We loved this place. Fantastic staff, nice large rooms. We stayed for 8 days and it was perfect. For the noise sensitive: note that there is a fountain that does not turn off - it’s beautiful and wouldn’t bother most people. Our room was at the back and backed onto a fairly busy road (no windows onto the road, you could just hear it). Again, these would not bother most people- and would be easily avoided with a different room. we loved it, a haven to come “home” to each day. Lovely flowers and garden, perfect location.

The best thing about this hotel is the personal touch! Angel is reception was very helpful with recommendations, but all the staff is equally friendly. They readily offered help or asked if you needed anything. |Our room #2 was large and beautifully appointed. This room has a wood burning fireplace, and it is needed! I had to add an electric heater to supplement since the fire only lasts a few hours, and we visited in Feb! The concrete walls and tile floor are very cold. The bed and pillows are a bit too firm for us. There are plenty of blankets though. I think other rooms have gas fireplaces which might be better in the winter months. I’m sure we could have asked for more wood, the staff is very accommodating. A stocked mini fridge is in each room, and that is handy. |We are across from the reception area so you could hear people talking but it wasn’t disturbing ( unless it wakes you up.) Rooms in the back are probably more quiet. |The grounds are lush and covered in flowers, and all kinds of orchids. And there is a koi pond with large fish! Plenty of outdoor sitting areas too. |The included breakfast is wonderful! A great selection is available and very filling!|You can walk to the pedestrian street full of shops and restaurants, which leads to the main square and cathedral. And the opposite direction is to the mirador with a beautiful view of the city.|We easily found parking around the corner. |For the hotel to attract and retain great employees, they ask that you leave a tip at the end of your stay to be shared amongst all the staff. You pay for your room at checkout, and the recommended tip is 8-10% of the room charge. I think that was a bit high. We stayed four nights. But it is nice that they consider all the employees. But as with socialism, all are equally rewarded even though some are more outstanding!

Room : beautiful, the bed, bathroom and decoration is very high quality. The garden is probably the best of San Cristobal. A lot of colorful flowers, toronjas tree and some Koï fishes too. So relaxing! Service: the people working here are great, helpful and smiling. Big thanks for the breakfast, the ladies are so kind and the food is really delicious and good value Location: 10-15min from the street with all the restaurants and bar, you can walk there safely by night too.

Guayana Inn is a converted traditional home in the historic district of El Cerrillo. It’s located in the remarkable colonial colonial San Cristobal de las Casas. There are outstanding Orchid and Bromeliad gardens surrounding the Inn’s central patio. Our room was spacious and en-suite, with minibar and free beer. The fireplace was excellent with extra logs supplies to keep us warm on the cold evenings. Breakfast was served not buffet style and was excellent. Staff friendly, professional and helpful at all times.

We went to San Cristobal for our anniversary and chose the Guayaba Inn based on reviews and we were not disappointed. First off Angel and the rest of the staff were amazing. Angel welcomed us each night and helped book us a few tours while we were in town. Trips to Canyon Sumidero and Lagunas de Montebello are definitely worth it after you have explored the town. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was absolutely delicious each morning. We felt the location was perfect as well. It's not right in the city center, but a short walk away and this was great as it was quiet at night, but for sure very easy to get to the hustle and bustle of the city center. As for the room we had room 6 and this was also amazing. The room was super cozy with a small balcony, fireplace and large bathroom. We slept very well each night. If you are thinking of travelling to San Cristobal we would highly recommend staying here. ||~Brett & Adriana

Just excellent. Just 10 minutes walking to the main san Cristobal plaza. Service just excellent all the way they are very polite and courteous. Room is comfy. We had breakfast and it was very good. If you stay here you won’t regret it. Just if you bring your own car keep in mind they do not have parking space but that’s not at issue.

Beautiful garden setting! Wonderful breakfast! Kind and helpful service! (Preparing fruit for us prior to our outing departure since they knew we didn’t have time for breakfast. That is just one example.) Lovely room and bathroom! Great rates Would definitely go again if we return to San Cristobal.
