First, AVOID any room like 410 or 412. If assigned a room on the 4th floor, ask the staff specifically at check-in if they are directly below the restaurant/kitchen. I had these specific rooms on two different stays and both times they must do deep cleaning at night. Incredibly noisy, and frankly a poor design to have guest rooms directly underneath especially the kitchen without very heavy soundproofing. Get a room on the lowers floors. That said, the staff were good in moving me to another room on the 3rd floor when the noise became intolerable at 1am. Except for this I would give the hotel 5*. The rooms are very colourful, well-heated, and clean. The beds are good and comfy. Gorgeous views out the big windows, which are well-sealed against outside noise. The staff were on top of their game, except for assigning me rooms that are known to have severe noise problems, that is. Efficient, and very friendly, There is an included breakfast buffet in that rooftop restaurant which was an average selection of offerings. The hotel has an excellent location in central Nuuk, perfect for walking to the harbour or around the commercial area.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Exceptional Stay in the Heart of Nuuk Hotel Hans Egede exceeded all expectations. The staff were incredibly welcoming, the room was spotless and cozy, and the view over Nuuk was breathtaking. The food—especially at Restaurant Sarfalik—was outstanding, with fresh local flavors and top-tier service. Perfect location, perfect comfort. I can’t wait to come back!

Nice hotel, very clean, friendly staff. There are 2 restaurants in the building and a bar. One is a steakhouse and the other is a seafood restaurant. Hallways could use some updating at this price point but otherwise a good stay. Rooms can be loud if you are facing the main road on weekends. Very central location across from grocery store and about 2 blocks from Nuuk center.

Hans Egede hotel & restaurant was built in 1987 and is located in the center of Nuuk (former Godthåb). Named after Hans Poulsen Egede (1686), the Danish Lutheran missionary and founder of Godthåb, the hotel offers 150 rooms & apartments over 5 floors, meeting rooms, restaurant & bar. Furnishings and decoration provide a nice Scandinavian & Greenland atmosphere. Service is friendly and helpful.||In a group of 60 tourists of the Le Charcot icebreaker we had a private lunch. The buffet lunch was hearty with soup, cold & hot dishes, cheeses & breads, desserts & pasties, drinks, tea & coffee. Hotel & Restaurant Hans Egede is nice Greenland establishment with tasty local & Scandinavian food. Highly recommended.

I had a bit of a rocky start to my stay due to a booking issue after a long journey, and at first, I was disappointed with how it was handled. But to their credit, the hotel management took it seriously and were genuinely keen to put things right — and they did. A number of reviews mention poor complaint handling, but my experience was completely the opposite. They listened, responded, and turned the whole experience around. The hotel itself is great — not that modern, but clean, comfortable and in a brilliant central location in Nuuk. The breakfast was excellent, and the gym was one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel. The resteraunts offers delicious local food. One tip: as flights into Nuuk increase, more guests are arriving early in the day. Official check-in is at 3 pm, so if you’re on one of those early flights, it’s worth trying to arrange an early check-in in advance. There’s not a huge amount to do in Nuuk if the weather turns, so being able to settle in early makes a big difference. Overall, it was a really enjoyable stay, and I’d happily return.

What can I say? A great hotel, very well located and just 10 minutes from the airport. HHE has the most AMAZING front desk team, restaurants and service. Everyone at the hotel was super friendly and helpful. After my return home, I reached out via email for help retrieving a receipt; Jacob found it and replied to me in just a couple of hours, amazing service!!

Overall, this was a pleasant stay in a standard twin room. There was plenty of space and good choice of channels on the TV. The bed was comfortable and the room was kept warm at all times. ||||There was a good choice for breakfast, with cold and hot choices. The hotel is well located in the centre of the capital and within walking distance of most tourist attractions. ||||The staff are pleasant and speak proficient English. A minor problem with the in room safe displaying an error message and not locking was fixed very quickly when mentioned to staff. ||||Nuuk is an expensive city generally, however, prices in the Skyline Bar are on the more expensive side e.g. 510 Danish Kroner for the original beef burger, fries and a half bottle of white wine. ||||One criticism is that check out time is a bit early - 10am. Considering that breakfast ends on weekdays at 10am and at the weekend at 10:30am, in theory, you may need to check out before having your breakfast. Having to check out a bit early also resulted in quite a number of people loitering in reception as they considered it too early to go to Nuuk's relatively small new airport.||||There is a smoking room on the ground floor - However as this is located by the lifts, the smell of cigarette smoke inevitably goes into the lift, so the lifts constantly smell of cigarettes.

I was disappointed by my hotel experience. Nuuk may not be ready for tourism like its neighbor, Iceland. While the HHE is considered the best hotel in Nuuk, it is no better than a 3-star tourist hotel in the United States. It is more like a Days Inn than a Marriott or a charming European Boutique hotel. |The deluxe polar class hotel was spartan, the bathroom small and had a moldy shower curtain that created a terrible odor in the room. There was a single window to air out the room, and the housekeeping was spotty. The hotel had breakfast in a conference room, and the food was very sad and of limited selection. The hotel was undergoing construction and the construction noise was loud from morning to night. I stayed three nights and regretted the choice.
