Garner Hotel Hamburg - Graf Moltke by IHG

Not a great hotel, mostly down to the area it’s in (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof) which is an absolute dump full of D*** addicts, drunkards and migrants who are not friendly which to anyone looking to go do NOT stay in this area. But also the hotel rooms were a little basic and the breakfast left a lot to be desired. Only nice thing really was the lady receptionist was quite friendly and gave directions to where we wanted to go but definitely would not recommend to most people- mostly down to where it is but also the hotel isn’t exactly attractive

What's not to like. Paid €99 for a Twin Breakfast included. ||Older historic building, high ceilings no a/c. Soundproof unless you open windows then noisy.||Comfortable beds, clean, really super staff. Slightly sketchy outside (however OK its at a Railway Station). Breakfast room being refurbished so they sent us to NUI (no extra charge), which was amazing. So I can't speak to their own Breakfast. ||Recommended

Very small small room that’s just large enough for two people to move around in, constant sirens ringing out all night from emergency vehicles in the area, no ventilation in the room when the window is shut turning the room into an oven. No refrigerator in the room either and when asked the desk for a bucket of ice apparently they don’t offer ice. Outside the hotel is full of graffiti drug dealers and homeless people and if I had known this would not have booked this place. Completely makes you feel unsafe and not willing to venture out at night. Do yourself a favour and get a place on the other side of the train station located from this place.

How they charge as much as they do is outrageous. Rooms are basic, no AC, breakfast abysmal. The area feels deeply unsafe. If it isn't the junkies in the evening its the other non-desirables throughout the day. Bottles being thrown in the early hours and lots of other loud noise throughout the night. I'd never return to this hotel.

We'd booked for 3 nights over 6 months in advance of our visit. Our plans changed and we wanted to adjust booking to just one of those nights (as allowed within booking conditions). They refused saying they were overbooked so couldn't accommodate us. Very dishonest. Only positive was we found out before we showed up at their door to be turned away.

Hotel is by the station and attracts a lot of undesirables outside. Rooms are big and clean, breakfast was great. Hotel is in need of a refurb as its looking a little dated

Charging 215€ per night for dirty rooms, junkies sitting in front of the entrance 24/7 and hotel staff the smokes right in the entrance area is mad. If you have very low standards, you won’t mind the breakfast but I don’t know if they should get away with serving 20min boiled eggs, bad coffee and a variety of 2 bland cheeses and old bread. Germany has the largest variety of bread yet they manage to offer shelf bread that are dry and tasteless. What a shame

Very sketchy location, have to make addicts move to get in and out half the time, although very close to the central station. Room was very small, close to zero amenities, ventilator broken in bathroom and no ac in the room so window has to stay open just to get the shower steam to dissipate. Good sound isolation between rooms, but very bad Isolation through the room door - could hear what people walking past were talking about when standing on the other side of the room Overall, the room and stay was completely adequate, but looses points for the surprisingly high price given what you get.

This hotel chain will not let you cancel a reservation. They dont care. They just want any excuse to keep your money. Stay away.

Not a bad choice, all in all. The location is perfect - very near the Bahnhof and well within walking distance of the downtown sites and shops. The room is not modern or beautifully appointed, but it was clean, and the bathroom was pretty nice. The bed was fine, although we both hit our heads on the strangely designed headboard - and I heard a similar sound from the next room, so I can only assume that we weren't the only oneshaha - but this aside, I have no complaints. Unless you spend a lot of time in your room (but why would you?), this is a great option for the price.
