My mom and I were two of the first 50 guests after the recent renovation. This quaint hotel is absolutely perfect. ||Perfect location. The hotel is right off of the 5 tram which goes to the hbf. Located right at the edge of Altstadt, you are out of the busiest part of town but close enough that you can walk to the important sites. ||Beautiful spacious rooms with a separate sitting area. The renovations were fresh and modern. Stairs are a bit narrow but there is a lift if you’d prefer!||Breakfast included. Delicious and a good selection. While I didn’t travel with my kids, I always take note of any high chairs and they do have one!||Helpful and friendly front of house staff always checked to make sure we were happy and asked if we needed anything. ||Conclusion: 1000% recommend!

Everything was OK. And also breakfast choice was great.

We have spent a night at this hotel and it was amazing. The hotel is located directly at the beginning of the Main Street of Heidelberg. The room was clean and well occupied. The personal was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was awesome. I really like my stay there. The only thing is that they don’t have a parking place but fortunately there is a parking near by. I would recommend it.

This three star hotel is hidden in a small side street right off of the Hauptstraße (the main street in the shopping district). It's near the Bismarkplatz. So, very centrally located. The furnishings and decorations are, partially, a bit kitschy but still very tasteful and for the most part modern. The rooms are quiet and clean. The staff is very friendly. They have a great breakfast buffet. The hotel offers a lot for a 3-star, like free tea and a water boiler, as well as slippers, bathrobe and other services on request. One of the best features: they offer valet parking - a rarity in Heidelberg.

After a lot of travelling we decided to treat ourselves. And we did. Great location although we did have a little trouble locating it, not on the main road as the address implies, but on a lane close behind. We booked two standard rooms and we're pleased to have one upgraded. Both were good size, the upgraded room with a full size bath and generous bathroom. Comfortable bed and friendly staff. There is off street parking but you must book it and it's not free.

This is the 4th time I have visited this hotel. I booked two rooms, apparently small rooms, and had some worry before I got there. My fears were not realised, as the room size is perfectly adequate for a short stay. I can imagine that finding the hotel might be tricky if you have not been here before, but look for the statue of the man reading the newspaper, and you are right on track. The room was clean and well equipped, and the shower was nice. I do not know whether there are any English speaking tv channels. Oh yes, reception will speak English to you if you need it, but are happy to indulge my German.||The hotel itself is 20m along the Hauptstrasse from Bismarckplatz, so you cannot be much more central. It does not have tea/coffee things in the rooms.||My favourite thing about this hotel is the breakfast. The breakfast room is light and airy, and as clean as you like. There is a good choice of meats, cheese breads, fish, eggs, fruit, yoghurts, and the coffee comes fresh. Sets me up for the day.||If I have to set targets they would be as follows: 1) No safes in rooms, and while reception are happy to keep valuables in their safe, it is an inconvenience to have to stop by and get money on a regular basis. 2) No A/C so nights can be quite warm.

Located a stones-throw from BismarckPlatz (the main bus/tram hub) this is an ideal spot from which to explore the Old Town. The area feels completely secure. It suited me perfectly.||||Golden Rose has comfortable, complete and clean rooms that have a recent feel. Staff are genuinely first-class. Did I mention the breakfast …? (See below)||||Through some odd architectural twist, the Hotel seems to have an atrium, where some cars are parked, and several wings. One wing heads towards the Hauptstrasse pedestrian area, in fact our window overlooked it. This wing is serviced by a 3-person lift. The other wing, including the breakfast room, is accessed by stairs. There seem to be larger rooms there. Make your preference known at booking, I guess.||||The breakfast is the best presented and widest variety of any ‘continental’ spread I can recall. The same can be said of the breakfast service. Breakfast is a banquet experience and reason enough to stay there.

We started our vacation with this hotel on the wrong foot - were given the room with broken air conditioner and were relocated to another room, tiny, with tiny bathroom and view of scaffolding. Next morning I spoke to the representative and the manager relocated us to a great renovated room with big shower and small terrace. Initially, I was taken aback by the front desk person, but, I guess, he was the only unpleasant person I talked to in this hotel. The night receptionist brought us milk for coffee and fixed our coffee machine (they have tea kettle too), breakfast ladies made us omelette from real eggs (ask for your eggs to be done the way you like them). Day receptionist fixed our room problem. Breakfast was good, enough to get me to two pm without hunger. Location is great, walking distance to everything. Room was quiet, good sleep, good water pressure in both rooms.||Try eating at HANS IM GLÜCK Burgergrill & Bar by Church of the Holly Spirit across from King George Hotel on market square. They have lunch option for appr 14 euro pp with sandwich, side and drink. We ate once at the stables, food is by weight, salads and main dishes, for two with drinks just under 20 euro (it is a student eatery, but I liked the food). ||My room # 21, room #25 is nice and big too, but check whether they fixed air conditioner if you come there in summer.
