Hotel Hacienda Posada De Vallina

I booked for two nights, on the basis of the great location, the characterful decor and a decent price. Unfortunately I only stayed for one night as I couldn't face another night there.|The room was very small, dark and shabby, and there was a very bad smell coming from the bathroom. I thought if I kept the bathroom door closed it would be ok. I noticed there was no kettle in the room, and asked if they could provide one for the morning. I was informed they don't have kettles but I could get hot water from the cafe next door! |After my day and evening in Cordoba I returned for the night to find the smell from the bathroom filling the room. I had to keep the window open to reduce the smell, however my room was on the ground floor directly off the patio area, so as a woman on my own I didn't feel entirely safe with the window open. The noise from other guests returning was very loud, I could hear every cough and conversation through the walls. Every time a toilet flushed or a tap was running the pipework was noisy. After eventually getting to sleep, I woke after a couple of hours, to an even worse smell from the bathroom. I was literally retching it was so bad. I decided there and then there was no way I was going to stay a second night. Even while showering in the morning the smell was disgusting. I didn't bother with the breakfast, which is served in the cafe next door, not in the hotel itself. |Fortunately I found a room in a much better hotel around the corner. I asked for a refund of the second night but was refused. They made some excuses about the sewers in the street causing the smell. No apology or any attempt to make amends. I was too tired to argue after the terrible night's sleep so left it at that. |Don't be taken in by the charming old building and quaint decor. This is definitely not a hotel to recommend.

Hotel is cool. Great atmosphere. Great front desk staff and check in. Rooms are quiet and cool. The cafe has good food at a reasonable price. Excellent for those who want to be in the old city near the Roman bridge and the mosque etc.

The room we had was ok and acceptable. However, the room was so smelly. When I highlighted, the staff just gave me a spray to refresh the smell. We slept 2 nights in agony as all rooms were sold out. It's the attitude of the staff that got me upset, no apology, no concern for how to address the issue we had a hand in. All he could say was that this was an old building, and perhaps the change in weather had affected the room. My sons were a few doors away, and they did not face the problem that my husband and I had. There was a terrible sewage-like odour in the room. We have nowhere to go and have to rough it out one more night.

Though the room was clean and tidy we were disappointed that there were no hot drinks making facilities in room and only way to get some was to use outside bar connected to hotel. However, if this was busy there was no way to get a hot drink, e.g. on our first night we went to the bar to get a hot drink and were told “No tea”, but with no explanation and just repeatedly say no tea which we found strange, we later found another bar said “No tea” at night (without meal?)🤬. Location of hotel was ok, reception was ok too, but our room window opened straight out onto the bar! The hotel was on a par with a British Travelodge (i.e. fairly basic)

Rooms are a bit small but quite comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful, elegant, and excellent budget-end hotel right in the middle of everything in Cordoba's main sightseeing district. Great food and great bars/cafes abound. (There's a lavamatica less than a 10-minute walk away, which they can point you to.)

Posada de Vallina is a hotel where history meets modern comfort. Standing literally next to the Mezquita, its location is unrivaled — one steps outside and is immediately in the heart of Córdoba’s old town. Inside, exposed brick walls and atmospheric corridors evoke the feeling of an ancient fortress, while the rooms themselves are updated with modern bathrooms, good WiFi, and solid soundproofing. The ground floor is particularly delightful, with antique furniture, paintings, and a small patio that serves as a communal space for coffee or wine. It creates an atmosphere that is both cozy and noble, blending Córdoba’s heritage with contemporary comfort. On the downside, parking is a real challenge. While we were fortunate to find a free space nearby, options are generally limited and paid garages are very costly. Additionally, staff interactions were inconsistent: check-in was handled in a brusque, unfriendly manner, but check-out was warm and engaging. Despite these small imperfections, the hotel delivers a truly authentic experience in the very center of Córdoba.

Beautiful hotel right at the Mezquita, Puente Romano & Plaza de Triunfo. Room was very comfortable, quiet, calm with lovely shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful with tips if what to see in Córdoba.

Other hotel was cancelled last minute. Thankfully Posada De Vallina was able to accommodate and help. To be honest it was an amazing place to stay in a wonderful part of town. Hotel was quiet and very clean, perfect after a long day of sight seeing.

This is a quaint, affordable hotel right around the corner from the Mezquita, and also close to many tapa bars and restaurants. The hotel is in an old building that has been restored and modernized, but retains the old world charm. When you enter the lobby, the Moorish influence in the decor is obvious, but feels warm and inviting. Our room was small, but as expected in Europe, though a little dark. The bathroom had modern fixtures, but the tub and shower were all in one. The staff were very helpful in assisting us with getting travel arrangements, as well, but the Wifi is intermittent. There is no parking, but there is access to a garage about 500 meters from the hotel.

The hotel and breakfast are fine, but if you have work to do...be sure their wifi is not only up, but actually working. Despite askng them to restart it, it never worked except when they gave me special access to the lobby router. A work around but not terrbibly convenient for the business traveler!
