Hotel Hakuba Hifumi

Great ryokan experience with indoor onsen. Breakfasts and dinners are superb with fresh produce. Service is very japanese style politeness. A fantastic place for japanese ryokan experience. Call the inn if you dont see your pick up at train station as scheduled. He will turn up 5 to 10mins after. Strict bfast (3) schedules and 1 round of dinner. Small team so i guess this is necessary to ensure seamless service delivery. Confirm with hotel manager on drop off at least 1 day before check out to ensure that this listed service can still be accommodated. In my case, i had to pay for a cab service though drop off was a listed service. Not a deal breaker as hotel not too far from station. Just a surprise. Strict cutoff for meal reservation and no food service can be accommodated. Again small team so strict schedules might be necessary .Prepare some instant food. I will definitely come back some japanese experience, now being more prepared and expectation moderated.

My wife and I visited as part of a ski trip. Hifumi is a bit of a walk to the nearest ski lift but the ski bus if very close and runs more often than the timetable suggests. ||Our room (Sen) was huge and lovely. The en-suite onsen was a real luxury. Breakfast is excellent (both Japanese and European options).||The real highlight was the service. The 2 young ladies who front a lot of the service are possibly the most helpful people I have ever met. They are superb, nothing is too much trouble.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. I came for longer than a week and the service was exceptional. Every person who worked there was so nice. Every day, my bed had been made with perfection and some drinks put in the mini fridge. The hotel has a restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Breakfasts were amazing with a different kind of delicious fish every day. The hotel has a good ski storage room and a drying room. Additionally, there were onsen baths in the hotel for anyone staying at to use, as well as one in my room on the deck. Overall, this hotel was so good and I would definitely come back next time.

What a gem of a place! Top notch service location and food. Get the Japanese breakfast!! We had a room with private onsen and could see snow monkeys from the tub! Would stay here again for sure. Very close to shuttle stop and bus station too.

My husband and I stayed here this past week on our honeymoon. Everything about this ryokan was excellent. We came to Hakuba to ski and this hotel is right by the main bus station and a short walk from Happo-one. The ryokan has a dedicated ski room that's easy to get ready in and store your equipment well. I cannot say enough about how amazing the staff was. Available at any time, great at English, and will go above and beyond to assist you however you need. The best hospitality I've ever experienced. Both the public and private onsens were lovely and convenient. I appreciate that they permit tattoos in both onsens here as well. Would give this place 10 stars if I could!

From day 1, Tomo, Yuna, Terako, and everyone at Hotel Hakuba Hifumi made us feel at home, looking after us with so much care and sincerity. We had homely, affordable breakfast every morning and soaked in the private onsen at night (you can make a free booking!) They also have ski/snowboard storage in the basement and a heated room to dry those wet boots and gloves. The location is excellent: 3 min walk to Happo bus terminal; 12 min walk to Happo-One winter resort if you want something fast; and 5-10 minutes walk to great restaurants and Lawson. We stayed in a traditional japanese room which was clean, warm, and comfortable (look up pictures on their website). I’ll be staying here every time I visit Hakuba.

The nicest staff I have ever had! Everyone was extremely pleasant, spoke English well, served great food, and was willing to help you with anything. I very highly recommend this place to anyone! The traditional ryokan was a fun way to experience Japanese cultural and the staff was extremely happy and gracious to help us through anything we didn’t know. Plus it's in a very convenient location to the bus station, food options, Happo One, and convenient stores!

We were staying elsewhere but visited the restaurant just for dinner and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, plus the service was super polite and lovely. Really well-priced for 7 of us - highly recommended for anyone who loves quality, affordable, genuine Japanese! We plan to eat here again before we leave Hakuba in the next few days.
