Hospes Amerigo (Alicante, Spain) 7 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Another outpost of the Hospes group, a series of five-star boutique hotels across Spain, the Amerigo chooses Alicante as its home. Once a Dominican convent, later an office building and an apartment block, today it’s a bit closer to its original incarnation, offering the sort of creamy-white ascetic-luxe experience that is the Hospes group’s specialty." - Tablet Hotels

Really nice hotel well situated in the old town only a stones throw from the promenade.Friendly and polite staff.Huge and comfortable beds and surrounding area not too noisy at night. My only small criticisms would be that the standard rooms are a tad on the small side and I would have liked a bit more choice at breakfast. However the food and drink is very reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. As a bonus the TV has loads of UK channels which is not usually the case abroad. Hope to visit again and would definitely recommend. Have been to Alicante city several times. It is a great place to visit and is relatively cheap with an absolute abundance of bars, cafes and restaurants.English is widely spoken and the residents are friendly. The wine in particular is very cheap and most restaurants have a really good choice of Spanish wines which we cannot get back in the UK.

Very comfortable hotel in a great location. The room was modern and well maintained. The hotel is not far from the esplanade, beach and shops. You will have no trouble finding somewhere to eat, there are thousands of different cafe’s within easy walking distance. I would recommend you try the food served by the hotel, especially in the quiet and shaded ally between the hotel. It does cost slightly more than outside but the comfort and quality of the food is worth it. The breakfasts were excellent with something for everyone. The staff are friendly and helpful, |One minor point though, our air conditioning would not work correctly. We did report it and maintenance did come but they were unable to rectify the issue.

This is one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had abroad. The staff were very welcoming storing our luggage while our room was being prepared which allowed us to go and explore the old town straight away. The room was very spacious ,comfortable and spotless. It’s not often that the hotel is in the same condition as the photographs but this one is. The breakfast was leisurely and very good and the staff are all very friendly and efficient. The rooftop area was great for a drink especially at night with views of the castle. I would highly recommend Alicante for a long weekend and this hotel in particular

As I was out for an evening walk I ate here. Staff were great. I ask for local or traditional food and enjoyed fried anchovies, croquettes and a milhoja ( caramelised nougat and mille- feuillete). Their choices of a nice glass of cava and white wine were spot on, even the coffee tasted very good. ||Staff were great, warm smiles and sincere.

We chose this hotel over another, which was located on the waterfront, but the reviews on here sounded better. We were delighted with our choice, a cava welcome drink, a stunning room, the rooftop area is beautiful, gym, sauna, beachbags but the best element was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff.||||Lets get the negatives out of the way you might read on other reviews, yes around the corner is a sex shop and a cannabis shop, and some homeless people. However, there were homeless people throughout Alicante and in most big cities. The mentioned shops themselves you barely noticed. Our room was tranquil on an evening. The location is amazing though, beach 5 mins walk, old town is literally on the doorstep, and the castle is a short walk away.||||So many people we spoke to revisit this hotel and can see why, we'd highly recommend it.

Just back from a lovely stay at Hotel Hospes Amerigo. |The hotel and decor are beautiful, especially the reception area. |The staff were all friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Ivan in particular, was extremely helpful. |The rooms were immaculate and cleaned daily, |The food at the restaurant was delicious. |The hotel is in a perfect location, surrounded by shops and restaurants and a short walk to the beach. |Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Google
Hotel is in a great location. I wouldn’t class it 5 star as our bathroom was dated and mould round the bath and grout missing on floor tiles. Also dirt round the shower screen. Which was smeary and not wiped property . |Mini bar was extortionate €5 for tiny bag of crisps !!!! Coffee was literally 2 pods per day you’d expect more for. 5* hotel. Beds were comfortable.|lots of choice at breakfast. Roof top pool always crowded (sept) and not enough for size of hotel and not enough umbrellas for|shade if required. Sunbeds lacked cushions and gave us back ache.Staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely hotel but not 5* standard.

