We found this hotel through British Airways and we were very pleased we did. It’s perfectly located for the old town. Sited up a narrow alley off the Residenzplatz, this is a small but perfectly-formed small hotel in the Altstadt. |We were greeted very warmly by our gracious hostess, Ulrike, and conducted to our spacious and comfortable room. Lovely bed, nice pillows, ample seating, TV and fridge.|It has only 16 rooms, so it doesn’t get crazily busy. It’s calm and relaxing, even though it’s close to the Christmas markets.|Breakfast was exquisite: a lovely mixture of cheeses, ham, sausage, fish, a variety of breads, cake and pastries, and a choice of cooked eggs. It was also a real treat to be served at our table by wonderful waitresses rather than having to serve ourselves. |I can’t think of anything they could do to make this better. It’s perfect.

What a lovely little hotel in the Altstadt in a cute little laneway, the ‘Gold Alley’.|Outstanding personalised service from Ulriyke - what a delightful lady, an absolute asset to this hotel. She is enough of a reason to return and we will.|Room was quite small and the floor was a little too creaky but it was very clean and comfortable. Fridge, kettle and the complimentary mini bar and snacks were a great edition. The onsite restaurant was also lovely.|Thanks Ulriyke, we will talk about you at every opportunity when we recount our time in Salzburg

From the warmest welcome imaginable with a glass of Sekt to the comfy bed, the central location and absolutely delicious, abundant breakfast, we can't fault this delightful hotel. Our room was large and beautifully decorated with delicate ceiling stencils contrasting with bold yellows and reds, which worked well. The bathroom was luxurious with an enviable shower. We were impressed at the thoughtful touches for example an umbrella, complimentary drinks in the fridge and a shoehorn resting on the coat rack. Ulrike couldn't have been lovelier and more helpful, and Beatrix, the breakfast waitress, was delightful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Salzburg - and wish we were still here.

OMG! This is one of the best hotel experiences of my life travelling all over the world. It was like disappearing into wonderland. The rooms and decor are incredible. It is hard to overstate the impact of Ulrika's welcome. Room service food was pure fine dining. Amazing place. My only choice if I am in Salzburg again. Thank you all so much.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Goldglasse. It is a very small hotel. There is no lobby just a little room where we checked in by a delightful lady (sorry I didn't catch her name). She offered us a glass of sparkling wine or tea and then showed us to our room. The room was very spacious with a separate seating area. The bathroom was clean, bright and modern and the shower was great. The little details sometimes make or break a hotel stay for me and there was such great attention to detail here. There were luxury feeling products in the bathroom including conditioner and body lotion which you often don't get. There was a kettle as well as a high quality coffee maker. Even the hairdryer was of a much better standard than normal hotel hairdryers. The bed was very comfortable. The location is great - right in the old town and not more than 10 mins walk from all the main sights. Lovely bakery at the end of the road (turn right out of the hotel). Overall a great little hotel that I would highly recommend.

Just returned from 3 night stay at the Hotel. On arrival met the lovely Ulrika who welcomed us with a glass of fiz. The Hotel is the heart of Salzburg and has easy access to all sites. We ate in the Hotel restaurant for 2 nights where the service and food was outstanding.Room we had number 14 was on the first floor and was nice and quiet. The Christmas market was excellent and located at the end of the street.|Would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone visiting Salzburg and this will not be our last visit. Many thanks to Ulrika and the hotel staff for making our stay very special.|Steve & Sue

A charming boutique hotel right in the heart of Salzburg's Altstadt, made extra special by our hostess, Ulrike, who is an absolute gem. |The hotel is spotlessly clean, and offers well-equipped rooms with comfortable beds. Service is excellent, and wonderful - served - breakfasts (no buffet here), and a warm and friendly and atmosphere are exuded in this opera themed hotel.|We sincerely hope to be back at the Goldgasse in the not too distant future.

First and foremost the customer service and Ulrike whom greeted us was warm, welcoming and provided a level of hospitality we do not experience very often. We had booked another hotel on Christmas and upon our arrival found out that we had booked for the day before and did not have a room for the evening. We were able to find a room at Hotel Goldgasse and Ulrike could immediately tell we were stressed with it being Christmas. She offered us a glass of champagne, some cookies and overview over the hotel and told us that we were in good hands. We were so happy to have a room and really lucked out getting a room here. The food, the hospitality, the location, and the things to do here are mind blowing. It was a blessing in disguise. We cannot wait to come back to Salzburg to stay here again on a future visit. Thanks again Ulrike!!!!
