I've stayed at the Granvia Osaka a couple of times now and I have zero complaints.
The biggest draw of the hotel is its location. It is literally right in the middle of JR Osaka Station. You can get anywhere extremely easily just steps from the hotel's lobby. There's also an abundance of shopping and food within a minute or two of walking. You could stay completely indoors on, for instance, a rainy day and have plenty to do, eat, and buy right in the area.
On top of the location, the hotel itself is quite nice. Staff is courteous, although don't expect them to know a ton of English. I've never had to do anything more than check in and check out, but I think anything more complicated than that might be tricky. It is a popular hotel, so the lobby can get a bit crowded during check in and check out times. I recommend checking in early -- if your room isn't ready they will hold your luggage, check you in when the room is ready, and you can come back later and skip the line.
The rooms are standard medium-upscale rooms in a large Japanese city: small, but with nice bedding and bath amenities. The Granvia's rooms are a bit more spacious in my opinion than other Japanese hotels, although you still probably won't have things like drawers for storage or a ton of floor space. You'll basically have a bed, a small desk, a fridge, and some hangers on the wall for coats. Many of the Granvia's rooms have a decent view, especially on the higher floors. The rooms are fairly sound-proof. The bathrooms are standard, with bidet toilets and really nice water pressure in the showers.
On my most recent trip, we stayed on the Granvia Floor, which has its own private check in and check out counter, as well as a lounge with drinks and food. It definitely felt more "luxe" than my previous stay at the hotel and allows you to skip the hustle and bustle of the lobby, but I'm not sure it's worth paying a lot extra for. I happened to get a deal, but I don't think I would pay more for that floor in the future if it's way more than a standard room.