Google
Wonderful hotel right in the heart of Alicante. We were met with a glass of cava, staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked for a massage for the next morning which was also wonderful. The rooftop bar is a must visit, hot in the day, but during sunset and the evening is wonderful. Rooms really spacious and comfortable. Id definitely recommend

Yelp
One of only a handful of 5 star hotels in Alicante, this exemplary property is right in the action. Surrounded by a plethora of outstanding bars, nightclubs and eateries festering local favorites, tapas, middle eastern, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Thai food. The marina across the main road makes for a lovely stroll in the evenings. Even the happening Marmarela and Ocean Race Museum is just 10 minute walk away. Smartly designed rooms with old world architectural accents throughout juxtaposed with modern practicality and efficiency. Exemplary hospitality staff who go out of their way to care well for you. Stunning view of the "face of the moor" castle from the rooftop pool and bar.

Yelp
This was a great choice to stay a night or two in Alicante. It was very charming and cute - our room had lovely balconies that you could step out of and see the street, and buildings across! The location was quite nice, walking distance pretty much everywhere, including restaurants, and even the beach in Alicante. It had a nice rooftop pool (pictures really don't do it justice) with a VIEW of the cathedral and mountain!!! Not only that, but it had a retractable ceiling, which was pretty awesome. There were lots of lounge chairs, both inside the pool area, and outside on the regular balcony, with a bar too. Although the room was very charming, there were some details I wasn't too fond of. The bed for instance was too soft, and made my back hurt. The air conditioning didn't work, but we were fine with open windows (good breeze at night). The mini fridge was full of items, so we weren't able to place our own personal items in the fridge. Also, the sinks & shower all had trouble draining. Lastly, just FYI, on Sundays Alicante has slow streets, where cars cannot drive through. The hotel is located on one of these slow streets - I wish they gave us a heads up ahead of time, as we kept driving and driving around. I wish they told us that we could have asked the police officers to move the railings for us to get to our hotel. Overall though, I did enjoy the hotel, and it was perfect for our 1 night stay in Alicante!

Yelp
By far the best hotel in Alicante. Yes, it's a little pricey but the spa, roof top pool and restaurant make up for it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and Jonas really made our time worthwhile. The rooms are luxurious and are very well kept. We had a marina view which was lovely. Our only issue was the air freshener in the lobby. It wasn't pleasant and very over powering.

Yelp
Fantastic facility with a phenomenal staff that close to beaches, dinning, the marina, the casino, and the old fort. The views aren't great, and this is true for pretty much every place that isn't beach front. With that said, a great spot to lay your head and expect lore Alicante.

Yelp
Alicante's #1 on tripadvisor.com would probably be the best reason to book this place. The hotel is a beautiful building, well located in the midst of all the action, couple of minutes away from all the best restaurants and a short walk away from the beach. There are fabulous restaurants in the area, and the little cava bar in the hotel is pretty damn good too. The rooms are super stylish. Of course, this is no Hyatt or Mandarin Oriental, although it is supposed to be a five star hotel. An electric kettle is not available in the room, although it is provided on request. There is a gym and a pool on one of the floors, which has an attached terrace/balcony overlooking the beach. However, the gym is not the best thing about the hotel. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room, and although somewhat basic, it was fresh and felt quite fulfilling. Overall, highly recommended!

Yelp
Older building but huge rooms. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Perfect location to explore the city, walk the beach, and see the historical sights. Would definitely stay here again. Roof top bar is also nice even though there are not any real views.

Yelp
I stayed at Amerigo in May 2015 with my husband and parents. The staff is extremely well trained in 5 star service. We were provided excellent service at every turn. The front desk staff called and arranged a private tennis lesson for my husband. They made several great restaurant recommendations. Rooms are very large and well appointed. The building is beautiful old stone with modern finishes. Close to the beach. Excellent value for the money.

Yelp
Love this hotel. For a 5 star hotel the rooms are incredibly well priced. We stayed a couple nights in a junior suite and a couple of nights in a standard room. Both were excellent. The hotel is situated in an ideal spot, right between the beach and the old town. Best of all is the staff, who are really helpful and friendly. We got a lovely welcome by name every time we walked into the reception which made us really feel pleased to be staying there. We didn't try the michelin starred restaurant this time but there is also a more casual restaurant where the tapas are imaginative and delicious. Already planning my next trip.
