Hotel Goodwin

We had a wonderful night at the Hotel Goodwin. We did feel like it was wonderfully luxurious with bathrobe supplied, a sublime shower, overall a very well appointed room and very comfortable bed. It had a boutique quality to it. We went to Beloit college long ago in the early '80s and it's very apparent that Beloit has gone through some major transformations. This wonderful hotel is a great expression of how Beloit has come back to life. It's got a new fresh energy and it was very nice to have a record player and the vinyl LPs to put on the turntable. Staff was very friendly and informative.

Had a lovely night at the Hotel Goodwin. The staff was friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in the door (shout-out Tommy). The rooms are gorgeous and well appointed, the record players with a curated selection of records to set whatever mood you're looking for are a great touch. The showers are massive and luxurious, and the beds are comfortable. If you're looking for a great place in Beloit, the Hotel Goodwin is it.

Loved the hotel! Our two dogs were welcomed too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was that the Rooftop Bar was closed for a private event and we were looking forward to having a drink there and looking at the Christmas lights. Otherwise, the experience was wonderful!

This hotel had the feel of a downtown Chicago stay. I especially loved the boutique feel with black ceiling in the bedroom, and black tile on the bathroom floor. The turntable and records in each room was indeed a throwback and felt very cozy. Parking right next door is extremely easy and the Saturday morning Farmer's Market is not to be missed!

Living in the Chicago area when moment arrive that warrant a night away from home you almost always to to Chicago. Only one hr from our home is Beloit and I found the Hotel Goodwin online and after a little searching decided to come here instead. It was the best decision I have made for celebrating with my wife. ||||The boutique hotel is amazing from the staff to the very unique styling and furnishings of the rooms. The glass enclosed shower was very cool. What got my attention was that I travel almost weekly and spend a lot of time in hotels and not just travel hotels. I see paint chipping in those rooms or over all lack of excitement to be at work. the travel hotels are just tired looking and cost the same as the Hotel Goodwin.||||This hotel is spectacular. The cleanliness and professionalism will win anyone over just like it did us.||||I am coming back and want to come back in the summer months Beloit is redone downtown and the group that owns this hotel has other properties including a great coffee shop which we went to the morning we left. Come here you wont be dissapointed.

This is a beautiful and unique hotel. We loved the lobby and the restaurant was outstanding. We hope to stay again when in town. The records in each room was a nice surprise. The hotel rooms are quiet which is so important. The decor is stunning throughout. We didnt expect this in Beloit. This type of hotel would be expected in a large city for 3 x the price. Great find.

The Goodwin was wonderful and comfortable. We enjoyed the staff and the complimentary, surprise bottle of sparkling wine topped off our stay. The location was perfect to walk around the farmers market, find dinner, and walk to Henry Dorrbakers.The rooftop bar was a great spot to sit and relax. Thanks again for making our anniversary weekend fun!

Headed up to Beloit and to the Hotel Goodwin with friends for a overnight stay on a Friday night. Had dinner at the Velvet Buffalo which was simply incredible. finished the night at the rooftop bar, and then enjoyed the modern amenities that still pay tribute to rock-n-roll history. This is a fabulous place to stay.

Enjoyed my stay. Mixture of old and new. Room was comfortable with a vinyl record player. Art was mostly black and white with a "Cabaret" style. Was a welcome change to the cookie cutter hotels found along our major highways

This hotel was near perfect and I could see why it's Michelin rated. I don't usually stay in boutique hotels but when looking at the nearby major chains, they didn't look appealing. The room was clean and had a rustic modern feel. When the carpet is beige, you know they have to take care of it consistently. Everything had a plush feel. The shower had a rainfall showerhead and a handheld. There's a scent that emanates throughout the hotel and into your room. It's light and adds to the ambiance. It's also in the sheets and linen too. I guess that adds to one of the negatives I list later in that the HVAC seems to be centrally controlled. There was some very minor debris in the sink that may have been left from wiping of a dirty rag, but that was mostly it. Gym was nice and parking was plentiful and free. What I didn't like: - Mini fridge in the room had a lot of snacks and other drinks that I assume were for sale. I usually pack my own food, so those items took up some space in the fridge - I get cold easily, so I try to adjust the thermostat, but it's centrally controlled, which I've never seen... I'm assuming all of the rooms are regulated in this way... - Breakfast bar- had bare minimal which I really don't mind. I really wouldn't expect a place like this to serve you breakfast unless it was full service. Would definitely come back

What a great find! We stayed here for a 2 day weekend while my son races at Blackheart Farms. Great staff. And the best Shower ever! I would definitely recommend it

Great hotel in downtown Beloit. It's been redone in a "speak easy" motif. Rooms are spacious and include a phonograph with a selection of vinyl LPs (that's 33 rpm records, for you youngsters). Room has a huge shower with a rainforest head. Also has a mini bar in the room. Only negative point is there was no refrigerator or microwave. Great restaurant located just off the lobby for a fine dining experience. Does not have full breakfast but does have grab and go muffins, fruit, coffee, etc. They also have a rooftop bar where one can sit inside or outside. Full bar with good bartenders. Menu is limited but still plenty to choose from. We had an order of mussels and a charcuterie tray. Both were very good. Our bartender was Colton and he took good care of us.

