In town for work and decided to book a hotel with plenty of activities nearby (versus near the airport). Read the reviews of Iberostar's Las Letras Gran Via and booked online for a few nights stay. Also, booked a car service to pick me up from the airport, through the hotel.
Built in 1915, this hotel is beautiful from the outside. My flight arrived very early and my room wasn't ready upon arrival. They held my luggage while I did some strolling and exploring. Perfect for exploring because this is located in the heart of Madrid. I strolled to the Real Jardin Botanico, Palacio Real de Madrid, Mercado de San Miguel, Puerta del Sol & The Prado. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, as well.
We were given a corner room which is very large and views of all the activity below. Bathroom was large, as well.
There is a Rooftop bar, but it was closed while we were visiting (only open in the summer). Rooftop pool we experienced sunshine and laid on the deck, but there are only a few loungers and its on the small size.
Restaurant on premises, Gran Clavel, is very good. Breakfast is excellent.
A great location for my first visit to Madrid.
