For the price charged, my experience at the hotel was quite unsatisfactory. The location is excellent, but it is worth mentioning that the street is extremely busy and it can be difficult to find peace and quiet there. The hotel facilities are nice, but very old. The single room is very, very small; it is a cubicle, in fact. Breakfast, which is paid separately, seems like a joke: some old croissants, yogurt, cheese and ham, and an old fruit bowl are laid out on the counter for god knows how long. I regretted paying for it. The room has air conditioning, but it made a very annoying noise when set to a lower temperature. Overall, I would not recommend it and would only be worth staying there again if I had paid less than half the price.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay in this small quaint hotel. Room was a good size, very clean and we had a view of the Eiffel Tower! Bed and pillows were great. Has a lift which was very helpful being on the 6th level. We didn’t try the hotel breakfast because there were so many great options outside. This hotel is the perfect location to sightsee from - very central. Highly recommend

Our stay at Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche was truly unforgettable, largely thanks to the incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, they were warm, respectful, and genuinely eager to help. After a long train ride into Paris, I wasn’t feeling well, and they immediately went out of their way to guide me to the nearest pharmacy. Their kindness made a huge difference during a tough moment. Throughout our stay, they continued to impress us with their hospitality—offering fantastic restaurant recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our time in the city. Even when we lost track of time exploring Paris and were running late for our departure, the staff quickly jumped in to help us get where we needed to be, ensuring we made it without any extra stress. The hotel itself is charming and perfectly located, but it’s the people who made the experience so special.

Wow what a location! Right in the heart of the Latin quarter, and just around the corner from Notre Dame - and a million other amazing places too. Pick any direction to walk and be amazed. Stunning everywhere. The hotel itself is lovely, quiet and comfortable. Rooms are basic but very comfortable, and our bathroom was especially spacious. Wonderful and friendly staff always welcoming and helpful. We didn't try the breakfast, instead opting to explore the many cafes in the area. Would stay again.

We had a fabulous stay at Henri IV for 5 nights. It’s close to so many lovely cafes, restaurants and shops. The reception staff were lovely and available 24 hours a day. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. It’s a simple hotel but I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Gorgeous, historic building, comfortable and really stylish interior. The bed was absolute heaven, I didn't want to get up in the morning! Really thoughtful and friendly staff who are a credit to the hotel. Highly recommended.

Great Location and Cleanliness, but Room in Need of Renovation I chose Hotel Henri IV for my business trip to Paris due to its excellent location in the city center. The Saint-Michel Notre-Dame metro station is just a few meters away, and many attractions are easily accessible. The hotel’s cleanliness, including that of the rooms, is definitely commendable. I also appreciated the staff’s reserved yet friendly demeanor. However, the condition of my room was highly disappointing. Chipped paint on the wardrobe doors, scratched walls, damaged door frames and wallpaper, as well as malfunctioning electronic controls in the bathroom, gave the room a neglected appearance. Most concerning was a suspected mold issue on the walls. Considering I paid over 900 EUR for four nights, I would have expected better maintenance of the facilities. If you’re looking for a centrally located and clean place to stay in the heart of Paris, Hotel Henri IV fits the bill. However, if you value a well-maintained room, you may want to consider other options.

Location excellent, all the night life in Latin quarter a short walk same short walk to notre dame cathedral, left bank, best of all was the very helpful manager . This hotel is very central but still in a quiet area, beautiful cafe a few short steps away with wonderful views of cathedral, a place to watch the world go by.

Yelp
We just returned from a 6 night stay at Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche. Even before we arrived, we established great communication with the hotel. They responded quickly to every email that I sent. In fact, they called me twice to review my additional requests before I arrived. They also arranged for transportation to and from the airport with a company they contract with. Our arrival and departure were both virtually stress free. Our room was cleaned daily, and the bed and layout of the room was comfortable. There is a mini-refrigerator stocked with orange juice, cokes, and water. Breakfast is served daily for an additional fee. We requested a kettle for our room to prepare our own coffee in the morning, and they were very accommodating. There is also a safe in the room to store passports and valuables. Our room was located on the 2nd floor facing a very busy street. But once the windows were closed, the room was pretty much sound proof. Best of all, the hotel is located two blocks from the Seine and a couple of blocks from the Saint Germain de Pres area where there are tons of restaurants and great shopping! We were very pleased with our accommodations, location, and service! One thing I would suggest to travelers is to request a room with a lower rise tub. Ours was high in comparison to what we are used to. If you are elderly and have difficulty stepping into and getting out of a higher rise tub, you should ask for a room with a lower rise tub and also a safety bar to hold onto while exiting the tub. Other than that, everything was perfect. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Paris.

