Hospes Amerigo (Alicante, Spain) 7 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Another outpost of the Hospes group, a series of five-star boutique hotels across Spain, the Amerigo chooses Alicante as its home. Once a Dominican convent, later an office building and an apartment block, today it’s a bit closer to its original incarnation, offering the sort of creamy-white ascetic-luxe experience that is the Hospes group’s specialty." - Tablet Hotels

Hospes Amérigo – A Perfect Blend of Elegance and Comfort What a cool yet elegant 5-star hotel in a fabulous location! The facilities are first-class, including excellent restaurants and a stylish rooftop bar. We stayed in a lovely, spacious room with a well-stocked minibar and a quality Nespresso coffee machine. The large bathroom was spotless, with great water pressure and premium amenities. Breakfast was outstanding, offering both freshly prepared dishes from the kitchen and a wonderful buffet selection. The hotel is just 300 meters from a beautiful beach and only 15 minutes from the airport — incredibly convenient. Every member of staff was attentive and welcoming, making our stay truly special. I can’t wait to go back — both for the hotel’s exceptional hospitality and everything that Alicante has to offer.

It’s our last day at Hospes Amerigo and we have had a lovely stay. It’s a great hotel close to the sea front/marina and handy for the old town. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, particularly on the front desk where we got a ton of info from the guy on reception on must see things to do locally. We had booked room only but were asked if we’d like to add on breakfast at a discounted rate which we did. Best thing we did as the breakfast was very good and set us up for the day. The hotel itself is very modern inside although in an older building and definitely one I’d come back to. Highly recommended!

This was our second stay at Hotel Hospes Amerigo and once again, it did not disappoint. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the hotel is in a fantastic location - close to the beach, museums, and plenty of great restaurants. The family rooms are spacious and offer plenty of space for everyone, which made our stay very comfortable. The swimming pool has lovely views and a peaceful atmosphere, though a few of the jets were out of service this time, which our kids missed. Room service was excellent and there was just the right amount of attention throughout our stay. Breakfast has a fairly limited selection, but the service is highly attentive and there is a nice level of personalisation, which made it a great start to the day. We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again.

A chic boutique hotel in the centre of town with the marina only 5 min walk away. Comfortable room with all amenities. The rooftop bar/terrace with pool was a real advantage and unique for the location. The restaurant and Tapas Bar have outside seating in a covered arcade. The Flamenco show on Thursday night was the best I have seen and was the perfect backdrop to an enjoyable and good quality dinner.

Lovely hotel in the best location, close to all shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, marina and tourist attractions! Easy parking and our dog was welcome.|After seeing the room booked (it has stairs to navigate), we upgraded to a premium room, additional costs but we decided it was worth it!|The room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable . Staff were friendly.|Lovely rooftop bar area with great nighttime views of the castle. |Although a tad expensive it made our 4 nights in Alicante memorable!

A wonderful stay (even though I was ill so may have to go again). From check in to hand over of beach bag with water etc to recommendations for dinner it was a fantastic experience. The room was lovely, bed great & a superb deep bath (for my poor ailing body!) whilst the husband visited the spa, which was also great apparently. Have wanted to visit for a long time so a well chosen anniversary weekend.

Google
Really nice hotel well situated in the old town only a stones throw from the promenade.Friendly and polite staff.Huge and comfortable beds and surrounding area not too noisy at night. My only small criticisms would be that the standard rooms are a tad on the small side and I would have liked a bit more choice at breakfast. However the food and drink is very reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. As a bonus the TV has loads of UK channels which is not usually the case abroad. Hope to visit again and would definitely recommend. Have been to Alicante city several times. It is a great place to visit and is relatively cheap with an absolute abundance of bars, cafes and restaurants.English is widely spoken and the residents are friendly. The wine in particular is very cheap and most restaurants have a really good choice of Spanish wines which we cannot get back in the UK.

We chose this hotel for its 5-star rating, the excellent reviews and its location and were not disappointed. Our premium room was exactly as pictured and house keeping was to a high standard. We were particularly impressed by the staff who were both friendly and efficient and at breakfast soon remembered our preferences. They were also very helpful when we had problems with our coffee maker. The only downside was that the pool area is very small and there are insufficient sunbeds. Not helped by guests who reserve them and then don't appear for hours.

