Hotel Goldgasse, an SLH Hotel

Delightful friendly welcome, including a glass of sparkling wine. Rooms on first floor were charming and comfortable with convenient pod espresso machines, nice linens and well lighted bathroom. Only tiny disappointment was smaller size of shower, but that is understandable in an old building. Restaurant was charmingly wood beamed and simple in decoration, and had excellent service and great food, either for breakfast or dinner. Great location for xmas markets, was literally a 2-3 minute walk.

Fantastic hotel with amazing staff and perfect location. Hotel Goldgasse is perfectly situated with convenient, walkable access to everything you want to see in Salzburg. At the same time, it's off the main thoroughfares, so it is very quiet at night. A charming hotel, well updated and decorated, with spacious rooms and modern amenities. We had a Jr Suite and had plenty of space, much larger than most boutique type hotel rooms, and at a very reasonable price. I cannot say enough about how awesome the staff is here. Ulrike and Bernard greeted us like family and were always around when we needed any kind of assistance. They gave us great advice on places to visit and restaurants. Ulrike is omnipresent, she seemed to appear out of nowhere whenever we had a question or needed anything, and one of the friendliest and happiest people we have ever met. Hands down the most personable service we have ever received at any hotel ever! Don't bother staying anywhere else, you can't beat the total package that you will receive at Hotel Goldgasse. The restaurant in the hotel is fantastic as well. The continental breakfast includes so many delicious items and the service in the restaurant is top notch as well.

5 stars Just got back from staying at Hotel Goldgasse in Salzburg’s Old Town and wow, what a great spot! The staff were amazing – super friendly and helpful, like world-class service that made me feel right at home from check-in. Breakfast was hands down one of the best I’ve had – everything tasted so fresh and delicious, and it looked like a total work of art on the plate. Loved all the local goodies they used. The rooms and amenities were really thoughtful too, with nice little touches everywhere that just made the stay extra comfy and special. It’s tucked in this cute pedestrian street, perfect for wandering around all the sights. I highly recommend it if you’re heading to Salzburg – you won’t be disappointed!

This is our 2nd visit to this hotel, the location for the Christmas markets and old town is perfect, all so close to the hotel. The rooms are well appointed but the main reason we came back was the service from Ulrika, I really hope the ownership recognizes her hard work and appreciation for how well she represents the hotel and makes each guest feel special. I neglected to get the name of the gentleman (from Mallorca) who I believe is the restaurant manager during the day, but he was very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Such a great experience, thank you.

Many years travel. 39 countries. Never have I had this experience. 16 hand crafted rooms, built for comfort. A service I’ve only come close to a a Castle in Scotland. Ulrike was a joy, motherly in showing us the hotel and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the stay I’m still in shock, amazement, and just happy there are still great hotels and great people in the world.

We couldn't have stayed in a better place, it was so convenient for everything we wished to see and do. The hotel was beautiful with lots of little details that enhanced our visit. The hotel is small which we prefer as the staff make you feel special. The breakfast was copious and delicious. Everyone was so helpful especially Ulrike who manages the hotel. A wonderful stay!

The perfect little hotel was our selection of Hotel Goldgasse for a long weekend with friends on our first visit to Salzburg. From the warm reception with the hotel towels and the champagne, our hotel host Ulrike made a difference. She provided us with directions and the utmost service our entire stay. The location was so convenient for dropping off our shopping parcels or resting in between excursions. The hotel room was cozy and opened to a pedestrian street view. The room amenities with the retro mini refrigerator were cool, and I loved the personal care products. We were fortunate to have one fantastic dinner at the hotel. That set the bar high for the wine choices and entrees. We also enjoyed a fabulous breakfast there thanks to our hosts. Tip: the room lights and en-suite bathroom lights are controlled by a master light switch. The in room air conditioner works if your windows are closed.

We stayed here in Aug 2025. Fantastic location and beautiful hotel. The hostess Ulrika was amazing. She welcomed us and offered sparkling wine and soft drinks whilst she checked us in. She suggested places to visit and places to eat. She escorted to our wonderful rooms, a very personal touch. The breakfast was amazing and room bar had soft drinks and water for us to use free of charge. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Lovely.

Beautiful hotel and fabulous location. The hotel was awarded a Michelin Key in 2024 and 2025. Located in the heart of Old Salzburg. Everything is within walking distance. Mozarts birthplace, the Cathedral, great restaurants and shopping. This charming hotel combines medieval charm with contemporary comfort. Housed in a 16th-century coppersmith workshop the hotel has the original stone floors and stylish modern décor. Service is exceptional. Ulriki, treated us with personal 5 star service. When we arrived she greeted with warm towels and a glass of Prosecco. She personally escorted us to our room which was wonderful. The complimentary mini bar was filled with water and soft drinks. Our 2 night stay here was wonderful. I can't emphasize enough how perfect the location was. I highly recommend this hotel.

Everything about our experience at Hotel Goldgasse was a 5 star. We were greeted at check in with a big smile, hot towels, and a glass of sparkling elderberry infused water, and amazing customer service. We were later taken to our room where we found a beautifully decorated room with a gorgeous view down in to the streets of Salzburg. The only thing I would have to say is that if you are a light sleeper you might want to request a room on the other side of the building if at all possible. We could hear people outside walking around throughout the night, but we also kept our window open the entire night and it did not bother us at all. The restaurant attached to the hotel is a Michelin star. We unfortunately didn't get the chance to eat there. Anyways, look no further and book this hotel already! I promise you wont regret it. GREAT LOCATION!

Hotel Goldgasse is super old town hipster inside, we loved the rooms! Easy walking to take in the surrounding streets and food here!. ;)
