We spent our holidays in Heubad and found the hotel very comfortable. We had a deluxe xl room which was very spacious and nicely furnished. The staff was mostly kind, though slightly on the cold side, and the owners nice and helpful (they promptly raised the indoor pool temperature which we found too cold for us). Breakfast is rich and varied. Dinner is excellent and desserts are outstanding. |Sauna and wellness area is excellent.|Room for improvement: dinner is served on the first floor in a large dining room and 3 or 4 smaller stuben. Most of the service is carried out in the corridor leading to the dining rooms so that guest are forced to see and hear actions that are normally carried out in the kitchen (washing of glasses, sorting of bottles etc). ||

A beautiful Spa hotel in a stunning part of the world. Stayed here in June with my wife and daughter. Feels very authentic and homely but also feels like an understated luxury also. Two great pools, lovely restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the Spa was great too. I've stayed in other Spa hotels that lack the charm and authenticity. The people there are lovely. Didn't want to miss the chance to state my gratitude. Hope to stay again one day!

Very clean and nice hotel, in which we stayed for aprox. 1 week, for our ski holiday. The room was not very new/modern, but it was comfy and clean and we had a very good sleep. We needed some time to figure out the heating system, but in the end, it was all fine.||The food was absolutely beyond expectations, tasty, lovely presentation, interesting combinations! the service the same.||They have a very lovely pool and sauna/relaxation space, free of charge, which is absolutely fabulous.||So i could not recommend it more!

Superb, extremely well run, as well as great value hotel! ||We understand why people keep coming back year after year to this family-run operation: after a few days, you are part of the family! ||Great ambiance, good food (we took the 1/2 board option: at breakfast, you are given a sheet with the weather, a local recipe, and the menu of the evening: you can then tell them what you are allergic to, and they’ll propose something else). There are several delightful dining rooms (we prefer the smaller ones, more intimate). ||But, what we liked BEST was the SPA area: large, sunny, covered pool overlooking the village and its church from afar (however, a little too much chlorine for my taste as I am allergic to it), 2 large saunas (one with wonderfully aromatic hay), 1 small steam room, 1 huge round tub of cold water for the bold ones and a lovely silent relaxation room ( remember that we are in a “Germanic” area where one takes saunas in the nude). There is also a small but good gym next to the main pool. The actual SPA is lovely and unpretentious: Paula gives great “hay treatments” (you lay on a warm water bed covered with aromatic hay…SO relaxing after a whole day skiing!). ||The rooms are very, very nice: even the least expensive ones come with plush robes and slippers (do ask for one overlooking the valley). On the ground floor, there is a nice area with a lot of toys and legos for children, as well as a library area with many books on the art and history of the region. ||The only glitch is the WIFI: it rarely works, even downstairs in the lobby ( however we appreciated the fact that it is cut off at night in the bedrooms to avoid electro magnetic pollution)||All in all, the Heubad is a great value hotel that we recommand highly ( if you go during the winter, it is a little far from the slopes, but it is well worth it) ||Thank you Elizabeth, Martha, Paula, and the whole crew, chefs and waitresses included! ||We shall be back!

My husband and I return travel to Heudbad since years. ||We love this place and highly recommend it to everyone who is traveling to South Tyrol. As it is a family run hotel you get the best, warm hearted service you would ever expect. The rooms are very spacious, the food ( prepared by Alberto and his team) is delicious and the facilities ( indoor and outdoor pool) are lovely and well maintained. Heudbad even recently renovated the spa- spot on, very tasteful! ||Thank you to the Heudbad team for making our stays always unforgettable.

Kind of mixed feelings unfortunately…||||Very disappointed with:||||* Restaurant: not effective at all. Every time we were dining there or having lunch it took HUGE time. Moreover once we had a dinner there and ordered two starters and two “primi piatti” (pasta). We were assured by the waiter that it will take a little time to make both kinds while we also said that we are in a hurry, and want to make dinner fast. So… they managed to deliver only starters. We were waiting those pasta dishes for more than 25 min. After this enormous waiting time we explained that we could not wait any longer and left. Still we were charged for those two! So, reserve at least 1,5 hour for a dinner. ||||* Turkish bath: I had a possibility to go there only once during our stay and the visit was quite disappointing. I tried Turkish/steam bath. First of all: the cabin (it is really A CABIN accommodating only one person at a time comfortably) is made of plastic! When I sat down in it I immediately felt that “fishy” plastic smell which is neither very useful for a human nor а suspicion whether this plastic smell would harm your body is particularly therapeutic.||Secondly, last 20 minutes before the closing time the cabin did not function well, i.e. it simply stopped to warm up! At that moment all showers provided only cold water so I had to go to sauna for several minutes just to warm up before showering (I suggest, it would be quite profound movement from the management to get the idea that NOT ALL people though are allowed/prescribed/wish to visit particularly sauna, even in necessity just to warm up before showering). ||||* Wi-Fi connection! It almost does not exist! Yes, you have it in the lobby, but it is unavailable neither in your room, nor even in the restaurant which area is just 4 meters away from lobby. Ok, if hotel with such high prices cannot afford even wi-fi signal amplifier I think management could make a deal finding second-hand one, yes, they cost already nothing! Here, I guess it is important to note that the area around is most suitable for driving or biking, so maps and planning your next day route are essential!||||Could be improved:||* Our room was facing north, so it was not that much sun in the mornings, while for breakfasts we were sitted also on the northern side, so the impression that there is no sun in this place have been completed successfully. I would suggest guests will be sitted for breakfasts in the areas opposite to their rooms. Just for change at least as for some people it is important. ||||* Hotel has vast swimming pool premises, both indoor and outdoors, but if you are after a space to practice some yoga/pilates you will not find it after morning hours. I tried in summer, and did not succeed. Everybody is in the pool or next to it on any sun-beds. It also did not look like there was any vacant space around without sun-beds…||||On the plus side: ||* Good, varied breakfast, you can boil an egg (unusual in South Italy).||* Breakfast staff was fantastic: helpful, cheerful, positive. They even remembered that I want fresh cucumber in slices to every breakfast. They really saved our stay!||* Clean-up/trimming of the room was very good, also ladies making it were always very nice to us (as we got ill and had to spend quite a lot´s of time in the hotel).||* In-house massage: reasonably priced, very nice massage therapist.||* Hotel is maintained well, everything looks equal to their pictures.||||All in all, it would be quite comfortable hotel for an old-fashioned chap enjoying local newspapers in the morning, but for us that was close to disaster.

This was our second stay in this hotel and we did not want to stay anywhere else after our first time. The class, the service, the wonderful amenities you get for the price : unbeatable. Most important is: the peace you will find. You are close to everything but yet, you feel like you are a milion miles away from the real world. Oh and: amazing food: fresh & delicious!
