This is a family owned hotel. It is very basic with no elevator and no hot water shower. It is within walking distance to a supermarket. Mostly young people stay here and even though there's a curview, we experienced loud noise at niggt when they made their way back to their rooms. The owner was nice but also somewhat crude in his remarks. When one of the young people complained about the lack of hot water.

Positive: Staff was nice. No frills, but pleasant. Parking was right out front of the hotel. Very close. Negative: This was a 1 1/2 star hotel with a three star price. For $157, we got a skimpy mattress, two pillows, a tiny bar of soap and two worn towels. No hand towels. No bath mat.The shower was bad, and no chair. This just wasn?t a three star hotel by any means.

Positive: The look and the older man up front. He explained everything and parked us tight out the door because we had to leave by 2am. Negative: The guys across the hall making noise and partying. When we left at 2 am they were still slaming doors, blaring music and I am pretty sure they were regulars.

Stay for 2 nights. A nice little old place to stay with friends.|Don't consider it as a hotel, but more consider as a guesthouse or inn since they changed it from residence to hotel. The owner is kind and helpful, providing advice for touring the city. |The room is in carribean stye, not really sophisticated but gives you a feeling of old and traditional family. Moderate cleaning condition. |Good location that's near many good places to chill or eat. There's a 24h supermarket right next to it so you can buy whatever you want. There's also self-service laundry near but we didn't try it since it's a short stay.

Hotel is in a great location, next to a 24 hour market and walking distance from several restaurants, shops and the beach. Area felt safe. The rooms were extremely modest, and small. no frills and no onsite amenities other than a pricey restaurant that opened at night. Would have been great to have in room coffee makers or coffee available at the hotel. You'll have to go offsite daily for breakfast. AC worked great, which was a major plus. Staff was friendly.

This charming and rustic little jewel nestled in the vibrant Condado neighborhood was a great find. Within easy walking distance to many restaurants and the beach, we truly enjoyed our time here. We loved spending time on the rooftop. The grocery store is just a block away, too. The rooms are small, but our family of four managed just fine. The premises were clean and quiet, and we felt safe the entire time.

Google
Great location the staff were nice and the place was clean. My only complaint was the shower there was no water pressure at all just big drops of water coming out and when we questioned the front desk person about it he said all the rooms are the same

Very charming, and the host is super nice and helpful! It’s 133 years old! Not modern, but very well maintained! Would definitely recommend if you like to experience the history of a place with your stay. There was sound bleed between rooms and with the outside, if that’s a big deal for you. I just kept the AC running so I couldn’t hear anything.

Yelp
We had a terrible VRBO experience in Old San Juan and found Hotel Iberia. Contrary to what other reviews said, we found the hotel and our room to be very clean. There is a rooftop terrace that is filled with plants and chairs overlooking the city that is a lovely place in the morning and evening. Cristopher, the owner, is a wonderful gentleman who went out of his way to be sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We really hated to leave. If you come to Puerto Rico and just want the big fancy hotel experience, this isn't for you. If you want to know you've been to Puerto Rico, consider the Iberia!

Yelp
Great location by the beach and Supermax. The Room is not very that clean . The bed has dirt and hairs and other random spots. The ac is good . The rooftop is pretty nice 120$ a night not bad for The location if you can deal with the half cleaned room and noise street nearby.

Yelp
Super wonderful staff. Courteous and very helpful. They kept the hotel very clean. The ac was perfect and rooms very very clean. Thank you so much. I'll definitely be calling you all again.

Yelp
Hotel was dirty, room had not seemed to have been cleaned (dirty floors, smearing on the mirrors and toothpaste on the bathroom mirrors), room does not even have windows with actual window pains in them to hold the air in from window unit in the room; this also allowed insects into the room with you. A lot of insects to visit you through the night to keep you awake, not that you could sleep on these horrible mattresses. Had to ask for towels because apparently those are supplied upon request and not automatically. No elevator to help you lug your bags up 3 flights of extremely narrow stairs nor anyone on staff to handle them for you. There is a reason this hotel is cheaper than others. Bath tub was broken and a plug was left in place of the spout, the shower head barely worked. We stayed here because of overbooking at another hotel did not give us very many options on a weekend everything in town was booked. We would not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Bring your mosquito nets! This place & rooms are full of mosquitos & bugs. Had to buy Off replent just to sleep in peace. Why should you care? Mosquitoes in the Caribbean can carry diseases. There are no vaccines or cures for dengue, known as "break-bone fever," or chikungunya, which causes painful contortions. "Chikungunya has already overwhelmed hospitals and harmed economies across the Caribbean after infecting a million people in the region last year." Pretty bad deal at $145, but we were desperate due to all other hotels being booked. Do stay here, go to the Wind Chimes for the same price & better rooms.

Yelp
Worst hotel ever. Super dirty, showers are disgusting, if you are having sex be prepared becase de bed move soooo much that it's ridiculous. No ice, no coffee and cats sleeping at the lobby couches. The owner is super rude and when you book online the prices are cheaper from the price the charge, even if you have your confirmation email they will charge you more taxes.

Yelp
This was a terrible place to stay! No Wi-Fi, no water pressure, no TV, no common courtesy! There were three of us arriving in San Juan a day early for a cruise. I booked this hotel with the request that we might be able to check in early as we would be arriving at 10:30 AM. It showed that it had a restaurant and lounge. Upon arrival the front desk young man told me that we could not check in until 3 o'clock! He was not at all apologetic, he was rude! That's when I found out that there was no longer a restaurant or lounge. After sitting in the lobby for three hours, we were shown to our room. Much later I found out that they had a somewhat comfortable sitting area up on the roof. This was never mentioned to us the entire time that we sat in the lobby! I could go on...and on. I won't, because people don't want to read this much. Just know that I mentioned to the front desk later in the evening how displeased I was with the service, and accommodations. I asked if they were familiar with yelp. Hinting that I was going to post a negative review...no improvement in any way. In fact, the next morning, The rudeness escalated to the point that I was afraid that one of us was going to punch someone!

Yelp
This place was disgusting, it's almost as if you're going back in time with how bad the service and looks of the hotel. There are no elevators to my knowledge, the furniture is old, the room towels had holes in them. On my way in there was a roach. The bathtub looked like it had not been cleaned in years. The bedsheets had yellow stains everywhere. Just a bad experience over all. Never again.

Yelp
While Hotel Iberia is located in a great place with easy access to Viejo San Juan, the main street where all the tourists hang out for the day from the cruise ships, and is relatively quite and clean.....the BED(s) are UNACCEPTABLE!! Simply put, I felt as though they got their beds (for free) from an Asylum that must of closed down recently. Stains on both sides of the mattress, on the mattress protector, and hair on the sheets! I had requested to have my bed changed after the first night but the second mattress was just as BAD as the first one. Of course when Christopher Columbus (the owner of the hotel) was asked about the beds, he replied that there are no problems. Well, a picture tells a thousand words. You be the judge.
