Hótel Gullfoss

Stayed here 2025 Sep 19 Great location for photography shooting while traveling around golden circle. Hotel room was clean and basic Icelandic style. I do really love wood floors in their hotel rooms. It makes it feel so much cleaner than US style hotel rooms. Bathroom was updated and had interesting curbless shower with two hinge doors at 90 degree angle that did tend to allow more water to go outside shower. This wasn't too much of a problem because there were plenty of towels to use for floor.||The outstanding feature is the excellent dinner options. Food was really good. Breakfast was serve yourself with plenty of hot options as well as cold. Dining was delightful with the 2 story soaring windows in the dining area. Definitely gave it an upscale feel.

Our group of nine stayed for one night at this hotel. We told the hotel that we were celebrating a wedding and the hotel gave the bridal couple some wine as a gift. There is a restaurant for dinner but we ate before. There was a bar in a lounge that was open till 10 (?) which we did use to get together. They had some drinks & snacks in their lobby that you could buy. The rooms were comfortable although the shower was a bit small. The beds were good. The breakfast was very good - lots of variety. We would stay there again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the night while we were checking out Gullfoss. The location was perfect to all of the main attractions. The room was spotless, and the bed was comfortable.

Hotel Gullfoss feels like a peaceful sanctuary tucked away in a remote, quiet part of Iceland. If you’re looking to disconnect, slow down, and enjoy cosy vibes surrounded by nature, this is the perfect place.||The décor is warm and inviting, the rooms are a good size, and the beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable.||Food was very nice. Don’t miss their delicious asparagus soup and the very tasty dishes.||The staff are genuinely friendly and speak excellent English, which makes everything smooth and easy.||Just a small note: the hotel has a home-like, minimalistic feel. It’s quite basic in the sense that you may find yourself helping yourself to certain things, and reception is not staffed around the clock. But honestly, that adds to the charm it feels more like staying in a quiet countryside home than a traditional hotel.

This hotel is a golden gem in this area! Quaint and pleasant lodging with spacious, well equipped rooms. Restaurant was great for dinner! Had the lamb - absolutely fantastic! Service at the hotel was very accommodating and friendly.

This one is a memorable one for us! In this hotel, we were able to see with our own eyes, the magic and the spectacle of the Aurora Borealis all thanks to the very kind and welcoming receptionist Yulia! We were having dinner and she asked us if we were interested, we could see the northern lights outside so we rushed outside immediately and left our food. It was unforgettable! A once in a lifetime experience. When we returned, she even reheated our soup because it has gone cold already. Anyways, rooms are clean and spacious as well as the bathroom. Great selection of breakfast too. We will surely come back again if given the chance.

We stayed for one night, two couples and found this to be a sweet hotel. Staff were helpful and kind and offered good suggestions. We woke early and did the hike to the waterfall which was gorgeous, to get there and be the only people at the falls was worth the early wake up. Showers are spacious and breakfast was perfect.

Fabulous spot near Gullfoss Falls ( and a great place from which to access the falls first thing in the morning before the crowds arrived). Efficient staff and room was fine. Bed comfy. Delicious lamb served at dinner and breakfast was good, view at breakfast was great!
