"A longstanding, iconic luxury hotel celebrated for its classic grandeur and service; while usually positioned at the top end of the market, rates drop noticeably in the off-season, making it an attractive option for a luxury long-weekend escape without peak-season prices." - Stacey Leasca

When I stay at a luxury hotel like this, I ask myself if they provided a total luxury experience which I could not have expected to be better. This hotel checks all the boxes.||||Superb concierge. Dimitris compiled excellent restaurant suggestions and arranged a superb tour. The room was wonderful and all the service providers were excellent. They have a superb restaurant on the top floor with view of the Acropolis. ||||I did not partake of the breakfast as I do not eat a full breakfast.||||I really cannot add to this.

Upon arrival was greeted with champagne and our own butler. The entire facility was everything one could ask for. Great staff as well as friendly. Went out of their way to make our state that much better. The rooftop restaurant gives you a bird's-eye view of the Acropolis. Food was excellent as well as tasty. Will be going back next year for another four-day stay. Was very impressed

Although we only stayed two nights, we were very happy there. Rooms were large, quiet, very comfortable and elegant. The bathroom had double sinks, nice showers, very spacious. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices, great service and the view of the Acropolis from the 8th floor dining room is stunning. Overall, fabulous stay.

This hotel is grand and location in the center of Athens is great, but here are my cons:||||We paid about $600 US for a king size bed with parliament view. The room itself was very nice, comfortable bed and linens and the bathroom had a lot of marble and solid metal hardware. But the room was about 15’x15’, on the first floor out of 8 on a very busy and loud street. There was also construction directly across. Breakfast was not included and would cost an additional 33 euro per person. Hard to find a drink under 14 euros and while the roof top restaurant was top notch, we were charged $4.50 euros for water and (believe or not) we were charged $1 euro for fresh ground pepper. ||||If I read the signs correctly, the pool, pool bar closed at 6:00 pm. Other than great staff, I just can’t say we got our money’s worth. We tried a 5 star and came away such a mediocre experience, that next time will spend money elsewhere.

Just spent 3 nights at the Grand Bretagne and it was wonderful. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the breakfast we had every morning was delicious. The views of the Acropolis each morning were stunning. The location is very central and walking distance to many places. Highly recommended!!

I just recently returned from a visit of Athens and we chose to stay at the luxury collection Grand Bretagne hotel. The hotel is in the perfect location in the city for walking and is its best hotel. You can walk to the flea market and plaka area and is in the heart of the city’s shopping district. The My market is a great grocery store nearby for some wine and cheese. Also the city hop on bus is right at the hotel doorsteps 11 euros. This takes you right to the base of Acropolis but get there early to get good pics before the crowds arrive after 10am. Better to opt for the 30 euro package instead of the 20 euro pp Package at the Acropolis as this includes all the other sites. If you do them individually it costs 6euro per site. The 8th floor roof garden is one of the best view in the city and a must if you stay here. Breakfast is reasonable a la Carte or buffet (31 euros). Kids can eat whatever at 10 euros which is a good deal. For dinner Book a reservation as I was surprised dinner fills up early. Also Would suggest to Uber as this is much cheaper to the airport than the taxi. Hope this helps you out.

Fantastic central location immediately adjacent Plaka (old city) with views of Parliament House so that you cal witness hourly changing of Guard. Rooftop pool and poolbar amazing. For a bit €xtra stay on Level 6 or 7 with Butler service - extra attention remove last traces of stress from travel. A beautiful hotel - worth a few days stay.

Best hotel in Athens, Greece. Convenient to food and attractions. Best view in all of the city. Rooms were outstanding, shower stood out mostly. Restaurant on top of hotel has an awesome view of Parthenon, enjoyed both breakfast and dinner
