After reading the recent reviews we went to the 'Alexis' with fear and trepidation especially with regard to the rooms, the staff, the food and the amenities. ||||If I comment on each of the issues - we had no problems with the room we were allocated, it was clean s and staff came in every day to change the towels/ empty bins.. We were on the first floor on the corner had a really good balcony - the only problem was that it was a bit noisy with the traffic. The furniture was a bit dated and the safe was expensive to use - 28 Euros for the week. The TV was not good but then we didn't go on holiday to watch TV and probably wouldn't have understood anything that was said anyway. As someone has said, there were no tea/ coffee making facilities which was a bit of a negative.||||||Staff - we had no problems - all the staff we came into contact with were really helpful - there was a problem with some who could speak very little English but there were others about who could help. Didn't experience any rudeness at all. ||||Food - all the food we had was well-cooked and there was a variety on offer at dinner, normally 4-5 alternatives of hot food plus plenty of salad. There were a variety of puddings, fresh fruit and bread. Breakfast had lots of choice and the fruit juices were available from a machine altho' a bit sweet for my liking. The cooked breakfasts were warm rather than being hot.The toaster was not good unless the speed was turned right down but then again I've use toasters at other hotels which seem to take an eternity to make a piece of toast. We found the range of drinks on offer ok but a bit limited. If we wanted to upgrade we could pay and there was a sign on the door of the bar saying that after 10 p.m. then you had to pay for drinks. There were snacks available in the morning and afternoon but these tended to be leftovers so never had any. We left at 7.30 -restaurant opened at 8.00 but we had access to the dining room where hot drinks and cakes were available.||||Amenities - all the public rooms were clean and tidy. Lift wasn't working when we arrived but was ok the following day. Our room was above the swimming pool and it seemed to be clean. The jacuzzis were old but adequate and some of the beds were a bit dated. If you wanted wi-fi you had to pay extra but you have to do this in lots of places.||||Location - the hotel is in a good location - a short walk to the seafront and local shops. There is a more direct walk to the bus station where you can get buses to other towns and Barcelona.||||||in it's defence to other things that have been said - there is a derelict hotel next to the 'Alexis' but that's out of the control of the management. The hotel is only open for a couple of months - June to September - and seems to be a cheap alternative. Talking to a local - HTop have only recently bought the hotel so some of the issues are beyond their control.||||We enjoyed ourselves but there were other people staying at the hotel who did have some issues - we can't speak for them, only comment our experience. Maybe we were just lucky.

I’m writing this from a different restaurant where I’m finally able to eat something edible, I arrived here on Friday at 5am after a 4 hour delay with Ryanair. I was told my transfer from the airport was 40 minutes, 2 and a half hours later we arrived at the hotel to be greeted by a rude member of staff who told us we had to wait till 8am for any information about the hotel and to receive our all inclusive. We get to our room it was DISGUSTING!! It was clearly not cleaned by the cleaners prior to our arrival, the floor was dirty with rubbish on the floor, there was mould on the wardrobe and the walls, the curtain rail was held on by a plastic bag and I didn’t receive enough towels for my party and furniture within the room was broken, there was stones in the bottom of the toilet, the beds were covered in someone else’s hair & the bath was also left dirty..fast forward to day one Saturday the 16th of September.Breakfast was appalling no variety what so ever, the bread was stale and the juice tasted like toothpaste, the eggs were burnt the beans were burnt & the “sausages” has been sat there so long they had a hard skin on them!! The swimming pools were dirty, there was actually excrement at the bottom of the swimming pool along with dirty and grime along the sides of the pool, upstairs on the roof terrace one of the jacuzzis mesh around the edge was broken, the water was dirty and the pools were genuinely unclean. Lunch time offered dry food that had been sat there so a skin had formed on the top and inedible. The staff in the restaurant stood around and didn’t do anything to help guests. At dinner time we were stood at the edge of the restaurant waiting for a table, again no staff offered to help us it actually took another guest to help us and offer us their table so we could sit down, only to find raw chicken, stale bread which hadn’t been put out fresh since Saturday and and bones in the fish. When we asked at reception about a complaints procedure we were very aggressively handed a piece of paper and shouted at, and the followed after demanding we took the plate which had raw food on back to the restaurant! The staff were very rude, unhelpful and had no awareness of good customer service. I am very angry and disappointed with hotel and the service I have/have not received. More formal complaints to Expedia and trading standards have been made.please do not go here!! For your own safety do not visit this hotel.

