My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in early October 2016. Given what I saw, I am very unlikely to stay here ever again.
1. The biggest downside of the property is its location. There is a bar and strip club right opposite the hotel and that makes for a somewhat unsavory experience. My wife reported waking up on at least one of the two nights because of people leaving the bar noisily in the middle of the night. One can also tell that this is not a great area by the number of panhandlers (beggars), the "shady" businesses (think pawn shops in the U.S.), and the lack of nice sit-down restaurants in close proximity of the hotel.
2. The hotel is also quite old and its age shows in many things including the quality of floors in the lobby and the breakfast area which look completely beaten down. The elevator is also quite slow and we were surprised by how tiny it was.
3. Although they claimed to have free wi-fi, the wi-fi was slow and unreliable.
The hotel does have some positives too.
1. It is very close to the main train station - Hauptbahnhof. If you leave through the correct exit, it will literally take you less than 2 minutes to get to the hotel.
2. The staff was generally quite helpful. We particularly liked the fact that they let us check in at around 10:30 a.m. when our flight from the U.S. landed. That enabled us to sleep for a few hours before going out and touring the city. For that accommodation, we are quite grateful.
