Hotel Hevresac, Mao, Menorca - Explore & Book

"In the brief time between stepping through the front door and finding our room, Hotel Hevresac’s beguiling mix of eclectic vintage furnishings, eye-bending floor tiles, and numerous contemporary artworks already had us enchanted. Set in Mahón's historical centre, we'd arrived at the former residence of an 18th-century captain and merchant, famous for chronicling the minutiae of the port's activities. A veritable library of Menorca-related guides, magazines and pamphlets on display appear as homage to the previous owner's literary travails. A cosy communal lounge offers plenty of comfy low-slung seating to leaf through the literature. There are eight extremely stylish rooms scattered across the building, and downstairs the old bodega provides a vaulted breakfast room and shared kitchen for guests to prepare their own food. Having done away with the fuss of check-in, everything is coordinated in advance via phones or email. Host and owner, Ignasi, has perfected the balancing act of hospitality, leaving guests to enjoy the space as if it were their own home, while making himself available 24/7 for anything from restaurant tips to taxi bookings. As well as the perfect base from which to explore the Menorcan capital and its surrounds, the colourful and characterful Hotel Hevresac is an attraction in its own right. Highs Idiosyncratic mix of 18th-century charm, contemporary art and tasteful modern refurb throughoutPersonal virtual concierge service available around the clock – Ignasi is a goldmine of local infoCharming guest rooms with big comfy beds, original period features and lots of natural lightA fully-equipped kitchen available for guests’ use - ideal for preparing day trip picnicsChoice of regular or electric bikes available to hire on-site Lows The hotel doesn't have anything in the way of spa or pool facilities, but Ignasi can assist with booking treatments in the areaThere’s no restaurant but there are lots of places to eat nearby, plus you have the option to self-cater in the communal kitchenNo televisions in guest rooms (though tablets can be provided)Minimum stay over July (two nights) and August (three nights)" - Leon Beckenham

We loved this hotel - the location, the Art, the breakfast, the communal areas. The owners have thought of everything including free toothbrush if you have forgotten to pack one! Every wall and corner has interesting and quirky Art. Our room was so comfortable and the bed linen and towels were such good quality (not like some hotels). We were made to feel so welcome with a lovely email before arrival as well as another on check out day saying we could continue to use the communal areas for the rest of the day if needed. The hotel was recommended to us by friends and we are so pleased we decided to find out for ourselves what a great place it is. Thank you Ignasi !

we had an unforgettable stay in this beautiful hotel! Everything is so tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, it felt very cozy to spend some time here. The breakfast was probably the best I ever had too, high and healthy quality products served by a friendly lady asking me about my preferences. The owner also super friendly and very welcoming. Overall, cannot recommend more and hoping to come back

A magical place in Minorca, where design meets art and relax. A boutique hotel that I would definitely recommend to my friends

Loved it there! Higly recommended. Great location (in the City Center but still a big parking close by (October always found a spot)). Amazing Hotel with a lot of little Details and unqiue art. So much to explore and to enjoy. Loved all the books. Great host with easy communication via WhatsApp and in person during breakfast. In the evening we come back and the hat lights on the stairs!!! First time for me and it is such a small but wonderful and unique thing. Just go there.

Second hotel from Ignasi, the passionate owner of Ses Sucreres, in Minorca as well. |Very cosy feel as home hotel in the centre of Mahon. Decorated with a lot of attention and "petits machins ici et là". Very artistic, creative and fun.|Mahon was way more interesting as expected, and worth a few days.|We highly recommend!

The most amazing place to stay. Wonderfully decorated and everywhere you look there is an interesting object or painting or photo to look at. Breakfasts were also great with lots of fresh fruit and excellent coffee.

In conversation with the owner who enquired ETA. I was whatsapping that my flight was on time. That I landed and was in transit. That I needed assistance with my luggage. Especially as it was on a high floor after a lengthy travel. Got there and literally no one was there to greet me. Just a WhatsApp or phone call. We had booked a reservation for dinner and had to hoik the suitcases upstairs ourselves. I had a bad back from travelling. Was told they are not 24/7. Even after I was diligent with time of arrival. It felt very cold and unfriendly. Luckily only one night and we stayed in Cuitadella for less in a hotel that trips over itself to help you. A perfect antidote. Unless you are happy with no concierge or welcome on arrival avoid

We stayed in Hotel Hevresec for two nights in june. It was so wonderful and being there feels like being at home. The hotel itself is so beautiful and every little detail has been thought of. The owner Ignasi is so nice and we could’ve chatted to him for hours. The breakfast was excellent and the coffee was the best coffee we had during our stay in Menorca. We will stay here again when we come to Mahón again.
