My wife and I had been to the beach to watch the sunset and had a drink in their restaurant. We didn’t realise that the beach car park (not linked to the hotel) had closed, and discovered that our car had been locked inside! So we went to the Hibiscus reception where Natalie and her mother were just about to close up for the day. They then stayed later than they needed to, in order to book us a taxi, and when that didn’t work they even offered to drive us back to our hotel themselves. ||We didn’t see inside the rooms, but the restaurant had amazing views out over the ocean looking directly at the sunset, with great service and cocktails. The garden was green and lush. It had a very tranquil and natural feel (and we left wishing we were staying at the Hibiscus instead of our hotel!). ||Thank you Natalie and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting!

Stayed 5 nights here in a room in the building. House keeping doesn't do much - they didn't remove an empty pizza box, didn't wipe sunblock drops on the basin etc - seems all they do is pull the sheets up. The light in the room was flickering so we fixed it. The sheets had a little rip in one of them and a small stain on another. The restaurant was ok but the outside tables are often reserved despite no one sitting at them for hours, and the prices are too high. Reception were helpful in the few minutes I dealt with them to check in, arrange a taxi to the ferry, and check out. The pool is great but you can get MUCH better accommodation for a lot less money. Overall, this place is too expensive for what you get.

Had a lovely stay in a lagoon view room and were very sad to leave today. We have now moved on to a different hotel on the island and would prefer to be back at Hibiscus. The beach was literally twenty metres from our front door and the water is great for swimming and snorkeling. If you don’t want to eat at Sunset Restaurant on the property there are great and affordable options just a short walk down the road. If in Mo’orea again would not hesitate to stay here.

There was an issue when we arrived but within a short time, everything was resolved with complete satisfaction. The location is amazing with lovely beaches for swimming and snorkeling. Food was good in the restaurant and service excellent. Room cleanliness was great. The family that runs the hotel are lovely people and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to a few days away from it all . It will” have a beautiful pool and the gardens are lovely. Do book air conditioning units.

I never in my life had to post a review like this but it was so shady i thought it warranted for other people to avoid this hotel as much as possible. Our expedia booking explicitly said buffet breakfast was included. This women charged us 6800 ($68) and said that didnt include the eggs and ham. What is a “buffet breakfast” then? Not inly that breakfast was terrible, powdery eggs, jam was way too sour. We asked credit she insisted had to be cash. I was taking cash out of my purse was going to give her a 10,000 ($100) for change and she proceeded to take all the cash out of my hand and said she would just take 4000 instead. And handed me back change. We just walked out and realize we didnt have the 10,000. If we didnt have another activity to get to i would have stayed longer to inquire about the missing money. My boyfriend went back and asked the same lady if we had dropped any money and then she said oh the 10,000? (Unprompted) and said ahe gave it back to me. SUPER shady. We are out $100 - i cant prove it but the whole thing was super shady.

I have traveled extensively throughout the islands of French Polynesia and the Hotel Hibiscus is a treasure. The garden and lagoon view bungalows are absolutely adorable and many of them are newly refurbished with lovely island style decor. Each bungalow has a nice sized island style lanai, fantastic mini kitchen amenities and a lovely bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are lovely. The bungalows also have a mini safe for passports, wallets, etc. The decor of wooden furniture in the bungalows is unique and special. Many of the garden bungalows offer AC as well. The swimming pool is in a beautiful setting with very nice styled lounge furniture and has gorgeous trees surrounding it for shade ….fabulous! The lagoon on in front of the hotel is breathtaking and has some of the most gorgeous sunsets on the island. The restaurant on the hotel property, which was recently remodeled, has an extensive menu which features the freshest fish, meats and produce. The menu is very extensive and the culinary selections are perfect to meet everyone’s (including children’s) taste. The restaurant has a wood burning pizza oven and I could seriously eat their pizza for every meal, its that good! Every meal I ate was very very good. The staff at the front desk as well as in the restaurant are very professional, kind, friendly and accommodating!

We stayed 9 nights in Bungalow 12 as a couple. ||We enjoyed the location of the bungalow as it had a sea view and it was modern, one of the refurbished ones, with air/con. It's comfortable, although there's not much storage and it would be greatly improved if there were some hooks in the bathroom. The real benefit is the small kitchenette with the fridge, so we actually went to the supermarket and had a well-stocked cupboard/fridge to have our own breakfast everyday on our terrace.||The Reception area is small and a little bit run-down, the staff are very helpful and attentive. Note, there's no concierge service, it's DIY and the reception work hours are during the day only and start after most of the trips pick up. Basically, there's no help, if your tour doesn't arrive or you need help outside of regular hours.||There's a dichotomy with this hotel as it's listed as a 2Star, but in many ways the quality of the bungalow, the setting, location on the lagoon is much higher than that. Then you visit the pool, the tired/dirty sun beds, and the fact that there's no shade anywhere and you realise it's 2Star for the overall offering. You get what you pay for.||In our case, as we were staying for a while, we rented a car, bought our own parasol umbrella, sun bed (yes, we went to a gardening store) and made the best of it.||The Sunset Restaurant is a real bonus, the staff are very attentive and hard-working. The quality of the food was good, and the cocktails were a real treat. Much better than the bigger hotels that are 4/5Star.||Sunset: Each evening wonderful!||The hotel grounds (other than the pool) were immaculate and the cleaners have a fantastic work ethic, our room/bathroom was spotlessly cleaned everyday. Thank you Vanna and her aunty.||I think one of the main plus points, in our view, was that the bungalows are well-spaced out and you don't feel 'on top of each other'. ||Our holiday was a wonderful relaxing break, and we would love to return again one day!|
