Hotel Goldene Rose

Great location. We arrived late in the day but the instructions for late entry were very clear. Polite and welcoming staff. The room was very clean and pleasant. The breakfast buffett very tasty

I stayed at a hotel just 5 minutes from Bismark Place—very convenient for getting around. The breakfast was decent, with a good selection of fresh fruits. You can request a hot breakfast like omelets and bacon, though portions are limited to just two pieces.|However, the room lacked a few essentials: no kettle, no safe, and no lift in the building, which could be a challenge for guests with mobility issues. Overall, the location and breakfast were positives, but the missing amenities might be a dealbreaker for some.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel, right in the center of town. Very warm reception and helpful staff. My single room was simple, but very clean, quiet, good sleeping. Breakfast was amazing, so many options! I would definitely recommend this to a friend. You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed in the Heidelberg city centre hotel for a weekend in July 2025 - we were delighted with it. It’s just a 70/80 metres off the busy main shopping street, yet was peaceful and quiet and we got the impression it had JUST been renovated and modernised. The staff, especially receptionist Jenny, spoke immaculate English and could not be more helpful. We were also given a larger room than we expected (No 21) which was spacious, quiet and well air conditioned. The buffet breakfast was superb - beautifully presented each morning with a huge selection fruit, meats, cheeses, coffee, teas, etc etc with hard working staff ensuring everything was replenished. A really delightful hotel - would thoroughly recommend. Note: an old hotel so some areas like ours did NOT have a lift - check the room youre booking if you have mobility issues.

When we arrived after a 10 hour flight and a day of walking, we found earplugs next to our bed. We were kept up until 3:00AM by loud laughing, singing, yelling and talking. We were in room 19 for 3 miserable nights.

Outstanding service, beautiful space, rooms that are spacious and light, outstanding finishes, excellent taste… there isn’t one thing that is wrong or missing. |We arrived on a Sunday at 18:00 and left at 19:00 to go out to dinner. |Reception staff organised extra pillows for two of us even though there was no housekeeping staff in service at that hour. |She also gave us a recommendation for a restaurant nearby, the Min Ramen Bar, which was superb. |It does not have a lift but we love walking.

The hotel is located in a quiet side street just in front of the Bismarckplatz transport hub and in the distance of the old town. I was given a room upgrade to a large, well-equipped room with a huge bathroom! The room was sound proof and very quiet despite the crowds of people outside on a Saturday night and the breakfast selection was excellent. I rarely give 5 star ratings, but I can’t fault the Goldene Rose.

Absolute delightful stay. Rooms were impeccable, breakfast was delicious and the friendliness was first class.
