"I like to get in at least one sunset-yoga class, and Horizon, which is on a hill and has beautiful views of the ocean, is my favorite place."

This is by far the best yoga deck in Santa Teresa. It's beautiful and well-run—the mats are properlycleaned, the view is impeccable, the desk staff are friendly—but what really sets this deck apart are the teachers. They are super knowledgable and give great cues; each has their own style. Highly recommend coming here.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at “Horizon- Yoga Hotel” a charming rustic place that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the owners had poured their hearts into creating a truly special experience. The attention to detail was remarkable—our room was thoughtfully decorated with locally sourced materials, and the cozy atmosphere made it feel like home. The real standout, however, was the breathtaking ocean view from the private balcony, where we enjoyed winding down with a glass of wine at sunset. Gali and Yoav were incredibly warm and attentive. They genuinely cared about our experience, offering personalized recommendations for local attractions and ensuring that every comfort was met. From the delicious homemade breakfast to the perfectly curated decor, it was clear that no detail was overlooked. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning views, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and authentically rustic, this hotel is an absolute gem. We are already planning our return!

My husband and I were looking to escape the cold winter and enjoy a tropical vacation, and Horizon Santa Teresa Hotel & Yoga Center was the perfect choice! We were recommended this beautiful location by friends, and we can’t thank them enough for introducing us to such a magical place. Whether you're a foodie, yogi, surfer, ATV adventurer, or simply a lover of sunsets on the beach and the jungle, Horizon has something for everyone. It truly offers the best of both adventure and relaxation. A special thank you to Yoav and Gali for creating such an incredible oasis and curating this unforgettable experience with so much love. We will absolutely be back!

We would like to highly recommend the HORIZON HOTEL & YOGA in Santa Teresa Costa Rica.|This is our third time there and definitely not the last. We took the family villa which was just perfect with an amazing pool next to it. The beds are extremely comfortable, the linens are amazing, the kitchen is well equipped, from the balcony we saw monkeys walking on the branches of the mango tree.||The hotel has an organic restaurant which is undoubtedly the best in the village! Every dish served there is a success - salads that are cut from organic vegetables, excellent pizza, excellent toasts, shakshuka and more. The shakes - the best we've tasted.||In addition - the hotel has a yoga center, with an ocean view, and a varied schedule of classes and excellent teachers (we tried them all). We combined trips on the beach with daily yoga practice - we felt wonderful!||We treated ourselves and ordered a massage - don't miss it! One of the best massages ever - in a lovely space.| |The hotel staff - always attentive and pleasant, we received everything we asked for quickly and with a smile.||We recommend arriving for two weeks. no less. Pamper yourself with yoga, healthy food and the most beautiful beaches right below the hotel.

Great spot w private pool easy to walk to beach and great restaurants close |Room was nice actually had two bedrooms which were small but only needed one |There are mosquitos on the deck so have bug spray trust me… place to park your rental car |If you have any issues w steps all of this area is steep so be aware|Great yoga as well|Live Santa Teresa they need a paved main road but that’s the only negative except if you have a rental car there isn’t a gas station for 15 miles fyi

I am giving this review one year after I was in this Yoga space. All the people in Costa Rica are so nice, but the lady at this place was incredibly rude. It was my friends birthday and we were trying to book a yoga class. We were treated so badly that it almost ruined my friend's bday. I tried to book a yoga class for 3 people, and I thought I paid 30euros. When I went in for the class, they told me I only booked for one so no1 else could go in. It's okay that mistakes happen, however the lady at the counter was so rude that it really impacted us. !!!!DO NOT GO HERE!!!! There are also other reviews saying the staff is not nice, maybe you should do a retrospective on your values.

Went to Horizon for a sound bath and yin yoga class. The yoga space itself is amazing, however the teacher was terrible. She seemed like she didn’t want to be there and didn’t offer much guidance during the class. I have been to many sound baths and let me tell you, just because you figure out how to play a sound bowl, does not mean you should. The sounds she created were monotone, dissonant, and sounded like a jet taking off…not relaxing, no musical finesse. The vibes were not there, would not recommend.

My 8th visit to CR and 3rd to Santa Teresa. ||I came to Horizon to restore and reset after a long tough time recovering from a difficult family loss. ||My main objective has been to kickstart my wellness routine after a year and a half of being out of synch - exercise, healthy living, kind people with good vibes, fresh food prepared with love, surf, hike and priceless sunrises and sunsets. So far, I have found all of that at Horizon. ||Horizon is a quaint and charming mountain retreat, located a short walk up the mountain side of town. ||A trail interconnects all of the various element of this boutique resort. ||Gali and Yuav offer the perfect balance of being available while also maintaining privacy. There has not been a request that I have made that hasn’t been met in a very timely manner. ||Yuav is the best kept secret in ST - a true Renaissance man. I’m 100% straight, by the way. ||Yuav is a 5 star chef, while also maintaining a demanding resort management role. Did I mention that he is also a top notch yoga instructor? He also maintains many hobbies that most would find very interesting. I would be very surprised if there was a request made by a guest that he could not, or would not, satisfy.||Gali is hands on and doesn’t miss much. She truly loves and breaths this hospitality experience. ||A few points of note:||- If you are looking for a chain hotel, Horizon is not for you. You will not find staff that went to a brand name HRIM college or University. Frankly, you will find better here. ||- If you don’t like the charm of an old bohemian town that has evolved quite a bit since my first visit 30 years ago, this is not for you. ||- Costa Rica has evolved and is now a town that is represented globally. Not everyone here is a Tica. There are many cultures represented in ST, and the language and cultural shifts can create a disappointment if you’re not able to communicate properly. This is okay, in my opinion, by the way, as the food options here are more diverse and authentic than any big city in America, while still maintaining that beach side bohemian charm. Just be sure to choose your body language and words wisely as there can be a risk of gross misinterpretation and/or losing a friendship over same. ||- This is Costa Rica. The first thing I do when I arrive is obtain an ATV for my entire stay. Taxis are available and the drivers are super friendly and informative. But if you are a slave to taxis and walking everywhere, you may miss out on some of the charm and experiences. Full disclosure - I grew up on horses, dirt bikes and ATVs. ||I have been all over the world and have stayed at top 20 rated resorts in many countries, but Horizon is right there with the best of them. The website doesn’t nearly do justice to this place.