We've stayed at this hotel twice in the last year for an adult overnight sans kids. It's a beautiful hotel that's a surprise to find outside of a major metro area. Beautiful fixtures, very clean, comfortable beds. They even include a record player to play records on in the room. It's super convenient to have Velvet Buffalo just downstairs and a cocktail lounge upstairs. If you live in the area and want to get away without traveling too far, this is the place!

This is one of my favorite hotels of all time! I've stayed at this boutique hotel about 7 times now and have had a 5 star experience each time. Hotel Goodwin holds a special place in my heart because we stayed here for my wedding and they made the experience absolutely perfect for my guests and I. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and special. On my wedding day, I was losing my voice so the front desk continuously would bring me hot tea and honey. This past weekend when I stayed at Hotel Goodwin, Jonathan was working at the front desk. He greeted us with so much enthusiasm and suggested so many things for us to do in Beloit during our stay. He also generously gave us some free drink cards for the hotel rooftop bar. Pro tip: ring the large bell at the front desk if Jonathan is working, he loves it! The rooms are beautiful and all have record players inside. There are tons of records decorating the wall behind the front desk. You can request different albums for your room during your stay. The musical theme is incorporated throughout the hotel; they have photos of different artists all throughout, records and turntables in each room, and musical decor. Both the Velvet Buffalo restaurant and the rooftop bar are must sees! They have delicious food and drinks, wonderful service, and a great vibe. The rooftop bar has gorgeous views of downtown Beloit both inside and outside. My wedding party actually got ready on the rooftop the morning of the wedding and it was spectacular! I truly can't say enough good things about Hotel Goodwin. I highly recommend staying here!

This hotel is in Beloit, Wisconsin, but is easily... did I say eeeaasily on par with the better hotels in which I've stayed in bigger cities like Seattle, Boston, and NYC. Absolutely excellent. Whoever stylized this place popped off! I mean, the selections of photography, and every wall treatment, paint choices, fixtures, lighting, attention to detail... are all on fleek. It's sexy, glamorous... without feeling pretentious. It's inviting and comfortable. It has a luxuriousness to it, but it's not so sumptuous that it insists upon itself. I really wish I could stay at this hotel in different cities too. Lol. I mean, take it with me when I travel!? hmmm ;) Seriously, nice hotel!

We stayed here 3 nights for an anniversary getaway. We loved it!! Staff was helpful & friendly. The hotel smells amazing... I had to ask if they had a signature scent. (They do!!) And the room was lovely. We had a signature room, I believe. It was a corner with lots of windows and natural light. The shower is amazing. The toiletries are luxurious. Bed is okay... I've experienced more comfortable beds/mattresses at other less expensive hotels, but I still managed to sleep. Breakfast was muffins, scones, fruit, oatmeal and Greek yogurt options. Our stay was perfect for our anniversary and we would love to stay again sometime!!

My family and I traveled to Beloit for a wedding, and I booked via a third-party, however, upon arrival I had made the grave error and mixed up the dates for the booking. At a moment of sheer panic, Jonathan simply (calmly) engaged the sister hotel across the street, The Ironworks Hotel, and connected with Kelly. Together they quickly fixed my mistake!! the hotels were beautiful, the food fabulous (we also ate at Truk't... sooo good!). the entire downtown was fun and cute... and I defiantly want to return. I cannot thank Jonathan enough!!! Kelly too at the Ironworks. Both of these hotels are beautiful, and I would recommend over and over again!

Amazing space and absolutely gorgeous. Overwhelmed with how cute the hotel and town of Beloit is. Visited two local restaurants where the food was amazing. The only downside to the hotel was that the rooftop was closed. The small and mighty breakfast was very tasty. We stayed in the suite and it was perfect. The bed was comfortable and the shower was so relaxing.

My wife and I absconded off for a quick weekday getaway for our anniversary. My wife picked the place and I never had a chance to look at their website. We walked in and I was blown away. The place has a really cool vibe, excellent decor and the rooms were super nice. Everything was high end from the trim work to the light fixtures. I was very impressed. And as a bonus they have record players in every room with a small selection of records. The staff was very polite and attentive. I was very impressed and I'd definitely recommend.

I'm surprised this great boutique hotel doesn't have more than 5 reviews. I've been here for several nights, winter and summer, and it's always outstanding. The appeal is immediate when you walk in. The historic building has been completely updated. The air is custom scented and music plays subtlety in the background. Service is great from check in to check out. The rooms are large and handsomely furnished. The decor is dark and masculine. Toiletries are some of the nicest I've ever encountered in a hotel. (I don't bring my own anymore.) The only downside is that it is small and can sell out.

