Mixed feelings about this hotel.
On arrival we were welcomed by a lovely receptionist who spoke perfect English, gave us a welcome drink and let us check in early. The hotel is very clean, the pool is maintained daily and our housekeeper from Bulgaria was wonderful. We even received champagne in the room.
Unfortunately, the downsides ruined the experience. On the third night I got sick after eating the mussels at dinner and another guest had the same issue - of course I can’t be sute but I think stomach ache came with dinner. Most waitresses were unfriendly and only spoke Spanish. Noise insulation is poor, and even though we choose pool view room, there were nights with loud noise until 4-5 am.
The biggest disappointment was the “airport shuttle.” At reception I was told the price was “eighteen euro.” I even asked twice, very clearly “Eighteen? Each?” because it sounded too low. The receptionist said no, total price. Based on that, I booked it, because I already asked taxi about price and they said between 65 and 70euros. I was also asked to pay €10 at the hotel and the rest to the driver. When the driver arrived, he asked for €80 more. In total, I ended up paying €90 for a 20-minute ride - which is even more expensive than a taxi. When I showed the driver that I had already paid €10 at the hotel, he said that was just a “hotel fee” - I guess for calling the shuttle, even though the shuttle is advertised as a hotel service.
So, after paying for a 7-night stay with meals included, the hotel still charged me a more expensive shuttle than a regular taxi, plus an extra €10 fee just for making the call. The money difference itself (€20–30) is not the main issue - but the very poor English communication (not understanding my repeated “Eighteen?”) and the fact that they charge a “fee” for their own advertised service is simply unacceptable
Because of the food, poor service from staff, noise and extremely hight shuttle charge, my rating goes down from an initial 5 to only 3 stars.
