The location was very central with easy access to good shopping. The room was clean and spacious and the beds were incredibly comfy. The TV was a smart TV so we could log into our own streaming services. The pool area was good but very slippery and because of that children are not allowed to play much around the pool but are welcome to just stay in the water.

We stayed one night but would of loved to stay more. Very nice room. Had a King Executive room and was well appointed with all of the amenities including robes and slippers for your comfort. Definitely a very grand hotel in more ways than one. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this establishment.

Affordable and pleasant accommodation. The rooms were clean and tidy, the concierge were friendly and accommodating. And there's also a pool and sauna at no extra cost. The front bar (Sebastian's Bar) is a nice lounge to have a drink and relax. There's also a restaurant one level up, but I did not go there during my stay. Would recommend $-$$

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Loved my stay here! The happy hour from 4–7pm at the bar is such a win — perfect way to kick off the evening. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Location couldn’t be better, right in the Adelaide CBD with loads of restaurants and bars just steps away. The pool looks really inviting, and the gym’s got a good mix of cardio and weights for a quick workout. Rooms are a little on the dated side, but honestly that’s a small thing compared to everything else. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re in Adelaide — great vibes and great value!

My partner and I recently returned from Adelaide after a three-night stay at the Hotel Grand Chancellor. We booked the King Executive Suite with meals included. The location on Hindley Street is excellent—everything you need is within easy reach. However, for the price paid and the title of the room, I found the suite to be somewhat underwhelming, particularly the bathtub area, which did not meet my expectations. Breakfast options were quite simple, and I realized I had paid nearly double the standard rate by booking online. It’s worth noting that breakfast can be added at check-in for a much more reasonable $25 per person, which seems fair. You can add carpark for $25 per day but if you miss a spot than it's tough. Overall, our stay was pleasant. The location is fantastic, and the staff were exceptionally friendly—special thanks to Marjorie for her outstanding service.

Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide is an excellent choice for a comfortable city stay. The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to access shopping, restaurants, and major attractions. Rooms are spacious, clean, and well maintained, offering great comfort after a long day. Staff are professional, friendly, and always ready to assist. Facilities such as the pool and gym add extra convenience. Overall, it provides great value, quality service, and a pleasant experience in the heart of Adelaide.

The hotel is located close to many important places in the city: Rundle mall shops, entertainment centre, museums and Adelaide University. There are many decent restaurants around, including one in the hotel (haven't attended it). However, Hindley Street was quite dirty and unsafe with many drunks and beggars. The rooms are decent, but the furniture is a bit dated. The king bed was comfortable. The shower could have more pressure. It would have been nice to have some small plates. There amenities were great: pool, spa, sauna and a small gym. A solid 4 from me.

Yelp
I'm reviewing the BISTRO SIXTY5 restaurant where I just had dinner. While the serving staff was nice service was spotty but for the price the main dish I ordered the Wagu rump steak was incredibly tough For $36 I expect better than this The salad came with no dressing but the chips and mushroom sauce were quite nice. For dessert I had their mango passionfruit pana cotta which was largely flavourless. I was very hungry so I ate what I could but for such a restaurant it's over -riced if they can't even make a steak properly.

Yelp
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!! Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide, at an absolute loss for words from the disgusting and sloppy 'experience' from Tyson, wait staff of Bistro Sixty5 this evening. First of all Tyson, you work at a Hindley Street, not the Chateau Marmont, so please get over yourself. When we arrived at the completely empty Bistro Sixty5, we were served by a very rude, disinterested Tyson. When I explained we had a reservation for four at 6pm, Tyson disputed that we did not. When I showed him my online booking confirmation, he said it wasn't in his book, although my online booking very clearly shows a reservation number. Tyson had the AUDACITY to tell me to move to the side so he could serve the other people in line, which was my party! Tyson was telling me off, that they were completely full and would not serve us; there was literally only one table with two customers, and a sea of empty tables with NO 'reservation' signs. There was no empathy from Tyson, who refused our service, or even an apology for a useless online booking system. I even had to ask Tyson, why he was being so aggressive, and he just ignored and said he would not be serving us. The whole experience felt very discriminatory. We then spoke with the alleged manager 'Kieran', who again, showed no empathy for the rude, non-existent 'customer service' from Tyson, or even for the inconvenience we were caused by Tyson and your pointless internet reservation system. No offer to accommodate or rectify your mistake, or even to cover the money we wasted on parking for our 'booking'. At a complete loss for words by this experience. I have received better service by teenagers in fast food; very embarrassing for your business being run by people who do not care about customers. Need an overhaul of new staff, and customer service training. Also, do not have an online booking system if you refuse to honour them. Avoid like the plague!!

