Hótel Gullfoss

Quite a beautiful hotel. The location near the falls is perfect. Although the exterior appears older and assembled from spare bits, the rooms are extremely new, clean, and neat. The staff was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Gullfoss is a lovely, family-run hotel, located in a very quiet location just a few kilometers from Gullfoss. The rooms are nice and practically furnished. The food was very good, as was the breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and everything you could need. The staff were extremely friendly. We highly recommend the hotel!

I wanted to rate it higher but it is hard for the price. I travel a lot and the room is very basic, the bed was hard, and the pillows seemed old. The location is good as it's only a 4 minute drive or 45 minute walk to Gullfoss. The restaurant for dinner was nice and had typical prices and good food. Breakfast was just ok. I would stay elsewhere if I traveled to that area again.

This hotel is very basic but unlike hotel Dyrhólaey had an espresso machine in the room provided toiletries and the staff was super friendly, breakfast and dinner were both good and it is a five minute drive from the gullfoss waterfall. Views over the pastures with horses grazing and farm houses…..very quiet and the room though small was comfortable, and the price was reasonable.. check in and out was very easy and we will stay there again on our way back to Reykjavík

We chose this hotel for its location. From the outside it looks a bit like an abandoned army barracks! Don't be off, inside has been renovated and is modern and warm. There is plenty of parking. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was located down a long corridor and was reasonably spacious with lovely coffee machine and modern shower room. Bed was comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. The whole room was beautifully clean. Breakfast was in the restaurant, which wasn't overly big considering the size of the hotel, but was quite quiet when we were there. The buffet breakfast was an absolutely feast with plenty of choice and absolutely delicious. Would recommend a stay.

Hotel Gullfoss is the best! Beautiful location, very close to Gullfoss waterfall (absolutely the best!). The hotel has great common spaces to sit and relax, excellent breakfast and dinner, very quiet. And very comfortable.

Fantastic location with beautiful views. The restaurant and lounge area has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The staff were all very friendly and happy to chat. They will also knock on your door if the aurora is visible, unfortunately didn't happen while we were there. Nothing I can fault really.

What a beautiful place to stay! |We booked ahead so we wouldn’t have far to drive after our snowmobile tour and visit to the falls. |This hotel is remote, and very quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very kind. If we didn’t SEE all the other guests at breakfast, we would have thought we were the only guests on a weeknight!
