We enjoyed a truly lovely stay, feeling chilled from the start at this welcoming hotel close to Tarifa town. Our comfortable room (number 10) opened onto a spacious shared terrace, where steamer sunbeds offered the perfect spot for morning coffee or lounging in the sun. The friendly staff made us feel at home and were extremely welcoming, we had a very late flight on our checkout day and whilst the property was full so we could not have a late checkout we were able to use the facilities all day.||The hotel is excellent for both relaxation and activity. The property boasts two pools, including an adults-only option (for those over 15). This is were we spent most of our time being beautifully lazy. The hotel is beautifully quiet and serene. There’s also a great gym and regular yoga classes, ideal for anyone wanting a bit of wellness on holiday, I had a fantastic lymphatic drainage massage during our stay and they also offer some facial treatments. The restaurant offers a good choice of food including a lovely open fire grill outside. Breakfast matched expectations for a small hotel—fresh and simple. ||Its location is ideal for exploring, just a short drive from the centre of Tarifa, easy to do a day trip to Tangiers, drive up to Cadiz, Jerez or even Marbella. Definitely recommend having a car to make the most of the area—some of the best sights and beaches are easy to reach this way, watching all the kites out over the sea is incredible. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended and we definitely return, quick flight into Gibraltar, walk across the border into Spain pick up a car and at the hotel less than hour later. The hotel offers some fantastic packages and the price was extremely reasonable and offered fabulous value for money.||The hotel is extremely clean, the bedroom was impeccable, high quality of bedding, towels and absolutely amazing memory foam pillows.

I believe that the hotel recently received 4 star s, up from 2 stars, but fail to see the 4 star level. Location incredible, beautiful building, gardens and views, and that’s all the positives. Service was really poor, rooms very average, and the worst amenities I have seen. Coffee granule sachets, but only decaf, with long expired milk. In the chiringuito, there is no table service, you have to order at the bar. No problem. As long as there is someone at the bar. There wasn’t. Dirty glasses. Breakfast was basic, again no table service. I wouldn’t mind all this if it was still a 2 star with reflected price, but at nearly 200€ a night in low season (end of October), I would expect more

I asked if I could access the Chiringuito bar with my little dog on a leash, and Reception said yes. ONCE my food arrived, I was told to leave as soon as I finished my food because they do not allow dogs in the premises. I ordered a bellota ham plate which came warm and sweating grease on a mi rosa e heater plate. I have it to my dog, it was not good. Even the milk tea was not well made: they have me a cup of milk with the trabar I was supposed to infunde directly inside the milk, nonsense. When I told the bar manager about my ham, they did nothing and just said they do it that way. Employees don’t care about quality.

Great place to spend a week or more on the Sth coast. The hotel kitchen & bar turns out fabulous Spanish inspired food if you're dining in the hotel. A car is a must to sample the local kite surfing beaches or the huge choice of restaurants in the Tarifa old town. The Bali of Europe with better food indeed..

⭐ 2/5 I’ve stayed at Hurricane Hotel many times over the years, and I used to love it – especially back when it was a simple two-star hotel. Back then, the value was excellent and the atmosphere felt warm and genuine. Sadly, since the upgrade to four stars, the experience has gone downhill. Expectations rise with the rating, but the hotel no longer meets even my modest expectations. Service feels understaffed and inconsistent, and it’s not enough to just raise the prices and update a few things in the rooms. A special mention to Susanna at reception – she’s amazing and always goes the extra mile for guests. But one person alone can’t carry the weight of a four-star hotel. Management should really visit a proper four-star hotel like Parador in Ronda or Ayamonte to see how it’s done – even simple things like having two staff members at reception at all times make a huge difference. Do NOT book the hamam. It’s poorly maintained and absolutely not worth the money – more like a damp room with some steam. This place still has great potential because of its location and history. I’m sharing this review with genuine hope that the owners take it to heart and bring back the quality and soul that once made Hurricane so special.

A 4 star hotel and there beach bar is self service, like any other cafeteria or McDonald's - ordered a club sandwich, but was more a average dry chicken sandwich...

We visit every spring, for us it is a great lace to escape to for a few days of relaxing. We enjoy laying around the adults only pool, there are two pools and walks along the beach. Breakfast and food is good and the staff are super friendly.

The hotel and surroundings are beautiful. Gardens, 2 pools, gym, ocean/beach. Food is amazing and service is outstanding. Staff are so friendly and professional. Fireplace was lite every night in a very cozy lounge. We didn’t want to leave and would definitely come back if we are ever near this area again. Great spot to stay for a day trip to Tangier, Morocco. This is a hidden gem.

Yelp
Hurricane is a small hotel located just outside Tarifa. The hotel is like a little oasis in the dessert and only the luscious green garden and swimming pool are in between you and the beach. Rooms are clean but plain and simple; it's the outdoors that make you wanna be here. Internet is free but only available in the cosy lobby/bar area. Excellent dining and pool area as well as a small beach club like place for drinks and lunch. Good breakfast, very friendly staff. Only downside (or tip/hint/warning) is that the walls are very thin. I won't go into detail about my French neighbors; let's say they must have been struck by the romantic setting ;)
