Hotel Hohenstauffen

Nice little hotel not far from the main station. It preserved the look of an older mansion house, yet with a modern, updated bathroom. Friendly, very helpful English speaking staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Good variety of breakfast food. The only thing I actually missed was a small fridge for our drinks. All in all a very good place in an excellent location(15' walk to the old town) for a nice holiday in Salzburg.

The people at the reception were friendly. The location was easy to navigate through the city. The breakfast was okey. However, my room experience was unpleasant. As far as, I looked at the photos at Google and Booking, I couldnt see the photo of the room. At one corner of the room, there were shower cabin and sink. This wasn't good and I had to open my windows to ventilate the room. If they give this room to people, people should have a chance to see photos before reservation Also, there was a cushion between the wall and the bed and that cushion was not clean enough. There were stains.

Location is excellent just 5min walk from the train station. Service is good, receptionist is friendly. We are family of 5 so we are given a apartment in the building beside the main reception block. It's dated vintage feel but very clean and comfortable, mattress is thin for me and i have backache in the morning. It will be better to have a digital lock or at least a more "lighter" key. We are given a huge key chain to a small key. There isn't any kettle or tea cups in the room itself. I asked from the receptionist and he gave me things that I need that I can bring to use in the room. Something different from the usually accommodation.

We booked a room for 3 nights. However, during our trip my mom fell and hurt her knee making it hard for her to walk etc. When we got to the hotel we noticed our room only had a bath with the shower inside the bathtub. We asked for a different room with only a shower but they were fully booked. He tried everything he could to make it work for us but it just didn't/couldn't. When we asked to cancel he was so nice and let us cancel for free! I highly recommend this hotel especially for the outstanding service!!

It was a nice experience to stay in this quiet hotel. It's just few minutes walk from the Salzburg station. The owners are nice and breakfast is good, and they kindly boiled fresh eggs for us when asked|Rooms are comfortable and it's in a quiet street |Would recommend this hotel

The most disappointing aspect was the amenities in the rooms themselves. There was no dust-bin itself provided in the room. There was no electric kettle and tea/ coffee, this is something every hotel does by default. There was a pungent smell in the hallway leading up to the room. While the rooms have been setup for a quaint old fashioned look, amenities should be modern. Not worth the money.

I had a pleasant stay here in late November 2024. The hotel itself is very quiet - I didn't hear street noise or from other rooms. It was very convenient to walk the train station and bus station, and an easy walk into the Old Town as well. Staff were friendly. I booked online and did need to pay a room tax in cash (3.50 euro for 2 nights) which was fine. I did not do the breakfast so can't comment on that (I'm never impressed by hotel breakfasts and prefer when traveling to get something out and about). The bed was quite hard, and only 1 pillow per bed (luckily I was given a double and used both pillows). Another quirk is the heavy door key which you give to reception when you come and go which is a little odd but no problem. I forgot to take a photo of my room - it did not seem to be as outdated or garish as some of the other photos. Maybe I got lucky or they've remodeled recently. All in all for the location it worked quite well and would recommend especially if on a budget.

Had a truly wonderful stay at Hotel Hohenstauffen which is definitely underrated and one of the better hotels in the area. Linda (the manager) was very friendly and welcoming, and saw to many things herself (e.g. serving drinks at breakfast). She also took care to accommodate us, such us by allowing us to leave our luggage after checking out, lending us a power adapter to use, filling our hot water flask. The room was very clean and had a nice quaint feel to it. Beds and bathroom were in good condition. The breakfast spread was also great and very good value at 6 Euro per person. Excellent location with the main train station just a few minutes away, and the main attractions in Salzburg were easily accessible. Good food options in the vicinity as well. Overall, Hotel Hohenstauffen was great value given the quality and convenient location. Would like to convey our gratitude to Linda for her hospitality and a fantastic stay!

Fantastic! Quiet stay in Salzburg - tons of history and charm in this establishment. Located a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A genuine hands-on approach (as opposed to chain hotels who sometimes don't seem to care about their guests). The staff is very welcoming, kind, and helpful. I will for sure stay here again if I'm back in Salzburg! Thank you for such a nice stay.

I stayed here for one night with a friend in late December 2018. Most hotels in the area seemed to be of the same quality (ie. on the older side). We got a twin bed room - the bed was extremely comfortable and I had one of the best sleeps of my trip. Street was quiet though I did keep the window closed. Bathroom was clean and relatively large. Wifi signal was strong. Breakfast included bread, cheese, meats, yogurts, juices and small pastries - more than I was expecting. Check-in was easy. Though hotel was on the older side, the bed and bathroom didn't feel that way. It was easy enough to walk from the Salzburg train station to the hotel, nearly impossible to get lost!

I stay here every time I'm in Salzburg and love it. They have a great breakfast and it's just a short walk from the train and center of Salzburg.
