Hotel Grimsborgir by Keahotels

This hotel was part of our great experience in Iceland. About an hour outside of Reykjavik The rooms were clean. The staff was excellent. The dinner at the restaurant was top notch. Breakfast everyday was superb. The buffet was a perfect way to start our day. The hot tubs outside were absolute perfection. They had a Northern lights wake up list so if they were out and about they would call and let you know. The only challenge was the bed. For a European bed they were actually fairly comfortable, but it was two twin size mattresses pushed into one they easily slipped apart and there was always a divot in the middle. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this spot.

Although the hotel can be reached by transfer from the airport (about 1 hour) I would recommend car hire from the airport as a lot of tours do not pick up from here and a private company charged eye watering fees!||The room was clean with tea making facilities and tv and with its own balcony although the balconies are not separated presumably so that you can reach the hotel tubs located outside. The wood floor outside on the balcony and around the hot tubs was very slippery so take care. Our room had a shower over a bath. ||The breakfast was good and well replenished. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The bar area is small and nuts/crisps have to be purchased from reception. ||The hotel is situated fairly close to several attractions and the scenery along the routes is quite stunning and different landscapes. I would enjoy going back to Iceland during more daylight times and to another part

Beautiful hotel with near the national reservation. Hotel is cosy, it feels more like a holiday colony than a hotel rooms feel seperated so you don't feel crowded. Breakfast was great. My only suggestion would be walkin showers foe the rooms we had a showerbath combo. With some luck you can watch the nothernlights in a very clean jaccuzi.

Upon arrival, we found the coffee cups above the fridge were dirty…in the evening, our door was shaking every time someone closed door in the same building…a bit disappointed due to these things. But the breakfast is better than expected.

What a fantastic hotel. The rooms are clean and a great size. The staff are so polite and helpful. We loved the generous breakfast and the surroundings are stunning. We are so glad we opted to stay here.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, and the views of the mountains were absolutely amazing — waking up to that scenery was a real highlight.||The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable straight away. The location was perfect for the activities we had planned around the Golden Circle, making it a great base for exploring the area.||We’d definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay again!

If there was a 7🌟 option- THIS place deserves it! Thank you too all staff- ESPECIALLY Kathey- there was a mixup in our reservation with Expedia, we had been exploring for 15hrs after traveling for 8hrs and we had been up for 30ish+ hours. She gave us pur key, told us where to find the geothermal pools and said she would fix this issue and update us in the morning. We were exhausted and greatful. She called us within 30mins to inform us the issue had been resolved. Their breakfast buffet is exceptional! The variety is above what I have seen at most complimentary breakfasts with eggs, sausage, bacon, fish, oats, cheese, toast, toppings, hot beverages and sooo much more. They have great wi-fi. Exceptional views perfect for seeing the northern lights and they do offer calls if the lights are on display in the skies. A MUST stay if you are visiting Iceland!

My daughterand I stay here for four days 3 nights the end of November.|The staff were all so warm and welcoming which was not at all false. They were so helpful and full of information.|The room spotless warm and the best bed and pillows I have ever slept in on holiday.|The evening meal we expected to be highly priced and was in line with our expectations if you don't research it will seem expensive.|A fantastic place to see the northern lights and they do let you know when they appear.|The hotel is ideal for visiting the Southern part of the island with easy to follow routes.|I just loved this place and planning our next visit.|Thank you all for an amazing stay.