Yelp
I loved loved loved this hotel. I ended up booking this hotel last minute when I read up on all the reviews from the previous hotel I had booked. In the Latin quarter and near Notre dame it's a lively and safe area. The staff was very friendly and I absolutely loved the rooms. They were clean, sheek and all you need. It's a small hotel but still very nice within a great location. When I visit Paris again I plan on staying here again as it was perfect. Charming, small and overall beautiful. You can walk to most sites but also close to the subway or you can haul a cab. Lots of cute French bars, restaurants and markets near to give you exactly what you need. Happy yelping mis amigos

Yelp
A big five stars for this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect! Next to Norte Dam Cathedral and all the hot spots in downtown Paris. Most sites are in walking distance or a quick cab away. Even better, the staff is truly amazing. We took a cab and the cab driver said he only "took cash" once we arrived to the hotel. We hadn't had a chance to visit the atm and we were stuck. My husband went into our hotel and asked the kind lady at the front desk what he should do. She lent us 10 euro to pay for the cab. I was in complete awe. On Saturday evening we wanted to have a traditional French restaurant and needed some help as all places we knew of were booked. The kind women at the front desk went down a list of restaurants and even called them for us! This is a small boutique hotel that provides top notch service. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
A lovely hotel in the Latin District of Paris. I would definitely stay here again in the future. A short walking distance to Notre Dame, great restaurants in the area, safe, helpful staff, and a yummy breakfast every morning made this stay memorable.

Yelp
First night here and I'm loving it already. The staff are so nice and helpful! The Hotel itself is small and very boutiquey. Very charming, warm, and welcoming. The rooms, i guess some would say, are small, but i like them. Everything is very functional and space saving. The bathrooms feel pretty large. So it's easy for my fiance and I to both be in here at the same time....did i mention location yet....this place has it all.

Yelp
My family of 4 (2 young kids) - plus my MIL - stayed here in July 2011. I did extensive research for hotels in the Latin Quarter / Notre Dame area because we only had 2 nights in Paris and wanted to be central and conveniently close to everything for our very brief stay. The reviews for Henri IV I found online were mixed but generally satisfactory. A major complaint from other reviewers was the noise from the street especially if one got a room facing the front of the building. Mind you the view from my MIL's room that was facing the street was spectacular! St. Severin church was right across the street from the hotel and beyond in the distant you can see the Eiffel Tower. We got the larger suite room at the back of the building (which was my preference given the fact that we have 2 young jetlag kids and wanted optimum sleeping conditions). Luckily since my MIL is a very sound sleeper and jetlag she did not experience any issues with noisy weekend revelers down in the streets below. And we were there from a Sat. through a Mon. Apparently the windows are double glazed and sound proof. Us being in the back of the building was perfect. We had 3 single beds which we were able to make do as my youngest was only 2 so can easily share a single with one of us adults. (See photos) The hotel overall is very typical of European cities but very well maintained. Things are cramp and small. It's an older building that they've converted into a modern hotel. If you go with an open mind and no particular expectations then you will find Hotel Henri IV perfectly decent. The only complaint I will make is probably about the breakfast that came with the room. Not all that spectacular. I would recommend Hotel Henri IV if you're ever in Paris.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the place. The woman at the front desk was kind enough to help us deal with a cabbie situation (and one of the only Parisians who would actually speak French with a lowly American such as myself). In fact, all the staff was stellar and so sweet. The room was cozy, just enough for two people and small luggage. Clean, view of the Eiffel Tower from our bed, honestly could not be beat for price and location in such an expensive city. Centrally located, two steps from Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, everything within the Île-de-la-Cité. Two thumbs way up.
