Hotel Hessengüetli

We stayed a night here and found it quiet, charming, comfortable and clean. There was a sweet welcome when we arrived, a feeling of informality, and we liked very much the colours and design of our room. The beds were very comfortable.The fittings were practical and well considered. The breakfast was varied and copious in choice. The atmosphere was very cosy. The owner had bought paintings from all over the place when travelling and they make it very joyous. Parking was easy and close to the entrance. The only shortcoming, typical of Swiss hotels ( usually much less pleasant than this one) was a lack of a fan or air conditioning. Apparently the latter is not legal in Switzerland.

We chose this hotel because of the proximity to the Zurich airport - we had to be there for a flight the next day. |The location was nice and quiet. The room was roomy and the shower was awesome. |We walked about 20 minutes to get to the train station and the downtown restaurants. |Breakfast was adequate - everything about our stay was nice. Might look for a place a little closer to town next time, though.

This hotel is hosted by the warmest and most friendly couple. They prepare a great breakfast and will happily assist you with near travel guidance and advice. We stayed 3 nights and found this accommodation most handy to Zurich for daily visits to the city. Trudi is an absolute delight. Would we return?.....absolutely! If you can, visit nearby Wulflinger restaurant...first class dining.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I had the privilege of staying at the Hessenguetli Hotel in Winterthur. It absolutely met our needs and was in a convenient location to be able to come and go in the area. The best part, though, was how warmly we were welcomed by the family running this lodging. We were absolutely treated like family! They were so very helpful when we had questions about the area, etc.. For the price, this hotel has a good location and a delicious morning breakfast. We would recommend it to anyone.|

Hotel is placed quite outside of centre (about 5 min by car) but in a quiet place. Opposite the hotel there is a forest with view point on top which is nice for walking/jogging. Hotel has not so modern room but it is enough for a few nights. Breakfast are very good and tasty! And I can't forgot on Mrs. Jakoubi, very pleasant woman. :)

This hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood about 20 walking minutes of downtown Winterthur and the train station. There are several free parking spots in the middle of the way, so if you have a car the walking time can be halved. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, include free wireless Internet, and there are plenty of free parking spots on the property, which makes it great for people on road trips. The owners are very nice and attentive.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel in September for a night. It was very easy to find the hotel.||We got the family room because we travelled with our dog. The room was huge. It had like 4 or 5 single beds, table, chairs, tv and even some book if somebody would like to read.||The owners are really friendly and helpful.||I would recommend it to anyone.

This was our second stay at the Hotel Hessenguetli and it was as perfect as the first one. There are a lot of things to like about this hotel: 1. The owners are extremely friendly and hospitable. 2. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, on the large side for European hotels. 3. The hotel offers free parking on its private lot. 4. Free Wifi. 5. The location is very convenient, within walking distance of the Winterthur train station, which makes this hotel a good candidate for a visit to Zurich. 6. Nice breakfast buffet included in the room rate. Very recommended!

What a lovely place, quiet and clean. The breakfast is good. But best of all the owner is super friendly and nice. This is a hidden gem in the Zurich area.
