This hotel is perfect for many business stays right above the train station and well positioned for travel to most Osaka destinations. The 27th Club is small but functional and a good option with the rooms there. Great selection of restaurants onsite and in the building too… pretty much everywhere. The shower turns into a stream room as well!

Take the elevators outside of daimaru on 3/4th floor from JR to go to 19th lobby OR go straight to st floor and walk to the hotel reception area. Rooms are very outdated and need a refresh. The service was amazing as they personally showed us to our room, moved our luggage In a trolley for us and installed the baby bed on the spot to our liking. For convenience we would stay again

This hotel has the most convenient location in regards with public transport, shopping malls, eateries and entertainment. My room was quite clean and had the necessities of a comfortable stay. Saying that I had no safe and iron in my room which was a bit unexpected.|Concierge, reception, restaurants and housekeeping staff were extremely attentive and provided the best service. Buffet breakfast had a decent variety of local and international foods and drinks. |Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if location, cleanliness, service, and quality food matter to you.

We stayed here recently in one of the Superior Rooms. Totally worth it. We had this amazing view to wake up to every day. You also get access to the lounge which is great for quick drinks and evening appetizers. The hotel room is very comfortable and includes everything you could want. Great location right above the train station.

I’ve stayed at upper floor before the room was renovated and nice. This time I picked standard twin room on 21/f and it was old and worn and smelly. So beware if you opt for the cheapest room type like I did. When the furnishing is that old it’s hard to keep it looking clean. Carpet super gross. Bedding seems clean. Bathroom was very smelly, strong ammonia scent not sure if it’s from the sewage. But very disturbing. Location was superb right above station. Staff was nice too one actually helped with luggage to room which is quite rare for Japanese business hotels. My room was not cheap so imagine staying at renovated rooms. Also super noisy even at night 1:00am there are still kids running round outside and neighbors banging at walls.

The location is great. It’s connected to Osaka station which makes traveling around the area easy. You don’t have to go outside to get to the subway which was nice on those hot July days. The hotel building has numerous restaurants and stores and so does Osaka station which makes grabbing items before heading out for a day of adventure very convenient. Our room was clean and a decent size for the 3 of us. The staff are also helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our time there.

I booked this hotel late at night due to a flight issue, but unfortunately, my stay was not a pleasant one. When I made the reservation through Hotels.com, I entered 2 adults and 2 children (ages 13 and 14) and paid extra for breakfast for everyone. However, upon check-in, I was told that children over 12 years old are considered adults for breakfast, and I had to pay an additional 9,200 yen. I had already paid 111,731 yen for the room, and being asked to pay more at 1:30 a.m. was very disappointing. If I had known this in advance, I would have chosen a better hotel. The breakfast was not worth the price—convenience store food nearby would have been a better choice. Although the hotel is connected to Osaka Station, finding the entrance at night was extremely difficult. Most of the station entrances and stairways were closed after midnight, and it took me over 30 minutes to locate the lobby. I sent a message to the hotel about my late arrival but received no reply or guidance. Travelers arriving late should be aware that it’s not easy to find the way at night. The location is convenient during the day, but the facilities are quite old. Considering the price, there are many better options in Osaka. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Google
The Hotel Granvia Osaka's location above the station is unbeatable, making it incredibly convenient for travel. Staff were efficient and professional. However, be advised that the standard rooms are noticeably small, making the space feel quite cramped, especially with luggage. It's best suited for quick, efficient stays. Breakfast is excellent.

Yelp
We spent a week at the Osaka Granvia Hotel smack dab in the center of the city of Osaka's city station. The station is a city of itself with multiple high-rise towers of multiple shopping eating living commerce. It is a war of vast and impressive scope. That being said this hotel is very well located to be taking any form of transportation anywhere in the surrounding area as well as to explore Osaka. The bed is a little harder than we're used to, but as it is extremely flat, which, if you have traveled a lot, you know is a rarity and deeply reassuring. The bathrooms are Japanese and therefore lovely. Why don't we all have small deep bathtubs? Not to mention heated toilet seats. I don't understand it. When you know better, you should do better. The world needs to catch up. Anyway, we decided against the $25 breakfast because really we don't need all of that and there is a plentiful array of options all around here. Circumstances conspired to place us here for this time and I don't really think I would choose to spend a week in the center of Osaka, but since we have, this was a great place to do it.

