Hotel HCC St. Moritz

Very good location. Smart reception area. Clean rooms although a bit tired. However the staff were not very pleasant. There’s a noise similar to an extract fan which goes throughout the night only stopping for 20 minutes every 2 hours. I was informed it was the motor for the air conditioner. I was given a different room but it was only marginally better. The receptionist who visited to discuss was very abrupt and more interested in questioning how many people were staying in the room. My son who had paid for the visit and was also a guest was with me. He had to give his room number to prove we weren’t in the same room. She reluctantly moved my room but said it probably wouldn’t help and she was correct it didn’t. I would not recommend this hotel if you are sensitive to high pitched noise or like friendly staff.

what a lovely lobby and entrance, tho perhaps a ramp so people don't have to struggle with bags up stairs!! Alex on reception was lovely, checked us in early which was great and gave some great recommendations for food (he was spot on) tho i don't get how when 2 rooms are booked on the same booking by the same person they cannot get the rooms on the same floor? |the room was spacious, large twin beds, 2 chairs and table, a walk through area with closest and large bathroom. and unfortunately despite my request i have a shower over the bath, this is a peeve of mine as i'm short and i hate having to get in/a of a bath - this will always drop my rating no matter how good it is elsewhere. |Also there is no kettle for tea/coffee making in the room. with all the space and other amenities this surprises me|the air con was generally good to overnight i always seemed to get hot even with it on high! it was internal facing room so was quiet, my friend unfortunately had noisy neighbors on the 5th floor (i was in 312- recommended) so didn't have as much rest as me - tho i did hear a rooms alarm going off every morning! |breakfast costs €18.70 per day but we didn't partake so can't comment. |situated in close proximity to restaurants, bars and a 25 min walk to the bus station & the Sagrada familia. |would definitely recommend if i could get a walk in shower!

Recently stayed here after it came highly recommended. Location, terrific. Staff, reasonable to good. Rooms, I’d imagine if you’re lucky to not get one of the three rooms immediately off the lobby, they’d be quite good. Those three ground floor rooms are dark and loud. The disappointment I have with my stay is related to staff welcome, planning and follow-up. I booked a room for Friday despite knowing I’d arrive Saturday morning; notified the hotel while booking and confirmed with them on Thursday/Friday via email. Upon arrival all of my paper work said room 404; even my checkout paperwork said room 404; yet we were given 002. I alerted the staff immediately that this room was not ideal; nobody cared. They, surely, never tried to remedy this. At one point during my first few conversations with the staff checking us in I was told that “I arrived late.” Place surely isn’t bad; just maybe not the level you’d expect from the ratings.

I high commend the professional working attitude and attentive services of your staff working at the front desk, in particular Alex. He proactively offered help in carrying my suitcase upon my check-in and check-out as there are a flight of staircase at your front entrance that made me hardly handle. Moreover, he recommended several good restaurants to us when being asked. Alex also guided me to use the App for calling uber to go to the airport. I’d recommend your hotel to my friends and definitely stay at your hotel again when I re-visit Barcelona. There is one thing that I would like to bring to the hotel’s attention. The floor in the bathroom was very slippery even though it’s completely dry. We had to walk very carefully in there.

The positives: • The staff was fantastic. Super friendly and helpful (especially Alex and David). And they were great when we had an issue with the shower and they gave us a new room. • The location was perfect. Walking distance to many things and we always felt very safe. • The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked • Breakfast was decent and came with the room The negatives: • The rooms are very basic, with few ammenities. For instance, there were no tissues in the room, just toilet paper. But for the price the rooms were acceptable, and as I stated before, clean. Overall we were very happy there and would stay there again.

Our 5th time to stay in this fabulous hotel, famed for it’s location but most of all for the friendliness and efficiency of the staff….|The staff could not have been more welcoming and so efficient. Nothing was a problem. |We stayed one night before a cruise and when we returned a week later our room was ready very early. |We also had a late check-out. |So so good. |Thank you to all….

From coming out the door to help us with luggage despite the late hour to the expansive room, the HCC St Moritz has been a fantastic stay. The location was more than I could have imagined. Convenient to a prime location, easy to shop, eat, and begin tourist adventures. Room was spacious and well furnished. The only concern was the on/off nature of the climate control. I not only recommend St Moritz to others, I will likely return here in the future.

The AC system did not have a temp you could set it at, so even on the lowest setting, the room would be too cold. ||||The safe did not work properly, in 5 nights, I had to have someone come to the room 3 times to reset it. ||||The bathroom fan was not working so the bathroom would get very humid and I suspect it's been like that for a while because the ceiling was quite moldy. ||||The breakfast was lovely and all the staff were very kind, polite and helpful.

This place is shiny and relatively well done, but our expectations were set far too high and they did not meet them. Still great though but I'd probably try another hotel next time. Very dim, not a lot of natural light if you have an interior room, not a strong toilet, and there are stairs to go from the street to the lobby... not comfortable with heavy bags. Great location though!

When it comes to hotels, I do not really ask for much as long as the bed if comfy and preferably a view. this hotel is great as it is in the heart of Downtown Barcelona with all the high end luxury stores down the street. My only complaint about this hotel was the waiter/host we had for breakfast. He was extremely rude to me and the guests of the hotel. All we wanted was water and he would yell at people saying we need to put the water pitcher back even though I only brought it to the table to pour for my family so that they did not have to get up. He even yelled at an old lady for using "the wrong coffee cup for coffee".

Fabulous hotel in excellent location. 10 minute walk to Las Ramlas Spotless rooms, friendly staff and happy atmosphere.

