I thought i paid for one of the nicer rooms. but it was not nice at all. Only good thing about the room was that it was big. There was horrible air quality because of no aircondition. there was an old noisy plug-in fan. The balcony had no «wall» between the other rooms. so people could walk in your room if they wanted. the balcony door had to be open at all times because of the bad air quality. The room was also outdated. I am surprised the hotel has a 4 star rating.

The location is superb its more than a 5 star Check in was fast ( they let us allowed to check in early as our room was already ready) The parking cost 25 euro a day which is really cheap. Food was good 👍 Room is super clean with complete amenities ❤️ Our room has a great ocean view. The HOTEL IS JUST PERFECT for all. I don't understand why there were some complaints about NO AC ( hello folks enjoy HAMBURG , and use electric fan ( its included int he rooms) when its too warm 🤣)

Kind of surprised at everyone’s amazing reviews of this hotel. Our room was so stuffy, with no AC, even when it was hot, humid and raining with the windows open, it took all night to finally get to a comfortable level. Hallways need some updating, while I understand it’s what they were trying to stick with the theme, it made the location dated. On a positive note, staff were great and so sweet. The hotel is in a great location next to a bunch of touristy areas, was super walkable. The sky bar is worth the visit, since the drinks were excellent, but again it was way too hot/stuffy.

I won't stay anywhere else in Hamburg! The views can't be beat and the service is great. Nautical decor everywhere in the main public areas of the hotel, some of it quite amazing, so you get a little mini museum experience too. Rooms were clean, cozy and the resturant is open super early in the morning for those on business trips- fantastic buffet style dining with fresh, amazing food every morning. Several bars in the hotel, including the old pub style one. The tower bar is worth the climb with stunning views over the city. There are several "wings" of the hotel, the historic and the regular more modern rooms. You can specify. I don't recommend courtyard view rooms as the ringing noise can be a bit obnoxious at night. It's a great home base to explore the historic port city from. I'll be back for sure.

we spent one night on our trip to Denmark in this hotel. welcome by the reception was very cool. there is only one small lift to take your luggage to the room. room and bath room is small with no airco. breakfast buffet is very good. as the name of the hotel says it is vey close to the harbour.

Yelp
I had a pretty good stay here and appreciated the proximity to the S- and U-Bahn. I think aspects of the hotel felt more on par with a 3 star rating for me, but the service was quite good so I'm bumping my rating up. The hotel is close to public transit, which is a double-edged sword - it's easy to get around, but the transit is above ground so it's kind of noisy. As a light sleeper I was worried, but I actually had no issues (and appreciated the ear plugs in the room). While the trains are close, it does require a big climb up multiple sets of stairs. If you have a lot of luggage it's wise to take a cab there. So, the not-so-good...rooms were as small as my husband and I could have managed, and the pillows were very flat (we requested two extra but honestly I could have used even more beyond that). We couldn't locate any temperature control, so it was quite warm at night. The good, though...it was comfortable, the view from our room was amazing, and the breakfast buffet was incredible. Getting laundry done was reasonable and easy, and our room was tidied each day. The front desk seemed happy to accommodate requests I made. Overall, it felt like the hotel catered toward a slightly older clientele than us (we are in our early 30s), so I'd probably seek out something a bit more design-focused or more modern next time. Still, it's a great choice for location and service!

Yelp
Top notch. If you can get a $70 rate go for it Central location, beautiful hotel great in-house restaurant. Nearby bakeries are amazing with low sugar, low-fat fare, that doesn't taste any less

Yelp
Worst two nights. First rooms smelled so bad we had to change. When we asked the front desk for a new room they said someone else said the same thing early. It smelled of chemicals and rotting flesh. The only other room available had the same issues but the sprayed air freshener. We were told we would be upgraded our second night only to find out that was not the case. It's a beautiful hotel but any place that rents out rooms that are known to smell so bad you can't walk in them... Well that's just super shitty on all kinds of levels.

Yelp
Checked in and there were ear plugs on the pillow - bad sign. No Air Conditioning meant it was very hot and the windows needed to be left open. Unfortunately it is right next door to the train station and a construction site - noise is a big issue. Also, most rooms have no WIFI though there is wired internet (a couple floors are exceptions). The wired internet required a passcode from the front desk that expires every 2 days and has a data transfer quota attached. Tough to effectively work from here.