Yelp
Can't be more convenient than staying here for late check in and early morning checkout at Osaka Station. The room was comfortable, clean and safe. The size of the room was ample. The only quirk was that one bed was against the wall with the next bed right next. The person sleeping on that bed had no leeway to place their feet on the floor to get in or out of the bed. Perhaps for an infant, that would work but for a grown adult it proved to be bothersome. Nevertheless its location suited our purpose to leave early the next morning frim Osaka Station.

Yelp
Conveniently located in the Osaka Station right next to the department store Daimaru. Very good for those who are not familiar with Osaka Station and its department stores and the surplus of shopping stores/boutiques located throughout the station. This is a budget hotel. We stayed in the Triplet room with city view. We could see Osaka Castle from our room on the 24th floor. Rooms are located on the 23rd-25th floor. Amenities are good. There is a smartphone that you may use if you desire- free of charge- and good for Google Maps, internet, and texting. We did not use it so I am not sure how it works. They provide bottles of water (1 per guest) each day of stay. Like everywhere in Japan, trash cans are small and limited. In the rooms, there are 2 small trash cans that could easily be filled with 2-3 empty bottles. I like to save my shopping bags and use them for trash in and out of the hotel. The beds were pretty comfortable. Overall, the hotel was okay. Just very busy and elevators took a long time and were often filled when they finally arrived. We stayed for 3 nights and then moved to my favorite hotel across the street. :) For the three of us (1 adult and 2 teens), the room was comfortable.

Yelp
It was a beautiful hotel. We stayed here while we were in Osaka. This hotel is located on top of Osaka train station. It's very convenient for taking JR and Shinkansen (bullet train). Lots of shops and restaurants were around here. Everything was walking distant. Our room was big enough for 2 twin beds and a rollaway bed. There was complementary cell phone in our room. It was for us to borrow during our stay. It came with free internet and unlimited phone calls (including international phone calls). This was so cool, although we didn't have to use it. Bathroom was huge with full of amenities. We were on Granvia floor. They offered lounge and concierge services. Their lounge offered simple breakfast with cookies, coffee, milk, yogurt drinks and juices. Late afternoon, they also had beers and some snacks. It was a nice and clean hotel, staffs were friendly, but some of the staffs didn't speak English well. It could be a bit frustrating if you tried to ask them for directions Highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Yelp
When I first arrived here after a train ride on the Shinkansen and another from Shin-Osaka, I briefly thought I was in a bit of a time warp. The hotel's decor seems a bit worn and dated. I felt like this was the late 80's or early 90's. The elevators, walls, and floors look rather antiquated. A member of staff actually accompanied me up to my room and gave me some tourist tips along the way, which was nice. The room was small but the decor did not feel nearly as old as the public areas. The bathroom was also diminutive but clean, which is fine. There's not a lot of luggage space but I didn't have much since this was a short trip. The television is rather large for the size of the room and there's a tiny but workable desk adjacent to the bed. The bed itself was comfortable and fairly large. The really positive benefit with this hotel is location. It's right in Osaka Station so the convenience factor really shows. You're right next to all the department stores, shops, and restaurants. Service is polite but the staff's command of the English language is sorely lacking. I'm not expecting Singapore/HK quality but Osaka isn't in the sticks. Plus I'm sure there are quite a few business travelers at this hotel, given its location. So there's not too much excuse here.

Yelp
We were originally charged for a massage service we did not make, but they fixed the issue and personally called us to notify us of what happened and apologized. Reflecting back on our stay apart from this incident, we had a great time. The hotel was clean and location was very convenient for travelers being at the Osaka Station. Being our first stay in Japan, we were delighted to find bidet toilets with all kinds of functions (warm seats :D), yukatas and bathroom slippers along with basically all the toiletries you need.

