The general appearance of the hotel is very good, taking into consideration the lobby and the coffee lounge. Checked into a room with a superb view to the sea. All the rest was very bad. First, furnitures are dated, they do not match to a 4 stars hotel from this century. Matress was toral loss so they put a topper but it was very uncomfortable. No socket near the bed. No drawers or shelfs in the cupboard so it was impossible to dispack the luggage.. And then I enetred the bathroom and seen the most disgusting sight if my life, all the bathtub dirty and filthy, but there was no way to ignore all this because the only way to take a shower was to pass into the bathtub. Which is very high and difficult to escaladate. The shower itself is a hand hold very very old one, also the hair dryer in from the last century...it took me one hour to dry my hair. Back to te dirt, I tried to contact the manager and show the siruation but, how comfortable, noone was there... After a few hours I got a sort of letter of "sorry about that" and proposal to change the room which I did not accept because I had a lot of luggage and I am not sure that other rooms are better. How is possible to find such a disgusting thing in a 4 stars hotel in century 21!!?!! Exceprt this, it is inacceptable the fact that at breakfast they have a coffee machine using instant powders. If you want a real coffee- you have to pay at the bar. This is rude and not fair, this is enough how much we paid for the whole experience! So, room 212- I am sure that nothing was done and there is the same situation. I am sure that other rooms are no better, everything is old and smell bad, we had to sleep with window ipen in order to have fresh air

We had such a wonderful experience! Our waiter, Christos, was incredibly friendly and welcoming – compliments to him for his excellent service. The service was quick and attentive, and the food was delicious. The pizzas were outstanding, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a place we truly enjoyed spending time in. We will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I booked four nights at the Grand Bretagne and it fully lived up to expectations. The hotel has an unrivalled location on Filellinon Square. We had a beautiful room with balcony overlooking the Bourtzi. Lovely public areas including a wonderful bar area. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We had dinner on the terrace on two occasions. The food and service were both excellent and very good value. Thank you to all the staff at the Grand Bretagne. We will be back again next year

Poor experience with front desk staff. A reservation was made with understanding based on research that hotel accommodated pets, as shown on screen grab of Google maps among other sites. We were allowed to check in with dog visible upon entry, as well as left and returned to hotel several times with dog in tow. When leaving for an evening meal front desk stopped and advised the dog was not allowed in hotel. The staff refused to review our reservation receipts or online hotel info that clearly stated pets were allowed. While, these types of over sites by an establishment can happen, the staff refused to assist in any way, refund our room and going as far as definitely insisting the hotel would not refund us or our credit card company no matter what. He also refused to allow us back to room to collect our belongings with animal in tow. This was all while we remained calm, understanding and attempting to find a resolution, including refunding our stay and parting amicably. The staff was not hostile or angry thankfully, preventing an escalation. He was completely unwilling to assist or compromise in any way in light of the facts being presented to him showing that information was misrepresented about the hotel. It became clear, his concern was ensuring we understood the hotel was not pet friendly, with the websites speaking to this referring to the public area in front of hotel(um, ooookay) and that we would not be refunded by anyone.

It’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Good rooms, wonderful staff and the place has an 1878 kind of feeling. And it’s right in town.

Something very odd about the smell in this hotel…… inside smells like talc powder all over, opening a window suffocated by smoke from a local barbecue place….. Furniture stained and unpleasant Overall great location, would prefer something a bit newer

Certainly a nice looking hotel with magic looks and perfect location. However all this nice looking place results in a cold atmosphere with no soul. Service is far behind expectations as most of the staff does not understand the essence of customer service and satisfaction. Not a place where to have lunch or dinner. For breakfast, orange juice is not fresh, in an area all surrounded by orange trees.

This is positioned on the port front of the old town (great for many eateries). Much upgraded over the years. Check in and out was straightforward and politely efficient. Our room in the roofspace was exceedingly large. Very clean for our stay. Large comfortable bed. Amazingly good A/C machine and quiet. Very good WiFi coverage. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice with some hot dishes. |Our only minor concern was the level of room lighting with obviously power saving bulbs.|One note - there is no hotel car parking. There is free parking on the dock side of the road BUT it is very busy so you may have to circulate a bit.
