Older hotel, a bit worn in places. Good location, about ten minutes to the train station and ten minutes in the opposite direction to Malbork Castle. Plenty of nearby bars and restaurants. About a block to the nearest Zabka. Friendly and efficient staff that speak English. Tasty, large, and diverse breakfast, get there early as some hot dishes are not replenished when they are finished. We had an early train, staff kindly packed up a breakfast for us (we asked the night before).

If you need a one night stop for parkrun then this is a good option for avoiding the stress of making your way from Gdansk early on a Saturday morning. A five minute walk from the station and about fifteen minutes from the castle and the start line. The midday checkout and bag storage also works well if you want to shower and then stay for the day to visit the castle. Friendly staff and free tea/coffee in reception. A fridge and a hairdryer in the room. Beds a little hard and the pillows a little flat but a perfectly okay room and decent ensuite bathroom for about £40-45 per night. The road outside was a bit loud but I slept okay.

- located few minutes by foot from Malbork castle and near the starting point of Malbork old town houses route (that itself is interesting glimpse to Malbork history)||- big room, only small con was that tea kettle was not in the room, but at the reception||- small but clean bathroom||- continental breakfast||- hotel has its own small underground parking, but the parking spots are not reserved meaning that if you go somewhere by car during your stay, it can happen that you won´t find the place to park upon arrival

I went to Malbork for the weekend. I shortened my stay to one day. Why? Unfortunately, because I stayed at the Grot Hotel.||I do not recommend this hotel. I completely, absolutely advise against it. Unless it is for someone who has no expectations regarding comfort. Organizational chaos during reservations, no room that I booked, a very noisy room (through the window a thoroughfare) that I was offered, an uncomfortable bed, no soap in one dispenser. The price is completely inadequate to the quality.||I booked a 3-person room for single use on Booking.com. Not because I wanted to stay in a "three", but because it was the only one available on the date I chose. After arriving at the place, to my surprise, it turned out that the room I booked on Booking.com was not available.||So I was offered another one. True, a double, but since it did not really matter, I went to see it. However, it was completely unusable for someone who wanted to be able to use a laptop or read a book in the evening. I also came to Malbork to do some quiet work (writing an article), but there were no sockets in the room by any of the beds - to be able to turn on the laptop and the night light, you would need 2 extension cords running the length of the room, so working in such conditions would be very difficult, because I didn't want to trip over cables every time I got out of bed. So the lady suggested another room, which did have a socket by the bed, but it turned out to be so loud that it was impossible to work during the day or fall asleep at night. Outside the window of room no. 105 is a thoroughfare, which is constantly being driven by trucks at night, and during the day the traffic and noise are even more bothersome with additional attractions besides car traffic, such as beeping traffic lights at the crossing. After a sleepless night, I asked the reception to change rooms so that the window faced the quiet side of the hotel. I was promised that after 2:00 PM such a room would be found. However, after 2:00 PM it turned out that unfortunately, I could simply get another room with windows facing the same air route. ||Due to the prospect of another sleepless night, I simply checked out of the hotel a day earlier than planned, resigning from staying in such conditions. Of course, they charged for the three-person room that I had booked on Booking, which turned out to be unavailable, without even offering a discount for staying in a room other than the one booked and all the fuss.||The only brighter ray was the lady at the reception, who tried to help somehow, but she couldn't do much.||Therefore, I do not recommend this hotel - I never want to stay in such conditions again. Never again. And I also advise you wholeheartedly against it

Lovely situated modern hotel with a style. Staff working there is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. The food served in the restaurant is very tasty, Polish and made with passion. The price for the room included breakfast which is delicious...cannot be missed, all regional, fresh products. You can count on advice about walks around the town, places worth seeing, good places to eat and hang out. Very happy with our stay. And, most important, it is a pet friendly hotel. Highly recommending. Definitely will be back once we are again in Malbork.

The place is right next to and facing a road with lot of traffic, and the location is not the nicest. Many rooms face a silent back alley. Room is clean with nice toilet. Helpful people in the reception.|The beds have hard spring matress. I didnt sleep well|

We stayed in the apartment on the top floor offered by Hotel Grot.||The location is very good, at walking distance from Malbork's attractions. It's good that you also have the option for underground parking place (however extra paid). Restaurant serves pretty good food at reasonable price.||The apartment wasn't clean at all except the bed linen which was fresh. Both the bathroom and the room was full of dust and dirt on the floor. We even found some socks under the bed (probably lost by the previous guests). The walls need some fresh paint. The bed was extremely uncomfortable due to worn mattress.||||For the price we paid I expect higher level of comfort especially that the hotel and restaurant look pretty nice. Maybe just the apartments are the problem...

Took my two young children and walked the entire time. Easy walk to train station, easy walk to castle and right on the main street of town with a Community Market on the fronting street.||||It can be a bit noisy and night and is clean with very nice, family-run service. Clean and generously sized rooms with slightly dated fashion.||||Nice public areas with some nice Gothic touches like a suit of armor in the lobby. Restaurant is decent, but there is better in town and they should be open later.
