Hotel Heureka, Cannaregio, Venice, Italy - Explore & Book

"In a city dripping with elegance, it’s hard to stand out. But this 16th-century canal-side palazzo dazzles with its strikingly flamboyant makeover. Sumptuous (but not chintzy), historic (but not stuffy) and lavishly Baroque (but not vulgar) - it's a hard mix to pull off, but the owners have got it spot on. After years spent hunting the perfect building to host their vision, the doors of this crumbling palace were flung open and - Eureka! - a hotel was born. Faithfully restored keeping the original layout, the exposed brickwork, polished marble floors and beamed ceilings provide the canvas for bold art and playful furnishings. 10 rooms offer superb beds and free-standing tubs; 2 large piani nobili house sitting rooms with opulent Murano chandeliers and a grand piano. If all this overwhelms, the antidote can be found in the walled garden, a haven of tranquility for alfresco breakfasts and afternoon naps. Tucked away in laid-back Cannaregio, the hotel provided the magic of Venice we were looking for. Nearby bàcari serve cicchetti (light bites) to local artisans and canal-sides buzz with drinkers lapping up the last rays of sun. We hear grumbles of Venice losing its allure, but this hotel left us completely under its spell. Highs A peaceful canal-side setting in authentic Cannaregio, where you're worlds away from the hordes of tourists and tat shops Stunning interior design flair all wrapped up in a 16th-century palace The peaceful shaded garden is a rarity in Venice. It’s blissfully quiet apart from the birds While the building is palatial the service is warm and very friendly The owners have remained true to the original palazzo layout, which means you get lots of communal space Lows No restaurant on-site, but there are lots of excellent options within a short stroll, and a snack menu at the bar It’s a bit of a hike (20 mins or water taxi) to the main sights, but if you're looking to explore hidden Venice it's a fine location No twin rooms While they accept children, all that precious art on display may invite little wandering hands" - Ben Reed

What a fantastic experience in Venice! If you are looking for a luxury boutique hotel with incredible service and staff, look no further. The hotel itself is beautiful and the grounds are a delight. The rooms are gorgeous and everything is very comfortable. We truly enjoyed the location as it is convenient to everything that downtown Venice has to offer, but it is on the outer edge of the busy area so you can enjoy some peace and quiet while still being just steps away from restaurants, shops, etc. The staff are all so kind, welcoming, and helpful. Andrea, Claudia, and Raphael are just a few of the great staff there!

Hotel Heureka is a peaceful oasis just outside the busy heart of Venice. It’s perfectly located close enough to reach everything by foot or water taxi, yet far enough to enjoy true tranquility. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the concierges, who were incredibly kind and willing to arrange anything we needed. Their genuine hospitality, along with the rest of the hotel staff, made us feel completely at home throughout our stay. The hotel itself is intimate and elegant, with only ten rooms, which creates a truly personal atmosphere. Each room is beautifully designed, full of character, and radiates Venetian charm. The warm ambiance and authentic details made it a truly unique experience for our honeymoon. Hotel Heureka isn’t just a place to stay, it’s an experience. We look back on it with great fondness and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic, luxurious, and peaceful retreat in Venice.

We stayed at the Hotel Heureka for three nights as part of an anniversary trip. It was outstanding! Located in a quiet part of Venice, the hotel was a great respite after a full day of sightseeing. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The concierges went out of their way to assist with dinner reservations and recommendations and provided detailed instructions to help us navigate the water taxi to Burano. The staff remembered my husband's birthday with a chocolate dessert (complete with candle) after breakfast on his birthday! The included breakfasts were delicious, and the bar was a great place to get a drink and aperitivo at the end of the day (thank you Diana for a fun spritz lesson and delicious drinks)! We would gladly recommend the Hotel Heureka to anyone looking for superior lodging and hospitality in Venice.

I stayed here for New Year’s this year, one of the most beautiful hotels that I’ve stayed at during my time in Italy. They upgraded me and gave me a fruit basket. It was amazing. The area was quiet and peaceful, very serene. The food was amazing. The staff was so friendly. really one of the best experiences that you can get in Venice.

5 Stars Our stay at Hotel Heureka in Venice was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Andrea, who went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home. The hotel itself is stunning—charming, elegant, and full of character. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed and impeccably maintained. Each morning, we were greeted by Diana at breakfast, who was kind, attentive, and always made sure we had everything we needed to start our day. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Hotel Heureka is a hidden gem in Venice, and we can’t wait to return!

We spent 3 nights in Heureka (my wife, my eleven yeae old and myself) - Suite No 1.||The hotel us located in the Cannaregio district. It’s in a quiet area of Venice (which is great) - yet only 12 minutes from Rialto and 20 minutes walking from Piazza San Marco. It’s very close to Mafonna dell’Orto waterbus station (and hence easy access to the airport).||The welcome was very friendly and warm - as was our interaction with all the staff all along our stay.||The hotel has only 10 rooms. It is located in an okd palace which has been renovated in an absolutely mindblowing way, marrying the old and the modern. The attention to detail is really fantastic - I do not know who the interior designer was, but he/she would truly deserve praise and prizes for that. I’ve stayed in many great hotels, but this for sure is one if the nicest.||The garden in the back is an absolute wonder (don’t forget, it’s Venice).||If you want to give yourself a treat innVenice, this is the place to go.

Cannaregio is a great area to stay in for a Venice short break and Hotel Heureka is the perfect place to stay in Canneregio.||The 25 minute walk to San Marco is close enough to be practical, but far enough to get away from the hubbub of “tourist” Venice. Whilst Heureka proved to be quiet, relaxing and comfortable, it was the staff that made the hotel a “must”. Every member of the team was friendly and helpful, but special praise for Franco. He greeted us on arrival, checked on us throughout our stay and made great recommendations for restaurants.||We enjoyed a very good breakfast in the garden most days, and had no more than a 5-7 minute walk to a range of superb local restaurants each night.

This hotel is amazing. I could go on and on about the rooms, cleanliness, style, etc. But the staff really makes Hotel Heureka shine. Every single staff member treated us like family, and went above and beyond to make our stay as relaxing as possible. Heureka is a gem! The location is PERFECT. It is not a long walk at all if you want to find the tourist spots. Great restaurants are minutes away. Don't second guess it, book here.
