Hotel Hottingen

Even though this hotel does not look like much from the outside, they have a good thing going on the inside. The rooms are amazing. They are big and clean. The bathroom is one of the biggest bathrooms I have ever seen in a hotel. The offer a breakfast that is very good with lots of options. The location is right next to a metro stop making it easy to get around.

Amazing service! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size, the beds were really comfy, and breakfast was nice. The location is perfect—just a few minutes’ walk to the city center and right by a tram station. Highly recommend!

Loved all of our stay. Quiet neighborhood near transportation too. We loved that they had laundry service, we also enjoyed the breakfast. All of the staff were so friendly and happy. Small touches like the towel warmer, the electric kettle and windows opening for fresh air. We would love to come back!

Charming hotel with great location, just a 15 min walk from the city center. Sparkling clean and cozy room. Comfy bed and pillows. The bathroom is big and very clean as well. They also include a kettle and complimentary tea, herbal infusions, and coffee, as well as a small fridge in the room. Also, they have complimentary Swiss chocolates at the front desk, which is a lovely detail from the property and shows how welcoming and thoughtful they are with their guests. On a special note, I would like to thank Barbara, a staff member from the reception, for her kindness and her professionalism. I highly recommend Hottingen Hotel and will definitely stay here if I ever come back to Zürich.

Staff are passionate to help. Good to have luggages storage service as we arrive earlier before the check in time. Really close to Hottingerplatz. Washroom is big. Pillows are too soft. Can provide pillows with different softness. There is a spider found on one bed which scared us a little bit.

The hotel is perfectly located to close shopping and sightseeing area in the heart of Zurich. Large and very comfortable rooms with very nice bed linen and comfortable pillows ! Nice and very complet breakfast buffet. It is our favorite hotel in Zurich !

Perfectly adequate small hotel. I would consider it a “budget” choice although we paid well over two hundred per night. I recommend you watch the hotel website which had rooms available at less than HALF what we paid on a third party booking site. Unfortunately, we booked a non-refundable rate six months in advance because we had no flexibility on the date and it was peak season. The room was clean and it was nice to have a mini fridge. The bathroom was extremely small and on the 90 degree days the eco-AC couldn’t really cool the room. The breakfast was good, but by no means extravagant. The coffee was excellent, and the service was very friendly. The room cleaning was inconsistent not taking away dirty glasses, or emptying the trash. I wouldn’t stay here again for what we paid. I’d try somewhere else. At half the price I would definitely consider it.

Excellent hotel within walking distance to downtown Zurich and street restaurants in the LImmatquai area. Breakfast is available at a lower price than the hotel within 50 meters, walking to the left of the main road, just in the corner. If tired or in a rush you can use the tram #3 that stops in front of the hotel both ways, just 3 stops to the main station/downtown. Price is 2.80 Euros per person. The rooms were clean and tidy every day and good size, no a/c, but able to open window. Private bathrooms updated.|Magi was excellent responding to queries before the trip and during our stay. There is a good coffee, water and orange juice available in the lobby.|Only Euros are used in Zurich, do not bring USD or other currencies. |I recommend a visit to the University to access for free the back terrace (polyterrasse) for the best view of the city, including the student's coffee shop and bar. Use Tram #10 from the main station uphill.|Another view of the city is reachable by walking from the downtown towards the Limmat river at the St. Peter church, Alstadt (old town).

Great hotel! Basic room however was very clean and just enough. The staff were lovely. Allowed us to bring our bags early and they had a bag storage. They even had a bin of umbrellas and allowed us to borrow some in the rain. Very close to the train and town, 10 minute walk.

What a terrific hotel just slightly outside the city center. I should start by saying many hotels in city center will NOT keep your bags after checkout. This lovely little place does. Service is friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean and the room (by European standards, especially Italy) was practically palatial. Our twin beds (a bit cheaper than a queen) were comfortable, the bathroom was small but had amazing water pressure and our room even had a tiny table and chairs in a dining nook! There is a small kitchen for use by all ( clean up after yourself please) in case you feel inspired. Just a 5 minute tram ride from Zurich HB,it's a true gem
