PERFECT + SERENITY
We celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary in SF & I chose Hotel Griffon as our romantic getaway, being from HI. As my husband said, Hotel Griffon was perfect! We enjoyed this little boutique hotel. $25/day amenity fee included the use of YMCA next door, unlimited use of purified water (bring your hydroflask), Free WIFI, luggage storage, local calls, coffee, tea, and pastries made readily available every morning to begin our day. The staff were super friendly from check-in to check-out. Shortly after check in, a bucket of ice, champagne & a letter of appreciation for choosing to share our 15th Anniversary with them. This special touch made our stay even more special.
The view from the King room (w/view) is spectacular. A view of the SF Bay Bridge & Embarcadero after returning from long adventures was relaxing, soothing, and allowed you to reset for the next day. Such a beautiful view to awake to. The room is not your average-sized hotel room, but overall very cozy & sets "the vibe" I was trying to achieve for our anniversary trip. The bed + AC was super comfortable. The overall bathroom is small but enough to do what youʻre supposed to do in there. Also included in the room were shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair dryer, and iron & an ironing board.
The area of this hotel is super safe. We never ran into any person at any time that made us feel unsafe. There were no homeless in sight or near the hotel, on the opposite side of the Embarcadero near the tourisy attractions but never near the hotel. Location of the hotel is on one end of the Embarcadero and all the must do visits when coming to SF for the 1st time is on the other end (Ex. Fishermanʻs Wharf, Pier 39, & Alcatraz tour). A nice long walk of the Embarcadero to get to the tourisy stuff but possible. On one of the days, we took a bike cab back to the hotel. A must do experience, it goes with the romantic vibe. Hotel Griffon is directly across of the Ferry Building, if needing to take the SF Ferry (to Vallejos for a Wine Tasting in Napa Valley with Platypus Wine Tours (another must). We also walked to STK located across the street for our anniversary dinner. Walking distance to many attractions, Uber eats for the late night meals (which were pleasantly quick with delivery, under 10 mins).
Hotel Griffon was perfect! The price with taxes, & amenity fee is definitely worth it for the coziness, & romantic vibes; Serenity sums up this boutique hotel well. We will definitely be back & I highly recommend staying here for any special occasions. They will definitely make your stay here extra special & memorable!