Yelp
One of only a handful of 5 star hotels in Alicante, this exemplary property is right in the action. Surrounded by a plethora of outstanding bars, nightclubs and eateries festering local favorites, tapas, middle eastern, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Thai food. The marina across the main road makes for a lovely stroll in the evenings. Even the happening Marmarela and Ocean Race Museum is just 10 minute walk away. Smartly designed rooms with old world architectural accents throughout juxtaposed with modern practicality and efficiency. Exemplary hospitality staff who go out of their way to care well for you. Stunning view of the "face of the moor" castle from the rooftop pool and bar.

Yelp
This was a great choice to stay a night or two in Alicante. It was very charming and cute - our room had lovely balconies that you could step out of and see the street, and buildings across! The location was quite nice, walking distance pretty much everywhere, including restaurants, and even the beach in Alicante. It had a nice rooftop pool (pictures really don't do it justice) with a VIEW of the cathedral and mountain!!! Not only that, but it had a retractable ceiling, which was pretty awesome. There were lots of lounge chairs, both inside the pool area, and outside on the regular balcony, with a bar too. Although the room was very charming, there were some details I wasn't too fond of. The bed for instance was too soft, and made my back hurt. The air conditioning didn't work, but we were fine with open windows (good breeze at night). The mini fridge was full of items, so we weren't able to place our own personal items in the fridge. Also, the sinks & shower all had trouble draining. Lastly, just FYI, on Sundays Alicante has slow streets, where cars cannot drive through. The hotel is located on one of these slow streets - I wish they gave us a heads up ahead of time, as we kept driving and driving around. I wish they told us that we could have asked the police officers to move the railings for us to get to our hotel. Overall though, I did enjoy the hotel, and it was perfect for our 1 night stay in Alicante!

Yelp
By far the best hotel in Alicante. Yes, it's a little pricey but the spa, roof top pool and restaurant make up for it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and Jonas really made our time worthwhile. The rooms are luxurious and are very well kept. We had a marina view which was lovely. Our only issue was the air freshener in the lobby. It wasn't pleasant and very over powering.

Yelp
Fantastic facility with a phenomenal staff that close to beaches, dinning, the marina, the casino, and the old fort. The views aren't great, and this is true for pretty much every place that isn't beach front. With that said, a great spot to lay your head and expect lore Alicante.

Yelp
Alicante's #1 on tripadvisor.com would probably be the best reason to book this place. The hotel is a beautiful building, well located in the midst of all the action, couple of minutes away from all the best restaurants and a short walk away from the beach. There are fabulous restaurants in the area, and the little cava bar in the hotel is pretty damn good too. The rooms are super stylish. Of course, this is no Hyatt or Mandarin Oriental, although it is supposed to be a five star hotel. An electric kettle is not available in the room, although it is provided on request. There is a gym and a pool on one of the floors, which has an attached terrace/balcony overlooking the beach. However, the gym is not the best thing about the hotel. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room, and although somewhat basic, it was fresh and felt quite fulfilling. Overall, highly recommended!

Yelp
Older building but huge rooms. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Perfect location to explore the city, walk the beach, and see the historical sights. Would definitely stay here again. Roof top bar is also nice even though there are not any real views.

Yelp
I stayed at Amerigo in May 2015 with my husband and parents. The staff is extremely well trained in 5 star service. We were provided excellent service at every turn. The front desk staff called and arranged a private tennis lesson for my husband. They made several great restaurant recommendations. Rooms are very large and well appointed. The building is beautiful old stone with modern finishes. Close to the beach. Excellent value for the money.

Yelp
Love this hotel. For a 5 star hotel the rooms are incredibly well priced. We stayed a couple nights in a junior suite and a couple of nights in a standard room. Both were excellent. The hotel is situated in an ideal spot, right between the beach and the old town. Best of all is the staff, who are really helpful and friendly. We got a lovely welcome by name every time we walked into the reception which made us really feel pleased to be staying there. We didn't try the michelin starred restaurant this time but there is also a more casual restaurant where the tapas are imaginative and delicious. Already planning my next trip.
