21 Best Hotels in Madrid

"As the first city hotel for Iberostar Hotels and Resorts, commonly known for its sprawling resorts in tropical locations, this hotel mixes a playful spirit with urbane sophistication. Given its location in the Las Letras district, where many famous writers once lived, you’ll find quotes in various languages lining the walls everywhere. This is Madrid’s literary neighborhood, but more notable for guests is the hotel’s location along bustling Gran Via with shops, theaters, and dining at their fingertips. Four rooms come with whirlpool tubs on the terrace with excellent views of Madrid’s rooftops. Act fast as these are snatched up quickly." - Ramsey Qubein

Great location , good size rooms with great views, v comfortable, breakfast great and catered well for coeliac/ GF. |Only feedback for improvement is rug and chair in room needed a clean as bit grubby/ stained and whilst staff at front desk pleasant enough and said hello when passing they didn’t engage much. We didn’t get offered cava that we saw other guests being offered / noted in other reviews , or help with bags - unless this comes only with certain rooms . We did a 6 night stay but only staff in restaurant got to know us. |Would stay again

I was staying in this Hotel with my family for over 10 days and we had an amazing experience. We can’t be more thankful with all the staff, starting in the from desk, Anthony and Ursula helped us a lot, as well as the rest of the receptionist. In the bar and restaurant the service was incredible, if you have the opportunity to take the breakfast buffet in the hotel, is one of the best decision. And finally the ladies who cleaned the rooms were extremely kind and always up to help you out. The service here is above incredible, thanks again!

The local is superb and the rooms were comfortable and clean. There was a nice workout facility and pool. You can walk to all of the main tourist attractions from the location and there are main great restaurants and shops nearby. We stayed in a room with an outdoor hot tub. It was definitely a great choice as we enjoyed the patio and hot tub during our stay and the cost was not significantly more.

Highly recommended this hotel! From our check in with the most pleasant and professional Alba through checkout! The rooms were perfect! The beds big and comfy, the bathroom spacious with very good water pressure and attachments. The mega bonus is the beautiful private spacious deck attached to our room!! The view is very pretty with the sun hitting perfectly! See pictures included in review. The breakfast is one of the best we have encountered. So fresh and super well maintained! There is also a very comfortable bar inside with super friendly bar attendants! We had drinks one night and dessert (brownie) and mil another evening. Awesome windows to people watch 😊. I had forgot a souvenir mug when we left the bar area and en extremely kind waiter walked it up to our room!! Over the top customer service! I’m sorry I didn’t get his name. We were so impressed he didn’t just call!! We know how busy it was as we had just left!!! Thank you! Made Madrid even more fun with an amazing sleep every night as the hotel was nice and quiet! One more brilliant thing, they had glass carafes to get as much cool or hot water you needed from a cooler by the elevators. No plastic!! Loved it!! Also hotel very centralized could walk everywhere!

Everything about this hotel was top notch. The appointments in the room, being greeted at the desk with a glass of cava, the breakfast in the adjacent restaurant, and the general beauty of the building. The location could not be better. You are within walking distance of so much of the city and the hop-on-hop-off bus run up this street, so very convenient. It was a bit of a splurge for us, but it was worth it!

The Iberostar is a great overall value. The location is perfect - right along the Gran Via, close to many sites and also metro stations. Tons of places to eat nearby. The rooms are nice and very functional - not super luxurious, but very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast in the mornings was quite good with a nice buffet assortment plus eggs/omlettes to order. We were with a group of about 10 couples and many of us are quite used to 5-star hotel experiences. Everyone was quite satisfied with their experience. While the Iberostar is not a five star hotel, it is a very good 4-star and it delivers a lot for the price point. Would definitely stay again.

Super hotel with super staff ..both the Azaharas at reception were so helpful and professional throughout our recent stay late April / early May 2024. Thank you to all ..you really made our stay special. The room was lovely as was decor and traditional features and despite being so central was so so quiet with extremely comfortable beds. Breakfast service was very good and again lovely staff. Bar staff also fab. David was our hero on the 1 st May locating a taxi for us during a protest march day which was making travelling difficult. Can't thank him enough for going above and beyond for us. A very special stay and cannot recommend enough. Hope to be back!