After reading all the bad reviews I was extremely worried about going. |I wouldn’t recommend it for families Although the ones there seemed to be having fun.|Yes it’s very outdated and not the greatest establishment of hotels BUT!! For what we paid it did the job. |We was a party of Nine and had 3 rooms on different floors. Everyone seemed happy with what they had. The rooms where clean and beds maid and fresh towels. For a girls holiday and somewhere to sleep it did the job.|All the staff where lovely and helpful. We checked in late but all went smooth and the gentleman on the desk was friendly. |The bar staff where fab and always happy. We had no issues with any of the staff there including restaurant. |The breakfast was okey. Not a bad choice. Yes the toaster was rubbish but after putting my bread in 3 times it was lovely and didn’t take much time at all. |Snacks were okey. Chips, burger, pizza, fruit and bread.|I wasn’t personally fussed on the evening meals but I’m a very fussy eater, it was cheap to eat out too so I didn’t mind. You won’t starve if you stay here. |The town was 20 min walk or a 5 min taxi. Taxi wasn’t expensive and we could always find one close by.|The town was beautiful and lots of choice for food or drinks. We had amazing cocktails on the beach and found a gold mine of a restaurant that did amazing food and went out of their way for us. We had a lovely weekend with lots of laughing, dancing, food n beer. If your looking for a high end hotel I wouldn’t recommend this one BUT If your on a girls or lad trip and just want a bed and some lovely sunbathing time then I’d use this hotel again.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This “hotel”bis not worth a star!! my friends and I stayed here for a week, my friend had her purse stolen from the hotel room on the second day which put the holiday on a damper. Went to speak to the staff and they were the most rude and unhelpful people ever. Other guests had their purse/wallets stolen too. Food is just about edible, facilities are old and outdated. One of the other guests was also staring at us getting changed in our room was outside our door which was disgusting behaviour. The cleaners REFUSED to clean our rooms after the purse incident and actually shouted at us about it. Overall hideous, Do not waste your money and have a ruined holiday! I don’t know how this place is running with how truly awful it is.

After a long delay on our flight with ‘Ryan air’ and staff on the plane who think is ok to sit on their phone most of the flight, we finally arrived at our hotel at 5am on Saturday the 14th September to not be greeted by staff and to not be able to get any information about our all inclusive package. With our key in hand we climb aboard the lift to go to our room very tired but spirits high. We entered our room to find dirt on the floor, hair on our bedding and in the bath, a plastic bag holding the shower curtain up, stones in the toilet, dirty sink, cracks in the glass of the balcony screens, a view of a derelict building (where there were people squatting), chipped paint just about everywhere, rust on the curtain rail, cracks in the walls, dirty mouldy wardrobe and dirty air vents, not enough towels for our party. A few hours later we awoke and only find more things wrong with our room (it can’t of been cleaned before we arrived). We then went back to reception to ask about our all inclusive package to be told ‘after breakfast’ as he pointed to the dinning room. The food was only just warm with no choice at all really, the juice was like drinking mouth wash. After breakfast and finally receiving our all inclusive things (2 cards each and times of meals). We then made our way to the pool to find dirty showers, broken sun beds, broken mesh around the jacuzzi and faeces (POO) in the pool. The food for lunch and dinner was no better than breakfast with it being either warm or cold, no choice, skin on most things, burnt, tasteless, stale (like it had been there for days if not weeks). We disregarded all these things and decided to enjoy our girls weekend. Later the Saturday night (11pm) we returned to the hotel after looking around the shops, we go to the bar to get a drink to be told we had to pay as all inclusive is only til 11pm( we where not informed of this). On the Sunday nothing had changed all was still the same but we continue with our day. Being 4 very Hungary people we went to dinner, to again find the food to be the same state as all our other meals, except only thing the food hand not been cooked (RAW CHICKEN on on all plates). Being very up set we took the plate to show the staff to be greeted by a VERY RUDE member of staff who shoved a piece of paper at us and shout to us to take the plate back. Which we did and we had to then tell another member staff about the RAW CHICKEN to get it removed from the dinning room this is when it was removed. The member of staff of whom we had first complained to then continued to shout at us and be VERY RUDE. We had to leave the hotel to go and get some dinner in a restaurant in the town, when we retired to the hotel we returned the complaints form to the same person we had spoke to about the hotel and food, he was no more polite than before and would not tell us when there would be a member of management would contact us. On Monday morning we where up early as we where leaving we went to the bar to get a drink before we left to be told we had to get it at breakfast (which was not open) as the bar did not open until 10am. We then went to the reception to check out I placed the cards and key on the counter and said ‘ please may we check out’ the man at the reception desk said ‘that’s all’ and looked away as he took the things off the counter.

Don’t really know where to start. The hotel is not worthy of 3 star rating, possibly 1 and that’s being generous. It hasn’t been updated for decades and is definitely the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Most of the staff are pleasant there’s a couple who are rude. Food is terrible, the pastries & bread selection are probably the best thing about it. Evening meals are disgusting, nothing goes together and looks and tastes awful. The all inclusive system is ridiculous they make you keep the same glass all day, hardly hygienic. Three people had their rooms ransacked and money/items stolen and were told to claim on their insurance! Could go on and on but i won’t, just avoid this place altogether. Currently sitting outside the bar watching the local rat running up and down the street....

The hotel was dated and definitely not a 3 star. The reception and restaurant staff were rude. The pools were filthy with pigeons drinking from them, amongst other things. The food was basic and the same every day. All inclusive does not mean a lot there. Some guests get more perks than others. The windows were dirty and curtains shabby. The TV in our room was very old and the remote control was lost and our view from the window was like looking at a war torn country. Our toilet was not fixed to the wall and the towel rails were fixed at an angle. We could clearly hear the guests in the next room, using their toilet and chatting about personal subjects. The bedroom furniture was indescribable and we were unable to use the balcony because of the view and the glass screen separating us from the next room was cracked and dangerous. I could go on and on! I would like to know how they were awarded a 3 star status because the other 3 star hotels in the area were certainly not of this ilk! We were only staying for 4 days, and I would have been devastated if I had paid to stay longer, and everyone we spoke with shared our views