This hotel is trying hard & the staff is wonderful. It's just unusual to have a shower (glass shower, for that matter) in the bedroom. But the most important thing is that people are friendly, everything is clean, and one of a kind downtown stores are just around the corner:

Absolutely the BEST HOTEL that we've stayed at in years!! My husband and I stayed with friends for my 40th Birthday and were blown away by every single inch of the Hotel! From the friendliest staff to every detail they included in our room, accommodations, check in ... Everything!!! We had a Bloody Mary bar delivered to our suite in the morning along with a charcuterie board with champagne the evening prior, it was top notch to say the least!! It was absolutely perfect! We will be staying again very soon!!

Absolutely stunning...from the minute we walked in the door. We had a delayed wedding from pandemic and hadn't been there for over a year but they didn't disappoint. The professional service abounds. The entire place also smells fabulous. Our room was immaculately cleaned and serviced. We were greeted upon arrival and departing with a smile and our names. Without fail. Accolades...You are doing customer service correctly and enjoying it...nothing seemed forced from staff. Kudos!! The Day Family. This is a delightful boutique hotel.

Wow! An absolute surprise in good ole Belwah! Our room is huge, extremely comfortable, and we had a great selection of albums to play on the turntable. Ate dinner last night in the Velvet Buffalo and the service and food was outstanding. A really great addition to Beloit's downtown and I can only imagine it is already sold out for graduation next Spring. I am still just blown away how amazing this hotel is - absolute must stay. We will be back for sure.

A huge shout out to Mahalia for over the top amazing customer service!!!! I called to order some room spray for a gift to be shipped, and she was so nice to describe some of their other items they offer in the gift shop. The room spray smells amazing and the coasters are great too!

Exceptional service and vibes at this hotel! My husband and two kids stayed here one night (Christmas Eve to Christmas morning). As soon as we walked in the front door a very pleasant aroma hits you and a smiling face is waiting for you at the front counter. (Seriously want that scent in my home!) The woman at the front counter was very pleasant and offered a pack and play for our daughter who is 6 months. It was in perfect condition and great quality, not even looking like it had ever been used. We booked the standard double queen room and were blown away when we walked in. The decor is far from overwhelming, and made us feel like we were in a master suite bedroom- very comfortable and homelike. (Even had great vinyl options for the ion turntable in the room!) [you can swap out your records at the front desk during your stay] The shower was amazing, double shower head with a rain shower option, spacious and the soap selection smelled fantastic! The smart tv was huge and worked great for our 2 year old son, as we were able to log in and out of our Netflix and Amazon Prime account to watch his favorite movies during our stay. The service from the bartender downstairs was top notch! He made us feel very welcomed and made great conversation with us as we went with everything he recommended on and off the menu! The employees who assisted and greeted us Christmas morning as we checked out, were nothing short of exceptional. It was Christmas morning, they could/should have been home with their families, but they had a genuine smile on their faces, very cheerful in spirit of the holiday and made us feel confident in our return one day! Would recommend to any and return again! 10/10

Fabulous hotel! Highly recommend. Everything about this place is terrific. It's very new, so it has all the up-to date style finishes. Bed is super comfy. Rain shower head is a dream. Very convenient to a great local coffee shop (Blue Collar) and various restaurants I walking distance (sushi, Italian, gourmet burgers, craft tacos, etc). Love the free parking and fast, free wifi. The hotel staff is very friendly and attentive, especially Amelia in guest services.

Super clean awesome hotel friendly staff. Perfect little get a way. The shower is awesome! Will be back.

This is the BEST Hotel I have ever stayed in. I have stayed in expensive places in the magnificent mile on Michigan Ave in Chicago and this place is heads and tails better than those hotels. The decor is modern and classy all the way. The front desk ladies were very nice and always had smiles on their faces when they seen us. The glass shower in the rooms are genius and the robes and bed were soo comfy we almost just skipped going out for the night. The cologne they pump into the hallways really put them over the top for me, this isn't something they have to do but that lil touch of class went a long way in showing they care. We will be back as much as we can.

I wish I could give this place a 10. Far exceeded my expectations. Went here for husband's birthday. It was so refreshing to stay somewhere with character and charm. Not just a sterilizing chain hotel. We had a record player and a selection of vinyl records in our room. Very large room- had the signature king. A corner room with lots of windows. Had room darkeing shades and regular shades. The bathroom was impressive. Definitely worth the drive from Lake Geneva. We will go back.

Just wanted to write a review for the Hotel Goodwin. This is a new hotel inside a nearly 100 year old building in the downtown Beloit area. I'll start by saying the room is awesome.. the interior design is amazing very classic and just really cool! The room layout is great and even though the all glass shower is in the middle of the room it still works!! Hotel Goodwin is a boutique 'y style feel that my wife and I really like.. we had dinner in the dining room last night and the flatbread was delicious .. menu was a little small but totally understandable for a brand new operation.. bartender was on point as well. The staff is also great .. we had a few special requests and they handled them with smiles on! We travel a lot and this was an absolute pleasure ... great job Hotel Goodwin.. highly recommend!!!

This place was amazing the staff was super nice and polite. The rooms are amazing the showers and awesome the beds are cozy and clean. I would recommend this hotel to any and everyone who is looking to get away to a fantastic hotel.