This hotel worked out quite well for a short stay in Barcelona. The location was quite convenient, about one block off of Passeig de Gracia. The metro stop by the same name is less than five minutes walk and that will whisk you away to the various parts of Barcelona not accessible on foot. I had a room in the rear of the hotel, so I did not encounter some of the street noise that others may have experienced if the room was on the street side. This was important as the room did not have much in the way of ventilation and as a result we slept with our window open in order to keep the temperature of the room down. We were notified that there was no air conditioning in the hotel, so what we thought was a fan was in fact pumping out heat. YIKES! The room was a perfectly acceptable size and the beds were quite comfortable. I wish the nightstands had a power outlet so I could charge my phone (also my alarm clock) in arm's reach overnight. The bathroom had all the necessary amenities. The shower had a good sized ledge so you could place all your toiletries there. The room also had a good amount of shelf and closet space. The staff at the front desk was wonderful. Xavier helped me purchase tickets to the Barcelona soccer match that was taking place. The hotel had access to the ticket system and was able to purchase tickets on my behalf. It was a huge convenience. Additionally, he gave us guidance as to where to go in order to pick up the tickets at will call at Camp Nou. Additionally, we were given a great restaurant recommendation for lunch the day that we arrived. Breakfast was served in a spacious dining room located behind the front desk. There was the customary assortment of breakfast foods. It turned out to be a great way to start the morning. On the morning of my departure, they packed a to-go breakfast for me, since I left before the hotel's breakfast hours started. Should my travels bring me back to Barcelona I would consider staying at this hotel again.

We stayed for a cultural tour in this hotel. The staff was very kind and helpful. The rooms (mine was on the 3rd floor) clean and well equipped. The aspect, the terrace and conference rooms good. The breakfast was acceptable. However, 2 negative points. 1.: The room temperature is centrally controlled, in my case the room was far too hot and the only way to minimalize this was to stop the ventilation, because it was only blowing hot air at that moment and to open the windows. 2.: the fruit, served at the breakfast was only cut into pieces, so peeling of the fruit had to be done by the guests themselves, resulting in dirty, sticky hands. Improving these points would increase the score considerably.

I book this hotel every time I fly to Barcelona for work. Location is simply great and if it's not holiday season, chance is that you can benefit from a slight discount on the normal price. My room was big, comfortable and clean. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

Great location near downtown, prompt check-in desk, nice sized rooms. Furnishing modern enough. Friendly staff. Bathrooms a bit smallish but nicely furnished.

My trip to Barcelona was booked through a deal with Living Social , this Hotel was the second half of our trip after Madrid & Sevilla, My stay at the hotel was 11/16-19/13. We arrived early to the hotel around 1145am & had no problems checking into our room which was great since we needed to rest up a bit before hiding the town also helped the room was ready because unfortunately it was raining when we arrived in Barcelona. Upon arrival I immediately noticed this was a nicer hotel it seemed more modern & better kept. Nice entrance , small Lobby area to sit , lower level which I didn't check out. Behind the reception desk is the breakfast dinning room , breakfast was included with our deal although I must the say the breakfast was nothing special. Lots of breads , cold cuts , fruits , cereal & yogurt nothing hot. This was a little disappointing only because our previous hotel had such a good breakfast buffet we though it would be similar here. It wasn't but it was ok better than nothing. Next to the breakfast area is the Terrace Bar , nice area with couches to sit & a small bar. when checking in u get a complimentary glass of champagne for any night we enjoyed ours the last night of our stay. The room was nice spacious , with 2 small single beds & small couches to sit by with a table. This hotel also seemed to have the same issue with the AC the room was warm only thing is here it wasn't a problem because we were able to open the window & let some fresh air in which was great an extremely helpful in keeping the room cool. Unfortunately same deal with the TV no channels in English , when in the room resting most of the time we just watched videos since it seemed to be the only thing in English. Mini fridge here was good unlike the previous hotel it was cold. Hotel amenities were good here they did have separate toiletries. Best of all this hotel had "FREE WIFI" awesome !!!! Now that's the way to go once u are connected u r good for the rest of your stay. The connection was good, we only had an issue the first night but it was raining so that may have played a hand in it next day we had to get different codes after that no problem with the connection. You can make reservations at the lobby for tours & shows they are cheaper if made though the hotel we took advance of this & book the Flamenco Show. The hotel itself was nice, good area with plenty of restaurants , bars & shopping all within walking distance of the hotel. Friendly staff & convenient location made for a nice stay at the hotel.

No pool and no terrace as depicted in pictures. Hotel takes best pictures of each hotel and attributes them to this location. Good location although quite a distance from the true center "las ramblas". The carpet in our room was so dirty that we did not dare walk barefoot in the room. At $250 per night, this is not a good deal. Staff do not communicate among each other. We had complained that we had paid for breakfast, the night manager gave us a voucher, in the morning the morning manager stated that he was not familiar with it. At this price, breakfast for two should at least be included. Stayed many times in Barcelona, this was not a good experience.

Do not stay at this hotel ever. Our travel agent recommended it and I will make sure she does not ever recommend it again. My daughter and I went out for the evening and came back to find all of our cash stolen. $800 all we had left for the remainder of our trip. The hotel took no responsibility. We had the police come which was a waste of time. The night manager told me no one had access to our room except the housekeeper who has worked there for 30 years. He had no explanation as to who got in our room. I talked to someone else and the hotel management made it clear they would take no responsibity for the theft. Someone had to to be watching to know we left and for how long we were gone. I think this was an inside job. Beware do not stay here unless you want to risk losing your money and valuables. Donna
