses, etc. The hotel location is good (although it's a 15-25 minute taxi ride into the old city centre, Pelhourino, as I recall. The staff can get you taxis, or if you ask, a bus, as the stop is almost outside the hotel. The hotel is located in what felt like a safe area one or two streets away from the beach, and is itself on a busy street and surrounded by banks, upmarket clothes shops, pharmacies, shopping malls, cinemas, cafes and eateries, and a hospital. On the down side, the hotel is a fairly bland building, on a busy road, and the view from my room was unlovely. But as I didnt intend to spend the days looking out of my window, it didn't matter. However, my room was quiet, the building seemed in good repair, was smartly decorated and well maintained inside. From what I could make out, the other guests seemed to predominantly include business people, and some tourists. It's a nice, safe, friendly, hotel, and I would stay there again.|