Yelp
I've stayed at the Granvia Osaka a couple of times now and I have zero complaints. The biggest draw of the hotel is its location. It is literally right in the middle of JR Osaka Station. You can get anywhere extremely easily just steps from the hotel's lobby. There's also an abundance of shopping and food within a minute or two of walking. You could stay completely indoors on, for instance, a rainy day and have plenty to do, eat, and buy right in the area. On top of the location, the hotel itself is quite nice. Staff is courteous, although don't expect them to know a ton of English. I've never had to do anything more than check in and check out, but I think anything more complicated than that might be tricky. It is a popular hotel, so the lobby can get a bit crowded during check in and check out times. I recommend checking in early -- if your room isn't ready they will hold your luggage, check you in when the room is ready, and you can come back later and skip the line. The rooms are standard medium-upscale rooms in a large Japanese city: small, but with nice bedding and bath amenities. The Granvia's rooms are a bit more spacious in my opinion than other Japanese hotels, although you still probably won't have things like drawers for storage or a ton of floor space. You'll basically have a bed, a small desk, a fridge, and some hangers on the wall for coats. Many of the Granvia's rooms have a decent view, especially on the higher floors. The rooms are fairly sound-proof. The bathrooms are standard, with bidet toilets and really nice water pressure in the showers. On my most recent trip, we stayed on the Granvia Floor, which has its own private check in and check out counter, as well as a lounge with drinks and food. It definitely felt more "luxe" than my previous stay at the hotel and allows you to skip the hustle and bustle of the lobby, but I'm not sure it's worth paying a lot extra for. I happened to get a deal, but I don't think I would pay more for that floor in the future if it's way more than a standard room.

Yelp
5 stars for the location. Osaka Grandvia is located in the heart of Osaka Station which makes it a wonderfully convenient place to stay. There are tons of department stores (Daimaru), shops and restaurants close by. Everything is literally right around the corner. There's even a Pokémon Center for children (and adults). It's also only a 3 station subway ride from other main attractions like Dotonburi and Shinsaibashi. 3 stars for the rooms itself. Most things were updated but some things like the bathroom fixtures and hallway carpets were a bit dated. I'm also not sure if it was my imagination but I could smell remnant cigarette smoke out in the hallway and also in my bathroom. Great views of the city from the expansive windows. I would stay here again mainly for its great central location.

Yelp
Great location but a very budget hotel. No gym no pool. Built for tour companies trying to save costs. The location rocks and is clearly the best choice for the Jr train lines. Staff does not speak English very well making communications difficult. Overall good experience but I will avoid granvia hotels in the future.

Yelp
I bought a tour package and the stay here was a part of it, so I can't really say anything about the price. I've read other reviews saying this place was old and small, but that was not the case for me. We got a corner room and it was spacious. Also, the place was like brand new. I'm not sure if they recently renovated or what not though. The toilet was separated from the bath and wash area. We also had a new looking air purifer in the room, or was it a humidifier? The staff was nice and we got a free newspaper in English at our door in the morning. One thing I didn't like was that our room was a long walk from our elevator. It was also a little hard to find at first.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel right in the middle of the action of the JR station. It offers a few different restaurant choices and its' location means getting around is really easy. I stayed on the Granvia floor which offers a lounge and concierge services. The room was very nice and on the larger side for Japanese standards.

Yelp
When choosing a hotel, different people certainly have different lists of wants and needs. For me, especially in Japan, being near a train station is MUST! As someone on the go, I need directly access to public transportation and taxis. Hotel Granvia Osaka best and biggest pro is its location. Located inside of Osaka Station, one of the larger stations in the Kansai area. First the pros... great view (only if you book the twin size rooms), location, nice staff and the variety of department shops next door (Daimaru, Hankyu, etc) My room and bathroom was quite large, by Japanese standards. Cons? relatively expensive room rates & horrible Internet. You'd think, at such a fancy hotel, they have fast and connectable Internet, but for some reason it would restart 30 mins or so leaving me with inconsistent connections during my stay here. If it's your first time in Osaka, this hotel is also very difficult to find. Yes, it's in Osaka Station, but given the massive size of this station it's still very hard to locate Hotel Granvia. The easiest way, for me that is, is to find Lucua then walk towards Daimaru. They bill themselves as a luxury hotel, but I don't really think it's true. While I did enjoy my stay, and would stay here again, they really need to improve their Internet!

