This would be my fourth stay at this hotel, and although the room lacks charm, it makes up for in cost and location. Sitting quite comfortably by the Gate Bridge along the Neckar River. The receptionists were very helpful and friendly. The charge for my mini dachshund is €15 daily.

The hotel is in very good location . The worst room I've ever stayed in. It seemed as if it was a utility room that had been converted into a hotel room (I think it was No. 16). There was no openable window (only a tilt one), so there was a second door for emergency use. We couldn't breathe. The furniture was poor, and some details were unacceptable for a hotel room. The bathroom was good. They gave us a different room from the one we had booked through booking.com. We asked to be given the room we had reserved, but they said it was unavailable. The area outside the window was full of trash (whatever was broken or destroyed was there, like a storage space). On the first morning, we ordered breakfast valued at 8.5 euros per person. No juice, no water, filtered coffee, four poor slices of bread (nothing like the quality of German bread). Butter, jams and two pieces of cheese in individual packages. Half of the fruits were stale and wrinkled. The next morning, we didn’t eat there.

Perhaps the worst hotel stay ever. When they say the rooms are “bright,” they mean that the draperies are thin and gauzy and that the hotel is surrounded with bright lights. It’s nearly as light as day all night long, and the noise factor is prodigious, too. Almost impossible to sleep here. The staff are completely indifferent to that fact, as well.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and bright with windows right in front of the river and bridge. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great stay.😃

Very well located, at the old town, near to the best Heidelberg attractions. The rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast reminds you of a family breakfast. The staff was very friendly and always ready to help us, the reason to consider it as a “family hotel”. A place to consider in a future trip to Heidelberg.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on our way to Austria and it was in a perfect town centre location opposite Heidelberg’s old bridge. We parked our car overnight at the Parkhaus Kornmarkt/Schloss P12 which was within easy walking distance of the hotel as we guessed that trying to drive straight to the hotel to drop off our luggage during peak afternoon tourist times would be a nightmare and we were right. The check-out receptionist provided a discount ticket for parking which ended up only costing €10 instead of the normal €17.50. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the busy Steingasse so there was no view to speak of, but it was a large clean room with comfortable bed and although the decor was dated it kind of fitted in with the ambience of this old building and ancient Heidelberg itself. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to this beautiful town.

After struggling to find this lovely hotel in the strange Heidelberg one way system, we were warmly greeted by a very friendly English speaking receptionist. |She was welcoming and extremely informative. In fact, having had a walk around Heidelberg, we decided to book an extra night. The reception desk is up the steep stairs on the first floor. Our room, despite the three exhausting flight of stairs was clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed. The double bed was nice and the room can only be described as beautifully quaint. |Breakfast, which costs extra was in s lovely room on the second floor. A very small compact breakfast room providing an excellent meal. |The hotel generally is very beautiful and serves good lunches and evening meals. I would recommend this place and would certainly stay there again.|A couple of tips - There is a car park by the funicular railway station (called P12). Simple route on foot to the hotel.|Eat at the University Refectory in the centre of town. You can get a good meal there for 4/5 Euros.

A lovely cozy place squat in the middle of old town surrounded by food places, bars and cafes. ||Highly recommended for the location!|The city center is a few meters away, so is the old bridge. ||Check-in was super smooth. There are no elevators in this hotel. You will be taking stairs to your rooms. Good to be mindful if you are carrying heavy luggage. ||The WiFi works perfectly. A bottle of water is complimentary. The bathroom offers linens, soap and some body wash. ||Sleep quality is good - mattresses are solid and firm. We could not hear any noises from the street. ||We had a little balcony as well to ourselves. |The place closes its front door at 9 pm but you have key access - good to be extra careful to carry those with you. ||Breakfast is available at an additional charge but we chose instead to sample the local bakery down the same street (which by the way is incredibly good!)|Parking is not available at the premises. It is however available in the public parking areas from where you will walk to this place. ||Highly recommended place with no complaints. |Would definitely want to come back !