This hotel is perfectly located to explore Madrid. The breakfast is excellent, beds very comfortable and there is no noise from the busy street below. Very clean. Has a lovely bar downstairs and lovely staff at reception, Anthony was charming and helpful. My only disappointment was the rooftop pool wasn’t open when we visited in April.

Yelp
In town for work and decided to book a hotel with plenty of activities nearby (versus near the airport). Read the reviews of Iberostar's Las Letras Gran Via and booked online for a few nights stay. Also, booked a car service to pick me up from the airport, through the hotel. Built in 1915, this hotel is beautiful from the outside. My flight arrived very early and my room wasn't ready upon arrival. They held my luggage while I did some strolling and exploring. Perfect for exploring because this is located in the heart of Madrid. I strolled to the Real Jardin Botanico, Palacio Real de Madrid, Mercado de San Miguel, Puerta del Sol & The Prado. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, as well. We were given a corner room which is very large and views of all the activity below. Bathroom was large, as well. There is a Rooftop bar, but it was closed while we were visiting (only open in the summer). Rooftop pool we experienced sunshine and laid on the deck, but there are only a few loungers and its on the small size. Restaurant on premises, Gran Clavel, is very good. Breakfast is excellent. A great location for my first visit to Madrid.

Yelp
There is nothing wrong with this hotel. Maybe considered expensive, but fantastic location for venturing out. We did a lot of... out for a few hours... back to the room quick... then out for a few hours. Was great for that! Had room with a hot tub. Just ask them at check-in to raise temperature (you sign a paper). Everyone working was super friendly and helpful. From restaurant staff to door man to check in people. Very helpful. We did not eat in the restaurant(s) but had drinks a few nights. We have no complaints (well maybe the bathroom needed a vent fan but that's it).

Yelp
PERFECT location!!! I loved being smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Madrid. You are walking distance to just about everywhere you will want to go to in the city. The hotel has a restaurant/bar downstairs- with some of the best croquettes I've ever had!! Really cute bar that we enjoyed hanging out in and people watching outside. The room itself was nice, with a good sized bathroom and bedroom. It was a little bit of a let down that I paid extra to have a room with a hot tub, and while we did have one, it didn't heat up properly. We had someone come up and attempt to fix it, but it just never got hot. The view from the room was nice, I loved being high up and enjoying the view of the city and streets below. We also had a good sized terrace to sit on (first level with a table and chairs, beautiful landscaping, and second level with the hot tub).

Yelp
This hotel is the worst hotel, I have ever been at. Filthy room and trashy restaurant. We went to our room and found urine on the bathroom seat . Rugs and floor were not vacuumed. The restaurant is open all day and people drop food on the floors and no one sweeps from the hotel. By 3:00 pm the floors of the restaurant are filthy. Staff doesn't seem to care when you complain. Would never stay at another Iberostar.

Yelp
This beautiful hotel is located in the heart of the city. The friendly staff are always willing to help with any questions or concerns you may have. I highly recommend the hotel as the food was delicious, the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The restaurant and bar located next to the lobby had delicious meals and a great selection of wine. I have stayed in three Iberostar locations and all were great.

Yelp
I greatly enjoyed our experience. The location is awesome- right in the center of Gran Via (probably somewhere in the middle between Callao and Plaza de Cibeles), very easy walk to Puerta del Sol and everywhere else). We arrived from the airport at 10am and asked if our room might be ready, surprisingly the friendly staff immediately told us that yes, we can have a room now but would be courtyard view-- fine with us- we didn't realize we were supposed to get any other view since we booked whatever was available from expedia. The room was not very large, but the bathroom was a generous size. I also likely having extra seating with the love seat and ottoman. The room was very quiet because of the view. There was a rooftop bar, but we didn't stay because it was a little chilly. The small rooftop pool was also closed. There are some food options on site, but I prefer tapas hopping. Overall, really enjoyed the property and staff.
