The new worst hotel experience of my life! This hotel fails at providing maybe the most important feature of a hotel room: seclusion. The only single window, that gives to the hotel lobby is the cause. As seen in the picture below, a view from inside of the room, the chairs and elevator are in front of the room. The window is not isolated at all (not even a 10€ isolation tape you can get from any hardware store). You hear day and night people, talking, Phone calling, snoring, carrying their luggage right in front of you as if you were in a tent in the lobby. And they can hear you too. Thus you get little sleep or accoustic intimacy. Of course the air flow is bad and the steam from the showers can't escape, making the room smell bad and be way to warm at all times. You can not leave the room with the AC on, since the keys to the room also shut down the power. Of course this is against the spanisch and european regulations simultaneously. (air flow and accoustic) These rooms should not be considered commercial hotel rooms, and nobody should be charged sleeping in them. This review only applies to the room we had on ground floor. P.S. The room is clean and the staff is friendly, but so were probably the 2 cockroaches we found in the room. The location is good though.

I have one big warning…make sure that you pay in advance prior to your stay! I booked this hotel via hotels.com using the “Pay at Property” option and my reservation was cancelled prior to my arrival.||||Communication with the hotel was poor, which led to a major disconnect. I tried contacting the hotel twice via its email address at hotelgoya@hotelgoyasevilla.com about other matters (e.g. late check in and parking), but never received any response. I received a message via the hotels.com website requesting passport information, which I provided. Then I received a second request concerning passport information via hotels.com after I provided the info (I started suspecting that there may be communication issues). Two days prior to my visit, I received an email from expedia.com (parent company of hotels.com) requesting that I contact the hotel about payment. Since the hotel was unresponsive in writing, I to struggle to figure out a way to call since I was already in Spain. Communicating the best I could in Spanish, I was told by the hotel agent that he all was good for our visit. I ended the conversation stating that I was looking forward to our stay two days later.||||When I arrived late in the evening (I had previously advised that we would be checking in late both in writing and during my call), I was told by the desk agent that my reservation had been cancelled because I had not yet paid. I showed my reservation, which indicated that I was supposed to pay upon arrival. Apparently, it was cancelled by Hotel Goya without any notification (at least I did not receive anything from hotels.com). As a result, I was left scrambling to find a place to stay very late at night. Of course nothing was available close by, so I had to settle for a location at the end of town. ||||There was an obvious disconnect in the understanding of terms and conditions of our reservation between Hotel Goya and hotels.com. I have taken this up with hotels.com. Just be advised that “Pay at Property” is not a viable option for Hotel Goya.

Modest Hotel yet excellent location and clean rooms makes it a great deal for the price. The only issue we had was with the sink smell after return if you have left the toilet door open.

The hotels suggested parking is 400 meters from the hotel. It is very crowded with small spaces (this is normal for Spain). Once I pulled up to the entry gate, the 'full' sign came on. As there were cars in line behind me, we had to wait for someone to exit (10 min) before allowed entry. The hotel is old and small (no unlike most in downtown areas). The staff are unhelpful. Asked if there was a recommendation for lunch and was told every restaurant is excellent! No help. Asked where we could get laundry done and were told the only option was from the hotel at an unknown price, but probably about 50-60 Euros or go do it yourself at a laundry mat. We found a place next to the car park and had it washed, dries and folded for 15 Euros. The beds were exceedingly hard. No smart TV and a 1 meter bathtub. I only give the place a 6.

I agree with all the other reviewers that the location of the hotel is excellent. Its right in the middle of old quarter of Seville. The staff were friendly and polite and the hotel is clean. The big issue was the size and style of our bedroom. It may be that we were unlucky but Room 117 is the smallest hotel room that I or my wife have ever stayed in. An issue that was more disappointing was the fact that the only window in the room was not to the outside but was into the hotel corridor. This meant that we had to keep the curtain closed and it was noisy. It felt like we were in a convent or possibly a prison cell.

This hotel does what is says on the tin. It is in the most central location in Seville, just a couple of hundred meters from the cathedral and surrounded by dozens of bars. ||The hotel was clean, safe, fairly quiet and although it didn’t have many amenities, it suited our needs perfectly.

A perfect quiet oasis in the heart of the historical district and an easy walk to major sight (The Cathedral, The Alcazar, The Barrio). Rooms are cozy and clean. Each room has its own air conditioning unit. The service is excellent.

We booked the day before our overnight trip to Seville so possibly got a particularly cheap rate but it was excellent value. Twin rooms were small but perfectly clean with good beds and linen. Located very close to the cathedral in the Santa Cruz area so easily walking distance to most must see tourist spots. The public areas were beautifully tiled with lots of traditional wood too.|| Word of warning- don't try to drive a large vehicle in the narrow streets nearby - it doesn't work!
