Hôtel Home Arcachon

Nice clean hotel, not too far from the beaches, on a side street, more b &b than hotel. Our room was OK, the bathroom in our room was very nice. The breakfast was good, only one of each item though, one coffee, one orange juice, one croissant etc. |My main gripe is that the owner wasn't very friendly , not welcoming at all. I would not return because of this. Ps there are building works currently directly next door.

We loved our two nights in Home Hotel. It's beautiful, welcoming and personal, with lots of attention to detail. We loved our delicious breakfasts, complete with delicious home-baked banana bread. Our bedroom was so stylish, the bed so comfortable and I loved reading my book in the sun on our little balcony. Stephane and Marie took the time to recommend a restaurant for us to meet our friends,very helpful. I would love to return sometime.

Great location in Arcachon - 10 min bike (or less) to the main strip with all the shops and restaurants, and had free street parking which is great. The host (Stephane) is lovely, and the place is very cute and cozy (love the tiled bathrooms and open air outside courtyard!). It’s a great value for a nice place that allows you to explore the area. The room we had (2) wasn’t huge (we had a lot of luggage) but it was plenty spacious if you were there for 4-7 days. Our room opened onto a balcony on the Main Street - no windows in this room so you had to keep a door open at night to get a breeze (not a big deal but if you prefer windows then look at the other rooms). Rooms 1-3 faced the front, while the rest were interior courtyard facing (blocked from street).

A really expensive experience! The owner of the hotel was very unflexible and said he lock the door at 20:00, so if we would be there after 20:00, we will not get our room. When we asked for a free cancelation he refused and like an enchanted disk stated that the check in is at 20:00 the latest and thats it. Since it was impossible for us to make it at this strict dead line we lost the room and did not get anything back of the 230 euros that we had paid, and since it is in the middle of the high season we could not find another hotel in the area and had to sleep in the car. We kindly asked the owner to wait 45 minutes to make a solution for us, but he refused. We are surprised that a hotel of this price does not offer more flexibility and customer service. If you dont want to work/be available after 20:00 or have someone helping you after this time, you should not run a hotel. However the worst part is that he refused to refund us. We feel robbed. We got stuck in traffic and lost a 230 euros hotel room. The owner does not care anything about it because it is the season and he thinks he can treat people with no empathy because the rooms are selling out any way. Our advice is to not book this hotel! Especially not if you are driving or coming by plane because then you risk to get locked out if you get stuck in traffic or your plane is delayed. A hotel at this price should have solutions for situations like this. Reply to the extremely gentle director of the hotel.... 1 st of all I have not ask for any cancellation of the booking but just to wait the time to drive around the bay of Arcachon to reach the hotel ( that is located in the other side of the bay) . 2 nd I have contact you several times to explain the issue we were landed in the other side thinking it would be possible to drive close to the hotel by the ferry. 3 rd I have never ask you to do anything else rather than tell me where I should have come to pick up the key or to do the check in ( already done online) or if you needed an extra payment for a late check in ( 45 min after the latest time that it is 20:00 in the summer and not midnight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) 4 th Your reply was instantly rude and unrespectful towards me and my girlfriend who was trying to explain you we did not have any other options where to sleep cause it was mid of August and that for sure you are not Airfrance or Lufthansa and probably you should think to fly down to heart rather than writing nonsense like : C'est pas quand on a fait dans son slip que l'on va aux toilettes ! 5 th last but not least after almost 2 years I still feel robbed of 2.300 SEK and you should still feel ashamed for all that!

Brilliant hotel close to the beach! 10min walk from the city center. The rooms were very clean and had everything that was needed. The breakfast was superb! We will be back!

Such a beautiful hotel, and management was super friendly and helpful. Very comfortable and clean. Location is awesome, close to everything without being in the middle of noisy centers. Will stay there again most definitely.

Charming hotel with lovely local staff. Situated couple meters away from the seaside. Quiet room, Bed was very comfy, fan was enough to cool us down. Staff accomodated special requests for the breakfast. We will return to this hotel.