Yelp
5 Stars for the GREAT location and introduction to Osaka living/visiting. Location is at the JR Osaka/Umeda train station and so convenient to everything. Room was very clean and that shampoo made my hair silky smooth, I wanted to buy it! Sheets are good quality, diffuser in the hallways makes for a nice touch. As travelers, we want a clean room, good bed and good sheets. Our intention is to be out all day and basically shower/sleep in our room. Views are not typically important because we don't come back until after sunset. Would stay here again and again.

Yelp
Yeah I live in Osaka. So why submit a review of a hotel? I like staying in hotels. Make it a point to do so every month. Also, given my line of work it is a good idea for me to stay in hotels so I know where to recommend to my clients and guests in town on business. HOTEL GRANVIA has great staff, service and the location is lovely. I mean this hotel is IN Osaka Station. Does not get any more convenient than that. This place has what you need. Not unlike many hotels the actual room that you stay in plays a major role on the overall experience and if you are fortunate enough to get a room with a nice view (I recommend the Freja Twin) things are that much better. However even if you do not get a room with a great view your stay at the GRANVIA in Osaka is not likely to disappoint.

Yelp
This is a great location but we asked for nonsmoking and it is a deodorized room that smells like smoke.

Yelp
I love it here!! It's serves as a central location to many stores, the train station is conveniently located, and the restaraunts are all beautiful! The rooms are pretty spacious, and the bathrooms are kept clean, plus they offer clean windows with a view of the city. Perfect for an adventurous, shopaholic traveler like me!

Yelp
Convenient location to shopping and food. Otherwise, small room, only 1 keycard provided for 2 people, no lounge.

Yelp
Its nicely located at the Osaka Jr station and the lobby looks nice but my room sucked, easily the worst ive stayed in Japan so far. The WiFi was unacceptably poor, literally felt like AOL dial up from 1995. Impossible to get any real work done. The TV was pathetic, not that I actually watched it though. It was maybe a 22" flat screen that was so thick you know its at least 6 years old. I took a photo with a snickers bar for scale. Whatever. The bathroom was so tiny that whilst sitting on the throne my knees only had 1-2" space to the wall. Bed was tiny. Concierge duties are relegated to some high school aged kids who obviously have good intentions but who just don't have the ability to make qualified recommendations. I won't be back.

Yelp
This is the worse hotel that I ever stayed in Japan. It is dirty and bug infested. I woke up in the middle of the night (1st night) with bug bites on my legs. The bites were red with a swollen puss looking center. I packed my bags and went to the front desk. For a big city hotel at Osaka JR station, the staff don't speak English. When I told them that I need my room change due to bed bugs, they were counting my bags. I had to google bugs in Japanese so they can understand. They apologized and will move my room later the next day since it was now 4 AM. I was not going back to that room so I waited at the JR station until McDonald opens at 6am. The room the hotel moved me was a little cleaner but brought bug spray since I had 2 more nights here. Please be careful if you plan to stay here, book the deluxe room and not standard ( I had both, pay delays for my dad's room). The standard room are old and not well maintain, the linen are different. Even thought the location is convenience, I will not stay here again.

Yelp
Not my favorite Tokyo hotel, but I did love the location and the fact I could get 3 beds in one room.

R N.

Yelp
Worst experience by far in in Japan hotel. Not cheap. Poor directions from the station. Rooms are small and beaten up, bed barely long enough, internet- wifi and Ethernet- are both spotty at best. Never coming back here.
