Hotel I Cinque Balconi, a Design Boutique Hotel Santa Marina Salina, Italy

"Just 164 feet from Punta Barone beach, I Cinque Balconi is 656 feet from the port on the island of Salina. It features air-conditioned rooms and a large garden with lemon trees. Boutique Hotel I Cinque Balconi is centrally located in Santa Marina Salina, with beautiful views across the Mediterranean Sea and the other Eolian Islands. The surrounding area is full of shops and restaurants and is pedestrian only during summer. Rooms here have a retro style with wood-beamed ceilings and decorative tiled floors. Some even have glass-covered archaeological ruins. They all feature a flat-screen TV, mini-bar and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a balcony. A sweet and savory buffet breakfast is served each morning and features homemade food. All public areas are furnished with Majolica ceramic tiles." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

This is a charming place on a most charming island. The room was clean and comfortable and featured a beautiful view of the sea. (It also faced a small street rather heavily used by loud vehicles, but this was not really a problem.) Breakfast, while fairly basic, was in a lovely little garden (one somewhat odd thing about breakfast was the inability to make changes on the fly--this had to be done the previous day). The food in the adjoining restaurant was excellent.

We had the most amazing service at this gorgeous property. The restaurant was amazing. The hospitality and the care we received from not Massimo (The Owner) and Diego ( General Manager) was immense. Attention to detail and the care was noticeable. It’s absolutely refreshing to see that how wonderfully Massimo is keeping his family legacy, creating the hub for people visiting this gorgeous island. In the property that once was his grandmother. Sharing all the old family recopies at the restaurant was cherry on the top for us! Authentic and beautiful. We will be back! 🛵🤍🙌🏻

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Cinque Balconi for 4 nights, as we were attending a wedding celebration at a nearby resort. The staff was very friendly, and the laundry service was punctual. Do not miss their beautiful garden where a delicious breakfast is served. The food, garden, birds, and a slight whiff of incense create an ambiance that is a great way to start the day. The view from our balcony to the sea was breathtaking.

A wonderful island, a great hotel and the feeling of „coming home“ although is was our first visit here. The hotel is in the middle of Santa Marina, offers a great view from one of the five balconies to the sea and is charming, elegant and tasteful. The beautiful garden on the back is peaceful and it is wonderful to have breakfast there. Everybody in the hotel was helpful and we felt completely happy. We will surely come back!

I had a wonderful time here. The rooms are simple but spacious and comfortable. What really stands out is the hospitality. The staff were warm and friendly throughout and repeatedly went out of the their way to make our stay special. The breakfast is excellent (particularly the cakes and pastries) and dinner was was good too - fresh, lots of choice, full of flavour and reasonably priced for Salina. Highly recommended.

Came here for three nights with the family. The room was clean, airy and well furnished. Breakfast was a delicious buffet with Sicilian cake, fruit, ham etc. But most of all from this trip I will remember the incredible natural kindness of Massimo. We had to leave early on the final day so he made us a picnic breakfast in a bag each. His natural care and attention to detail turn this from a good hotel to an excellent one. Really a great place.

This small hotel occupies an older property which has been maintained, decorated and furnished to the highest standard. It is situated in a quiet position on the main thoroughfare (pedestrianised at this point) about 500m from the centre of Santa Marina and the ferry landing. Breakfast, which comprised food of the highest standard, much of it home produced, was served in a delightful garden where lemon, mandarin, fig, mango and pomegranate trees grew. A deiicatessen, which doubled as a restaurant - Casa Lo Schiavo - adjoined the hotel. We were there in hot weather, when eating out of doors came naturally, but the interior of Cinque Balconi looked a cosy place to spend colder evenings too. All in all you have the recipe for a perfect place to stay, especially when you get such a warm welcome from Massimo and his staff.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Absolutely perfect. Wonderful staff. A fabulous room. Great food and hospitality. You feel like you are in the heart of Salina. Massimo was a delightful host. I loved the atmosphere and the street view from the balcony was fantastic. Cannot fault it.
