Arrived on a busy Friday afternoon, negotiated the pedestrianized area to drop off our luggage ( good navigation provided by the hotel) . The courtyard was full so we just parked in a nearby parking garage. €18 per day. Our room was beautiful, bed comfortable, bathroom very big and immaculately clean. Every member of staff was great. Breakfast is served in the cafe next door and there was plenty of choice, including freshly cooked eggs. We loved our stay in Regensburg and thoroughly recommend a stay at Goldenes Kreuz

The location is perfect. On a busy square with plenty of outdoor cafes and such an easy stroll to everything. The cafe next door provided a good breakfast. The check in is a little hard to find but just head up the elevator inside the glass doors in the arch. We had to wait until 2pm to check in but not a huge deal. The building is so old and our rooms were tricky. My Dads room, which they moved to accommodate his limited mobility, was reachable by elevator. Great. But our room, could only be reached from the steps in the rear of the building. It worked out fine and the rooms are hard to explain. Furnished like an old palace but very comfortable. We liked it and would stay there again.

Visited in April and had a lovely stay as a family. Our rooms were clean and the decor appealed to me. The lady at the front desk gave us a very warm welcome and was always approachable. The fold-out bed was of a good standard.

very nice inside and good location and sunny patio outside. staff seemed friendly and fine. but cappuccino not up to par. looked machine made. not the nice thick cream with a design on top. just foam. no cookie served with it. no napkin. wasn't provided a menu. had my coffee and decided not to stick around for anything more and find for my second cup and some breakfast a cafe that really takes pride in what they deliver. this place needs a barrista at the very least.

Booked a standard double room, incl breakfast for 3 nights.||Arriving at the train station we got a taxi to the hotel costing €6.40||There is a lift to take you to the 2nd floor where the hotel is located. There is a good level of security with locked doors on the ground floor and up on the 2nd.||Very pleasant check in and we were shown to room 2.||Our room was very large and bright..nice large comfortable bed, lots of closet space with several chairs and tables and 2 lovely mirrors. The easy chairs were actually comfortable. A lovely chandelier too. There is a tv(not turned on) and 2 bottles of mineral water are provided each day which is a nice touch. We thought the room charming and very different to the usual hotel rooms.||Our room overlooked the square. The view is lovely. We were staying weekdays. Even so, the windows need to be closed when sleeping, due to loud late night revellers and early morning deliveries.||Bathroom had nice walkin shower and was a good size and the water was hot. Plenty of towels too.||Everything was spotless. The wide hallways had flowers on tables and big mirrors and chandeliers. ||Staff are not there all the time.||||Breakfast is served in restaurant next door. It has a lovely ambience about it. Basically you order whatever you want off their menu, which was very good value..good food, generous quantities and friendly service....They have an english menu if that helps.||We loved the location..right in the middle of town and everything was within an easy walk distance.||Staff organized a taxi to return us to the station and the cost was about €7||This hotel had everything that reminds me of a great stay to make it and lovely Regensburg memorable.

Exceptional location, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and great breakfasts. All of this in a building with many centuries of history, including hosting royalty. The enormous central beam supporting the building is 800 years old, our room (12) had a great view of the timbers supporting the ceiling. ||Overall great value when staying in this small, family owned boutique hotel.

Generally a very pleasant room, however, the bathroom was very small and WiFi was very inconsistent. Room included B/Fast which was taken in the cafe nextdoor. Varied a la carte menu but service was also varied. Different staff each day and slow service. Not being informed that breakfast started an hour later on Sunday we were left waiting for along time.

Superb location, historic hotel and exceptional hospitality. The hotel has been the lodging for the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire when he came to Regensburg for a meeting during the Middle Ages, and I guess there is no need to stress the historical value and feel in this place. The restaurant is also very and exquisitely decorated. The included breakfast offers so much food that I basically skipped lunch during the my stay here. Will definitely book again if I ever revisit Regensburg. Highly recommended.
