Hôtel Gutenberg

We really enjoyed our stay! The location is great, and extremely walkable. Our party had two rooms- one standard, and one on the top floor which was a little cheaper. The standard room was great, with a lot of space, nice windows, and a great view! The top floor room was perfectly nice, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is tall. The bathroom is up a set of wooden stairs in a loft style area, and anyone over 5'9" is going to have to spend a lot of time hunched over. I would definitely come back to the standard room in this hotel!

Excellent location steps away from the heart of Strasbourg. Could see the cathedral from my window. Spacious and clean rooms, nice and cold air conditioning, modern and upscale bathrooms, beautiful windows to enjoy the architecture nearby. ||Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a hotel, featuring fresh fruit, local jams and honey, and the most delicious local yogurt I’ve ever had in any flavor you could ask for!! I was not planning on having breakfast here and did on multiple days of my stay. ||Service was mixed. Some being very warm and friendly and others more efficient. I later saw other guests being given a map and orientation to the area upon check-in while I was not, and that would have been appreciated. I also needed to catch a train and was departing around 5am in the morning, and much to my surprise there were rowdy and drunken people on the streets right outside the hotel. I managed the walk to the tram at that hour but it was not the best as a solo female traveler. The receptionist attempted to contact a taxi for me but there was a long wait and they otherwise seemed like they didn’t know what to do or what recommendation to give me on the safest way to get to the tram station, which was a bit of a disappointment. ||Otherwise, during the day I felt very safe and was delighted with the location of the hotel.

Not knowing the area, it was difficult trying to pick a hotel. We are very happy with our choice of staying here. Great location at Place Gutenberg, very close to the cathedral, restaurants, etc. You could see the top of the cathedral from our window. There were reviews that stated it was noisy, which turned out to be before new windows were installed. Although the street below was busy, we did not hear anything. The bed was comfortable. We would stay here again.

Great location. All the main spots are in a walking distance. Room was comfortable, however the bathroom was a bit of a challenge, small and the ceiling was pretty low (if you are 1,80m tall you will bump your head). The toilet had almost no privacy from the bedroom even though when the door was closed. Breakfast was great and the staff was really friendly.

We stayed two nights at this lovely hotel in the heart of Strasbourg. The location was perfect – everything was within walking distance, and we even had a view of the cathedral from our room. The surrounding area is full of bakeries, restaurants, and shops, so we skipped the hotel breakfast to enjoy the many nearby options. The service made us feel very welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The rooms were quiet and peaceful – a bit on the smaller side, but spotlessly clean. The bathroom was spacious enough, and everything felt modern and well-maintained. Overall, we had a great and relaxing stay and can definitely recommend this hotel for a few days in Strasbourg.

We had a great 3-day stay here. The hotel is perfectly located a 15 min walk from the station, close to tram stop, very near the cathedral and a short walk to Petite France. We upgraded to a Deluxe room which was light and spacious with windows overlooking the street. Great sound proofing and a wonderful large shower. The breakfast was included in our stay and had a huge variety - pastries, cold meat, cheese, eggs, jams, cereals, breads and of course a selection of teas and coffee. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. |

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Location was perfect. Check in was easy with staff speaking English. The bed was very comfy and the heated towel bar was a bonus. We are not breakfast eaters so cannot comment on the breakfast buffet but it was quite busy each morning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Strasbourg and the Hotel Gutenberg was just the place to make it happen. The location was perfect, being located steps away from the Gutenberg Square, the heart of the historic part of town. The staff was extremely cooperative and accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable and modern, We would certainly stay there again.

i typically use a friend's flat when in Strasbourg but have stayed twice in this hotel in the center of old town, just steps from the 15th century Cathédrale Notre-Dame. a great combination of affordability, service and excellent accomodations. newly renovated, you have a choice between classic or contemporary design suites. they'll even let you inspect the rooms and choose! buffet breakfast is a treat, staff friendly and helpful. and everything is just a short walk away. a brilliant choice.

Excellent location. Newly re-decorated with 4-ply Windows so absolutely quiet while being in center-city. Full continental breakfast and very welcoming main desk staff. Priced quite reasonably. A steal!