Yelp
I had a beautiful stay at the hotel midweek. Check in was quick and efficient. My room was beautiful with a stunning view and a welcome message on the tv as I walked in. We had a look at the pool area too, unfortunately I forgot my swimmers but I will definitely bring them if I return. I treated myself to a nice bath and a cuppa from the complimentary tea and coffee. I found the mini bar to be extremely expensive and avoided it. The next morning, we had breakfast which was a great spread ranging from fruit to cereal and breads. We also had the hot options which were usual fry up items such as eggs, sausages, bacon and hash browns. There was a vast selection of juices and hot drinks also.

Yelp
27/1/2012 Photos After the slow service I experienced waiting in line at the reception desk in this place, I wasn't too excited initially. Through its premier collection of 4 - 4.5-star hotels in Adelaide/Australia/overseas, Hotel Grand Chancellor pairs intuitive personal attention with contemporary accommodation and amenities. It definitely carries more than I initially expected - including their Bistro Sixty5 restaurant, which bustles with diners for breakfast and dinner, while Sebastyan's Bar sports a mix of locals and hotel guests sipping drinks. And I'm not gonna lie, being open 24/7 is very pleasing. But this is just like any other hotel, Hotel Grand Chancellor...don't expect anything magical to happen here. Their central location in the city and a friendly staff are just waiting to show off their city, making Hotel Grand Chancellor the perfect accommodation venue for holiday travellers.

Yelp
As we travelled through Australia, we spent 2 nights at the Grand Chancellor. It was centrally located, a definite plus since we wanted to experience the city by walking through its streets as much as possible. There was a little bit of a downside to the placement of the hotel, however. It was a block or so away from the "pink?" zone which meant that there were many late night revelers from parties just down the street until all hours of the night. The room itself was comfortably arranged, but the bathroom unfortunately could stand a thorough cleaning of the grout on the shower walls and the floor. The fitness center had no weights, mats or balls, but did have a new treadmill, an old elliptical and a couple of weight machines. Overall, it was a comfortable place to rest up after all day excursions around the city with a great location.

Yelp
My Fiancé and I had our Engagement party yesterday afternoon in Sybastian bar down stairs.... what can we say...... AWESOME. We had our own private area roped off. Plenty of space even room for our Photo booth too. Our function had approx 30-40ppl and there was room to move. Our amazing bar tender was awesome and i think he made every cocktail on the menu a few times too!! The canepes were great and noone went away hungry. We want to make special mention to Chloe Ball for looking after our funtion booking and answering all our questions too. We stayed overnight in a deluxe queen room. Bliss!!! Clean, tidy and all the amenities that goes with it!!

Yelp
This hotel is a bit old and outdated. It's in the heart of Adelaide amongst a lot of restaurants and bars which is nice to have everything close by. The bar area downstairs is pretty busy each night. William is an excellent bartender, super friendly, allows tastings, creates fun drinks. The rooms are mediocre, nothing special. It just needs some renovating.

Yelp
**This review is for this venue as a conference venue** I recently attended a conference at the Hotel Grand Chancellor - the conference was The Real Food Revolution. This review, therefore, will focus around the venue as a convention venue, not as a hotel. There are a number of different spaces available in this venue, catering for a variety of differnet sized groups - for this event we were in one of the bigger venues, setup with chairs in rows and a stage and screen at the front. As conference venues go, this one was OK, but it was just that, it was OK. There are a couple of things that amount to this rating. I found that the chairs that were there, were not very comfortable, particularly given we had to sit in them for three days straight. Also the venue tended to be a little on the cold side, cardigan definitely recommended. The decor in this venue is getting to be a little on the dated side also, which while, did not have an impact on the overall experience, there are some other venues in town that have a lot nicer, more modern fixtures and fittings. As conference venues go - this one is fine - but if you are looking for a venue to wow your conference attendees - keep looking.

Yelp
Good location. Room up to my standard. Staff friendly. Place is clean and nice. Value of money. Would return back to this hotel when coming to Adelaide.
